@jakebenissy Sam Wellers is the Brighthouse now, same layout but it plays rock now on the weekends. Broad street killed off that part of town. The taxi woman in the window where you had to shout up to order a cab, that's apartments. The Foundry (Former Paramount) and Beir Keller are apartments. Edwards No 8 was rebuilt after the fire but sits empty and for sale. Bizz Lizzies has gone, Flares (Fomerly Kalidascope) moved to broad street and that sits empty.
Friday night in the New Stag back room, back in 1984-86. Followed up with the Bad Manners 'Can Can'. Great pub, didn't worry about age, now knocked down with bloody flats in it's place...
Damn I'm old, castle vale Comp' Day's of long ago. remember my m8 doing a remix of the 12" on the first double casset, record player I'd ever seen. While I played Aztec Ants on his Spectrum zx81. Good times the 80's never seen better.
@scd03 Snobs has changed, the round back bar has gone. Also it seems to cater for a more trendy crowd in recent years and there is more trