The Miseducation of the Black Man, White Man, Brown Man, or I Red Man is not the Place, but the State of mind which is "Babylon". Rasta Refuse It,Jah Guide and Peace in your Journey
all i can say being a Black Male i Value Education personally i was born in the Hood i was raised on the thug life but i understand what its about and how hard it is for a Brooklyn Boy to make it to the top because i understand what its like to come up from nothing and make it i keep it real and honest but im movitvated by my family history and ties to slavery so i get where you are coming from
I could not agree more on the fact that the division of the black family whereby the father does not play a major role in the upbringing of the children or in the whole dynamic of the family is a method to dis-empower black people in America today and we need our black men to wake up and stop following this hip hop lifestyle that has been made as living the dream, and we need to go back to our roots and educate ourselves so that we can have a better tomorrow for our children.
there is no black men now days, but there is many black males, a black woman told me there is no men in the race to be consider men...but black males, because black males never lived up to the standards of being men. instead of calling them men, we call them males or down/lows.
You have a lot if positive energy. Im glad that you have shown a interest in the quality of our young black man. I believe that as a race men or woman we must continue to challenge this societal perception that a lot of young black men have. At some point, there must be a break point where young black men and women began to see that ideology as a destruction to our race. If that does not take place what we see today will continue to evolve into a culture of false morals, deprived of an education
It's true but that's never going to change because that just how society has portrayed them as the idols for the younger male generation not only for the African american race. So theres always going to be Rap music belittling woman and distorting a man's perception. Its disgraceful like disgusting because it's stupid. I agree 100% with you @myregularasslife
Let me get on here and tell it like it is, Like I alwaaaays do. Women don't know what they want. The majority of them are to scared, picky or greedy. Even this lady sitting up here saying she despises rapppers is A LIE FROM THE PITS OF HELL, you' would fall faster for that pretty boy swagg than roaches fall for the McDonalds trash bin. Lying Ass Hoe.
true true, as a black an, id never followed the stereotypical models of behaviours expected. But for some fucken reason, balck people perceive this to be ant-black, and that pretty fucked up. But luckily i live in australia, so i guess you guys have real bad, hopefully people will start revisiting the past and learning from these horrific events.
So basically, as long as women keep saying "yes" to these wannabe hip hop hood niggaz, every new generation that comes up is going to emulate the same things they saw the LAST generation succeed with. Its a cycle that will never end until the WOMEN stop going for all that BS. Don't act like u never have a choice. If a man comes at u with "aye lil mama", u have a choice. If a man calls u a bitch, u have a choice. If a man slaps u upside the head, u have a choice. It all starts with u...
The way I see it, young boys grow up and see on tv that "this" type of man gets all the girls by acting a certain way. Then he goes to school and sees his male peers acting the same way, and apparently it works because THEY get all the girls too. So naturally, when these young boys start going after girls themselves, they're going to do the same thing that they saw EVERYBODY ELSE DOING because it worked for them, so it must work for me too. And it does. Because you women keep saying "yes".
But I do like the fact that videos like these get people talking about shit that REALLY needs to be addressed in the black community. The more we expose the things that are wrong with both black men AND black women, the more, hopefully, we can take steps to correct them and elevate ourselves as a people.
Don't hate on the video for exposing what is TRUE! A lot of black women would rather be with the dude on the block smokin weed all day with all the bling bling and driving fancy cars and makin it rain all day, than with the guy who has (or is earning) an education but doesn't yet have all the expensive material things that life has to offer. There's 2 things that men strive for in life - money and women. Fuck what u heard. And the hip hop lifestyle is the quickest way to get them. IT WORKS.
Where are all the good black men? Why don't black men step up and be more positive figures? I can tell you from experience that it simply DOES NOT PAY trying to be a good black man. I can't speak for ALL black women, but from what I've been thru and what I've seen and observed throughout my life, the MAJORITY (not all) of women I've come across simply do not care for the "good man". He's too boring, apparently. I see women falling all over themselves to be with the "hood niggaz". Real life shit.
MOST WOMEN!!! MOST WOMEN!!! MOST WOMEN!!!! You and every other black woman's argument on youtube ARE THE SAME. Yes we know that not all black women are stereotypical, but MOST ARE!!!! That fact alone outshines the minority; THE MINORITY DOESNT MATTER!!!!!! THERE'S NOT ENOUGH GOOD BLACK IN GENERAL; ITS NOT WORTH SEARCHING THROUGH A BAG OF ROTTEN APPLES JUST TO FIND A RIPE ONE!!!!!!!!!! Until more black people tighten up; the ENTIRE RACE looks like utter GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!
@Myregularasslife I agree with your response to a certain degree. Yes, black women who grow up in a negative environment may date the bad boy/thug type of guy because that's all she's grown up around. I also agree that more brothers need to try to do better. However, who's to blame when a black women grows up in a household where both parents were present, she's from the suburb, educated, etc. and still runs behind thug/badboys? They have no excuse yet they still do it.
@Myregularasslife Sounds good i'm wit it...going off subject.... if you get a chance check out my work and leave your thoughts titled:Photography by Lieutenant Norals IV of BluTint
@Myregularasslife, WOW this is the realist video I've seen from a women. I've never heard a women break in down like that or a dude. It's really good to hear from a black women their side. If more black women thought like you we can make some progress as men. I think a lot of black dudes need to take the initiative instead of being what some black women want by being some rapper or drug dealer, or basketball player. I think a lot of dude themselves a disservice & black women. Great Video. :))
@BlackAzzRobb Thank Girl! if our women knew that they should not kickout the hasband and make awareness in Black community for those issues. If the family are together their children will be strong and well educated.
USUALLY THE SAME CHICKS TALKING BOUT "AINT NO GOOD BROTHAS LEFT" ARE THE SAME ONES WHO "PURPOSELY" WENT FOR THE WRONG GUYS IN THE PAST. NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY CAN FIND A GOOD BROTHA. BUT BY THAT TIME DO YOU REALLY EXPECT THEM TO TAKE YOU WITH ALL YOUR DRAMA AND BAGGAGE?
IF YOU DO, THEN THAT'S SELFISH AS FUCK AND YOU NEED TO STAY SINGLE..
I'm pretty sure every good brotha like myself has said this a million times already. Pussy is very powerful and women don't realize it. When we see what type of guy you are giving it to that's what type of guy we are gonna become.
STOP FUCKING WITH HOOD/BAD BOYS AND I GUARANTEE YOU WILL SEE A BIG CHANGE.
TRY HAVING HAVE A BABY BY A GOOD BROTHA AND YOU WILL HAVE A FATHER IN YOUR KIDS LIFE.
HAVE A BABY BY A BAD BOY/ HOOD DUDE YOU WILL BE A BABY MOTHER OR GET AN S.T.D.
black men are stepping up and getting educated coincidentally they're the ones who are stepping out to women of of other races.it does'nt benefit a black man to be eduucated to black women becausa educated black men does'nt mean anything to black women unless he has lots of money then they want him but he does'nt want them.
Yo, real shit, this whole concept isn't new. Women have always liked bad boys over safe guys. Why? Because badasses tend to have more testosterone, which hormonally attracts women. The same way women with thicker curves happen to have more estrogen, ergo attracting males. Shit aint new. Just changed the cover.
@badboi0717 yep alot of ppl dont know that either. its the science of attraction....we could look at if from that point of view and not a race, or status point of view. Good point =)
I feel this social "i gets mines and Imma gonna do me" (pardon ther lingo, it will be explained) stimulus is pulsed through the black community because it's honestly all they know. And it is quite sad to think this, but the stereotype wouldn't exist if it didn't hold to be true. Everyone forgets there's no standard white, black Latin person ect. Thank you for portraying that to a very fine form. Wish you luck in your endeavors.
I agree. Hood lifestyle is not cool and it's even making people who didn't grow up in the hood act ignorant. It used to be that you tried to act better despite your background, not worse. We used to strive to be educated and well-mannered and now those things are being rejected. The question is, who benefits from this because Black people are not!
@BronzeTrinity The ACTUAL hood lifestyle is scary, insecure and mentally destabilizing. Nobody would be stupid enough to rock something nice unless you like getting jacked for your shit. Kids actually are tryna do well in class and continue unless something goes down in their life. Now its glorified on MTV and kids who have never so much as experienced it, tryna talk ghetto, over-sice (PG resident) rappers and look like they go hard. It's so frustrating when you know what really goes down.
I think one of the worst things that happen to black Americans is denial. Nothing is 100%. If you speak to something, there are always exceptions to the rule. There are big problems in the black community. Instead of trying to help to fix these problems, when someone brings them to the forefront, with satire, plays, etc the person is criticized. The issues in that video, as crazy as they sound, are happening. If you doubt it, go to a 21+ hip hop club in an urban city. You will see them.
I am a black man and i think that you are exactly right...Also you are a very hot afrocentric woman, word up!!! Holla at me, i'd love to here your thoughts....
Why agonize for 9 minutes when the truth is clear, it's rational to do what works, it's irrational to do what doesn't work. What you like or do not like about that is irrelevant. If you want men to be a certain way, you need to make the work for them..the ball is in your court--not our...
I agree with her about some of those rap cats not ever really living the life. A stupid thug will glorify it because he knows nothing else. But there are reformed thugs who will tell you that its mainly death and incarceration. And how a person can become emotionally deadened by seeing so many people die. She makes some great points in this video.
If you think our black people it bad look up the slave history of Brazil. A slave was reguarded as something to use and throw away when done in that country, but it made the black Brazilians have a joy of life and brought them closer than we are over here in the U.S.
If you are upset do something! Talk to your friends about dating a good men. My generation is fucked. You are young and still attractive marry that hard working man from your school that will provide for you. I can not change the past, but you are the future of our people.
well to make a comment, i was raised by all women. I have been in honors my whole life and, for being a "black male" i have always been considered white. I work hard, go to college, and am nice to others, yeat have many female friends....friends whom r dating or whom go after thugs...so im not so sure if this video is all wrong, but there should be a time for change
blah blah blah all bullshit!! All BW do act like that in that original video. They are just to slow to realize how fucked up they are in their situation. They change their ways once their pregnant, or even when they have fucked every thug guy out there. They then soon realize that hmmm.. I want a successful BM whose gonna provide for me and my other baby daddies kids. Thats why you see so many older BW complaing and whining why they cant find a good BM. Cause all of us good ones are taken.
@Myregularasslife you might say you dont like looosers.but on the oprah show the facts came up also now on cnn......almost all the kids that black women have are fathered out of wedlock and by......men with no degrees or house!!.......so you can say what you want, but reality says openly .......black women choose lowlifes and loosers as the father of their babies.....so to rich black men , or men with degrees..reality is simple......white women...................
@ankhenaten2 not saying i dont agree. Im saying that i dont deal with them. Also just because a man does not own his own house or have a degree does not make him a low life, also just because he has a child out of wedlock does not mean he is one too. Yes this is the normal make up that breeds thugs but not always. Any who yes it is true that alot of black women go after thugs, but not all black women. I do think that women as a whole need higher standards n no "rap video" standards of success
@Myregularasslife Thank-you for your comments obviously this gentleman has his opinion. However I found your comments to be quite balanced. Have a good evening. You are very attractive as well.
I don't think the video in question was promoting the "Hood" lifestyle, it was showing the viewer how ridiculous the concept is and unfortunately plenty of women do in fact fall prey to this.
Liked the vid but a point's missin to defend men who "turn thug"for bitches" is: hardest part about "Being Yourself" or the man you want to be is the idea or revelation, while you may not be a bad person that nobody will like you or care for you being you or the man you want to be = lack of acceptance as society and your community try to pick roles for u. I know many black men who gave up their studies or went thug because girls (not all) in school clownd them for trying to be studious.
You claim you don't like the video but all of your points are being made in the video. I will tell u like this. I know blk folks who can't stand to hear that 72% of blk kids are born out of wedlock. They don't believe the white man stats. I tell these same fools I don't need the white man stats to tell me what I see everyday among my blk sistas. I don't need this video to tell me my sistas like thugs. I see it everyday when they are dropped off for work in their car by some dirty thug.
What I don't understand about your video is why would you dislike the video because it portrayed the "hip-hop stereotypes?" Based on your opinions I would think you would have agreed with it. That is what is going on our here, and those are the exact things men say. It was a rant and I appreciate your frustration and passion, but hese videos are not speaking to ALL black men/people they are simply placing the mirror in front of the faces of the people who fall into these categories.
The way I see it,it's all in the mind,if you aspire to the quick bucks guns n violence lifestyle with lots of kids,so be it.If you aspire to be better in life, get a good job and be a responsible citizen, then leave the neighborhood, study hard, and put yourself in a situation to get a good job,all this is all down to you, forget about RAP lifestyle, take your future in your own hands, and if the women prefer the thug lifestyle don't worry because you will have the career and the more stable future.
What about alL these barbie (nicki manaj) wannabees they actually [think they are] nicki manaj not only are they wearing her {glasses} and {shoes} they are morphing] themselves into her charactor, she actually has {black clones} all over the world,] i mean from her {dress} to her {hairstyle} from her {makeup to her {eyelids.} That is far worst then takin a style it is completly turning yourself into..
@wayne2166 into another person and [forgetting about who you as a person] actually are, when nicki is gone what will they fall on to? they are in danger of being the woman without as face, they will lose the essence of thereself that gives them a name and an identity, they will look in the mirror enough times to actually believe that is what makes them and individual when in reality it makes them forget what it takes to have an identity.
Those same slave breaking techniques never went away.It just took a different form. The plan has always been to destroy the black man. He's the main target. They've always used the black woman like a pawn because they know it would cause dysfunction among blacks. All this black women are "educated and moving up the corporate ladder" has some design to it.It's done to create a imbalance in the black dating scene.Black women is the "booty"...spoils of a covert war aimed against black men
You do realize that both of the characters were black, right? 1 took the right path and the other took the wrong path. And it explained their motivations.
@ regular.. you didn't get the video.. these were two different types of black guys talking and the one in the suit was tryin to understand how the one in the red hat pulls all the women when all the women HE (the one in the suit) knew said they wanted a man like him..
then the question was posed at the end to the women for them to validate which guy was representing the reality as it exists now..
Alot of Non-White and White persons just need to be informed more on the dynamics of America's Socio economy. How prison sentences relate to Large companies and ultimately the dynamics in the household and recurring cycles of hardship. The Hiphop society has not done anything to give men some power. It's an illusion. Some artists and people have tried, yes, but for all intents and purposes, no. Look up 360 Contracts & record labels. Think of it as a way to take up time.
Hood style or whatever is made popular through all the media beiber's outfits, all the fast cars, and outfits in these music videos, the lyrics...the artists are told this is what sells, they make it, and the people not living these styles emulate it. Things associated with being rich are tied into that stuff. Fast ways of getting money (illegally) , and lavish lifestyles get linked. So there you go. Overly simplified.
and I can not tell you how refreshing it is to see another black woman that does not like the "hood" life style that black men try to portray and that black women like. its not as rare that I see this but each time its like diving a pool of spring water lol
There are a lot of books written by black men and women that suggest that the psychology of slavery was engraved into our DNA based on the way our ancestors were treated and sadly breeded.
The media has been putting out this false image since the 60s and 70s with all the black men portrayed as pimps, drug dealers, and junkies. The African American mind set is fucked up there are 10% that are no influenced by the negativity, 30% that are slightly influenced but they know whats right from wrong & 60% has that fucked up mentality.
What pisses you off is that this actually happens and is accepted by both black men and women. What if men treated women the way they would want their sister to be treated? And what if women held men to a higher standard? The thing is, both women and men in this scenario have the wrong perception of success.
& In no way am I making excuses for black men to act like idiots, thugs or be abusive spouses. What I am trying to say is, as long as certain black women stay attracted to those with lifestyles similar to the "hood guy" in the miseducation video, there will be a continuous upbringing of black men acting that way. & I don't blame hip hop at all, because hip hop is not aggressive at all anymore. We have artist like Drake rapping and singing about finding love for Christ sake. lol.
I agree with what you are saying about we as black men need to step away from the images that are given out to the masses. Also the slavery idea is something that most blacks do not learn about until you get to college and if you do not go to college you lost that time to learn about it. It is said how we as a people hate sterotypes about us but we still live up to them. I am trying not to live that way but i am also looked at as not black enough by my peers. Its a struggle for us all
Hopefully you'll read this Myregularasslife -- when I was watchin the video I was like yep that always seem to be the case for me but When I heard you say that women chase after fake man like that cause some women dont know any better. nobody that been successful has ever when back and date a girl from the hood or show them how real man act and your right it up to good man to show them that. but always mind that we got some women that are just oblivious sometime GUYS you know what im talk about
the reason u dont like the video is because up until now black men have solely shouldered the blame for the clusterfuck that is the blk male/female relationship. & black women are totally okay with that. The truth is blk women have just as much part to play in the problem as men do.& it mindblowing for women to hear it. In our society IN GENERAL women have no accountability for their actions or bad choices. Its always caused by something else. This is why you are uncomfortable by this video
@geekaleek Good Job. Black women especially always have excuses , and deflections when they are being called out for what some of there fellow sisters do. ,me personally beleives any black women that has a problem with the criticism are part of the problem , and the mesages obviously apply to them!
How can yu hate the persona of lil wayne but still listen to him? lmao
Nd, no, we don't imitate shit on tv. But most men DO do things for women. Like Dave Chapelle said "If a guy could fuck a girl in a cardboard box, he wouldn't buy a house"
TYPICAL BLACK FEMMALE USING THE BULLSHIT LIES TO TRY TO BLAME IT ON THE BLACK MEN AGIAN.U EVIL WOMEN NEVER STOP, DON'T YOU.AND ,U WONDER Y BLACK MEN R DATING WOMEN OF OTHER RACES. BLACK WOMEN ARE 24,7 365 DAYS A YEAR DELUDED HALLUCINATORS .
I guess it takes a males eye view to really understand that:
1.maybe not you but most yeah i said most women like that image hands down. You dont like it but it is what it is.When your a black male you see/hear first hand what black woman do and its sad when it just dont come from black males.Im not gonna go all the way into that right now..
2.Now you and everybody on this page know when lil wayne come home what they said about his concert is true
And your point about women going for what is in their community.......that is a conversation I have had with friends. And it is true. But it is also sad. I think its one of the biggest problems. Females need to either think outside the box get away and travel. Is it expensive? No. If you can afford Jordans, you can afford a Greyhound ticket to go somewhere else.
I'm sorry shorty........he is so right. You have to look at it from the position of a educated successful black man. If a black guy is upset in this.....they are prob the dude in the red hat
ok....1st of all I'm digging the response to GQ's video....2nd I love the way you articulate your response...3rd you seem to be a very educated woman...4th you are drop dead gorgeous! Wow!
only if there were more black woman like you beautiful and educated but the truth is theres not that many like you. most black woman choose the hood type over the educated black men and the young men notice and every guy wants to get girls that really is the reason why most men do what they do.
BW would make for terrible gardeners. they have no concept of growing and nurturing a seed until it's mature. BW want to toss a seed in mud, walk away, and expect a rose garden when they return.
why can't BW understand they are fostering a culture of "bad BM.". BM have become sperm donors in the african american community, these women don't know anything else! they've never seen it, they've never heard of it. and the only time they desire it is when they see BM off with women of other races
You nailed it on the head with your response to that cartoon video. We do perpetuate the negative stereotypes. It pissed me off too as a young black male because I do admit to wanting that type of "Black Star" image but I am also surrounded by those types of black men publicly everyday & the only way I can break out of that "PUBLIC stereotype" is when I am home in my own place educating myself so it's a weird a cross between duplicity & duality but I feel you
personality is bullshit, character is everything. The problem with us human beings is that we think we have it all figured out, and in doing so we are victims of our own cruel mind, that always thinks and is guilty of mind or group by association, but a human being is so advanced you can't do that, you have to judge all human beings as individuals, because each individual on earth have their own unique life experiences, and there is truth to that, there is no truth to how all black men think!
there is way more truth to responding to a person's individual energy than some fantasy cartoon bullshit of how all black men are supposed to act, or whatever, here is a test, Do you know who Ronnie Coleman is? if you do, Does he fit the stereotype of the common black man or whatever? if I meet my friend Darnell, or i meet Phil, i judge them by their unique character not their race, if someone grew up in U.S. their whole lives regardless of race, they are bound to act somewhat similar.
In the, 'I support the nerdy black dude that doesn't get laid, but is generally a good guy so I want to show my support' way, but wouldn't want to see him naked.
u do seem upset an that makes sense but there is truth 2 both sides we can get mad at each other all day but at the end of the day instead of fighting over it we should talk it over see what's on the other side... peace
I think you should also understand that based on the connotation he is siding with the educated black male. He is showcasing that the weak male will emulate the brand to retrieve a woman. He is siding with what you are saying, but is asking women "Is this what you really want?"
I think it is more of a pragmatic approach because the video is trying to portray the weak male as too unable to make a suitable change for the community, thereby empowering (and sadly giving more responsibility) to BWs.
I knew about the "brand" when I was a kid. Even the "educated black male" is somewhat of a brand (look at the frats and let me know how many majors are outside of business, management, or engineering).
There are some of us who have gone to a much different direction. My direction stems from my heritage, knowing my people are one of the oldest AMERICANS. I hope black people understand we have a solid history, and we should be expanding our standards beyond both of these motifs.
Wasn't the point of the video to "Rub some people the wrong way"?
The mere fact that you have taken the time to post a response to GQnupes shows what a success his vid was/is.
Anything that raises the issues touched upon in his vid should be welcome and embraced for opening a "door" to the discussion of some very serious topics!
And by the way, I loved your response and thoughts.
The way I see it is the constant blame of women in these issues is proof the the breakdown of the black man that you're explaining is still alive and well. If a man truly wants to get up and lead, he will get up and lead, with no other motivation but his own. And if a man is only aiming to be successful, by any means, for the sole purpose of adhering to the so called ideals of women, then neither is a man at all.
if anything, it's satire. don't be mad at the person who made the video, be more upset that women actually do live up to that stereotype. even, don't be upset at all because it's all satire.
@LongBeach2SanDiego yup if you check out my other reply video to his first one "dating in a hip hop society" i think its called you will see that im not at all upset. this vid just made me mad seeing the actual thugged out dude talkin all the mess i always hear...i hate that image and those dudes lol
@Myregularasslife Don't dislike the video. Dislike the TRUTH. The video is truth. Most of the men who get women act like him! Go to your black female friends and look at the men who got them pregnant. How many of them fit the model of the professional man?
I like how you explain things, but you were upset in the first video as well, just had it targeted at a different group. Either way, it’s always good to hear people’s opinion. I on the other hand, took it at face value; it was a way for nupe to get attention. The actual argument has been around for the last 20 years, it’s just a newer generation discussing it. You are who you are, and you will have your equal, whether you are someone living the hood life or someone living the Wall Street life.
@Albravo2000 Very true kinda of like a to each his own thing lol But yea in the first video i was mad about youtube messing up because it always does, this second video i had actually got upset about the content because the character in it represented everything i hate about hip hop and the culture. But good argument same shit we r just new ppl talking about it in its advanced state still with no solution. Or not enough ppl willing to work on the solution smh its a cycle
GQnupe broke it down...but i think it all comes from people just wanting to be "Cool"..when i use to see rappers in the 90's, they were Cool, everyone loved them...and since they were on tv, the WORLD looked at them as an example of how to be...so we started to sagg our pants, put cornrows in our hair and talk a certain way and speak a certain slang. theres nothing wrong with TRENDS but when it comes to people being IGNORANT, you cant blame rappers...
(cont) my point is that it's not just the male's fault for acting that way, the females who are attracted to that behavior are at fault as well. even when given the choice between a decent guy like me, who's not the best looking guy in the world but i'm not Flavor Flav either, and the wannabe thugs, they still go for the thugs (even Flavor Flav). it's a sad situation, and the blame doesn't completely fall on any single group of people.
(cont) the fake Lil Waynes who made it into college (it's cheap, public, open-admission, if you're wondering how they got in) and are going to drop out by the end of the semester are still receiving all the attention from females, while the guys like me who are actually succeeding and getting closer towards their goals are looked at as if we're freaks at a sideshow by most of the black females. in general males behave in a way that attracts women, and obviously Lil Wayne attracts women (cont)
i agree with you until around 7:00. i'm a black guy from the hood, but i've never acted as if i'm from there. i've always been the "nice guy" who treats women with respect, so i was definitely an alternative to all of the wannabe thugs. yet i have been rejected by every single girl i've ever asked out, and usually soon after they go running after those thugs. even now that i'm in college, those guys are the ones getting laid while i'm alone in my room at midnight typing this comment (cont)
Men can lose a lot of money chasing women, but Men rarely lose women while chasing money. What you will find when you get older is that those some women will want you later.
After writing this, why would GQnupe make this video?
@vain911 i never really believed the whole "you will never lose a woman chasing money" because to chase money takes time and the more time you spend on that your women will start to get tired of that because you are not spending time with them or your missing out on time with the fam. Thats why there are many workaholic older men who have alot of money but no stable relationships and lookin for a "sugar baby" because women leave them cuz all the do is chase money.
@Myregularasslife see its about selling drugs and the quick buck!!! Woman really dont care how you make the money!!They only care if trouble trails their ass
Well, I made you think about what really happens...so you should be mad. The point of this one was to be as funny. These are the truths that we are running from. Those same men that the hood women are not around, can read and watch tv like the men do. If the men are held responsible for ignoring these media induced stereotypes, so are the women. A man cannot lead a household he is not invited in to. We need to talk as a community, so that all sides can be addressed. Men and women share blame.
@GQnupe i love u lol!!! i love how u did have two valid points of view but as I said on your vid, I would always choose the educated black man over a thug... I refuse to be a baby mama, chicked head, or swagger chase. I will teach my kids how to save money NOT how to Dougie lmfao! Keep the vids coming
if there was more of your kind of maturity in role models, a lot of problems would be solved

Z1234217 2 months ago
there is no black men now days, but there is many black males, a black woman told me there is no men in the race to be consider men...but black males, because black males never lived up to the standards of being men. instead of calling them men, we call them males or down/lows.

En4cer2K9 8 months ago 9
The way I see it, young boys grow up and see on tv that "this" type of man gets all the girls by acting a certain way. Then he goes to school and sees his male peers acting the same way, and apparently it works because THEY get all the girls too. So naturally, when these young boys start going after girls themselves, they're going to do the same thing that they saw EVERYBODY ELSE DOING because it worked for them, so it must work for me too. And it does. Because you women keep saying "yes".
En4cer2K9 8 months ago
But I do like the fact that videos like these get people talking about shit that REALLY needs to be addressed in the black community. The more we expose the things that are wrong with both black men AND black women, the more, hopefully, we can take steps to correct them and elevate ourselves as a people.
En4cer2K9 8 months ago
Don't hate on the video for exposing what is TRUE! A lot of black women would rather be with the dude on the block smokin weed all day with all the bling bling and driving fancy cars and makin it rain all day, than with the guy who has (or is earning) an education but doesn't yet have all the expensive material things that life has to offer. There's 2 things that men strive for in life - money and women. Fuck what u heard. And the hip hop lifestyle is the quickest way to get them. IT WORKS.
En4cer2K9 8 months ago
Where are all the good black men? Why don't black men step up and be more positive figures? I can tell you from experience that it simply DOES NOT PAY trying to be a good black man. I can't speak for ALL black women, but from what I've been thru and what I've seen and observed throughout my life, the MAJORITY (not all) of women I've come across simply do not care for the "good man". He's too boring, apparently. I see women falling all over themselves to be with the "hood niggaz". Real life shit.
En4cer2K9 8 months ago

326Ka 10 months ago
Yo, real shit, this whole concept isn't new. Women have always liked bad boys over safe guys. Why? Because badasses tend to have more testosterone, which hormonally attracts women. The same way women with thicker curves happen to have more estrogen, ergo attracting males. Shit aint new. Just changed the cover.

BronzeTrinity 11 months ago 5
@BronzeTrinity The ACTUAL hood lifestyle is scary, insecure and mentally destabilizing. Nobody would be stupid enough to rock something nice unless you like getting jacked for your shit. Kids actually are tryna do well in class and continue unless something goes down in their life. Now its glorified on MTV and kids who have never so much as experienced it, tryna talk ghetto, over-sice (PG resident) rappers and look like they go hard. It's so frustrating when you know what really goes down.
AymNaija 11 months ago
I think one of the worst things that happen to black Americans is denial. Nothing is 100%. If you speak to something, there are always exceptions to the rule. There are big problems in the black community. Instead of trying to help to fix these problems, when someone brings them to the forefront, with satire, plays, etc the person is criticized. The issues in that video, as crazy as they sound, are happening. If you doubt it, go to a 21+ hip hop club in an urban city. You will see them.

I agree with her about some of those rap cats not ever really living the life. A stupid thug will glorify it because he knows nothing else. But there are reformed thugs who will tell you that its mainly death and incarceration. And how a person can become emotionally deadened by seeing so many people die. She makes some great points in this video.

@ankhenaten2 not saying i dont agree. Im saying that i dont deal with them. Yes this is the normal make up that breeds thugs but not always. Any who yes it is true that alot of black women go after thugs, but not all black women.

They don't believe the white man stats. I tell these same fools I don't need the white man stats to tell me what I see everyday among my blk sistas.

Think of it as a way to take up time.
adrenalyns 1 year ago
Hood style or whatever is made popular through all the media beiber's outfits, all the fast cars, and outfits in these music videos, the lyrics...the artists are told this is what sells, they make it, and the people not living these styles emulate it. Things associated with being rich are tied into that stuff. Fast ways of getting money (illegally) , and lavish lifestyles get linked. So there you go. Overly simplified.
adrenalyns 1 year ago

And what if women held men to a higher standard? The thing is, both women and men in this scenario have the wrong perception of success.

& In no way am I making excuses for black men to act like idiots, thugs or be abusive spouses. What I am trying to say is, as long as certain black women stay attracted to those with lifestyles similar to the "hood guy" in the miseducation video, there will be a continuous upbringing of black men acting that way. & I don't blame hip hop at all, because hip hop is not aggressive at all anymore. It is said how we as a people hate sterotypes about us but we still live up to them. I am trying not to live that way but i am also looked at as not black enough by my peers. the reason u dont like the video is because up until now black men have solely shouldered the blame for the clusterfuck that is the blk male/female relationship. & black women are totally okay with that. The truth is blk women have just as much part to play in the problem as men do.& it mindblowing for women to hear it. The best way to secure your matrimonial fate
Is to investigate the character of your potential mate,
And character is more than being good is school.
If a man studies and works hard and lays claim
To a six figure job, and some impressive initials at the rear of his name,
But not enough character to “cash in a wolf ticket,” preferring dishonor, and shame
over the consequences of conflict and strife,
he will make her an affluent but frustrated emotionally starved wife.

The problem with us human beings is that we think we have it all figured out, and in doing so we are victims of our own cruel mind, that always thinks and is guilty of mind or group by association, but a human being is so advanced you can't do that, you have to judge all human beings as individuals, because each individual on earth have their own unique life experiences, and there is truth to that, there is no truth to how all black men think!

there is way more truth to responding to a person's individual energy than some fantasy cartoon bullshit of how all black men are supposed to act, or whatever, here is a test, Do you know who Ronnie Coleman is? if you do, Does he fit the stereotype of the common black man or whatever? if I meet my friend Darnell, or i meet Phil, i judge them by their unique character not their race, if someone grew up in U.S. their whole lives regardless of race, they are bound to act somewhat similar.

u do seem upset an that makes sense but there is truth 2 both sides we can get mad at each other all day but at the end of the day instead of fighting over it we should talk it over see what's on the other side...

And by the way, I loved your response and thoughts.

liked your response. I think that there are definite truths from both the male and female perspectives in this video.

How many of them fit the model of the professional man?

damn....you been busy. three in one day.....I am impressed.

Cuddlebunzzzz 1 year ago

After writing this, why would GQnupe make this video?
vain911 1 year ago
@vain911 i never really believed the whole "you will never lose a woman chasing money" because to chase money takes time and the more time you spend on that your women will start to get tired of that because you are not spending time with them or your missing out on time with the fam. Thats why there are many workaholic older men who have alot of money but no stable relationships and lookin for a "sugar baby" because women leave them cuz all the do is chase money.
Myregularasslife 1 year ago
@Myregularasslife The particular woman may change, but there will always be another handful or boatload of women on deck if you have money.
Senator1 1 year ago
@Myregularasslife see its about selling drugs and the quick buck!!! Woman really dont care how you make the money!!They only care if trouble trails their ass
TRUF247 1 year ago
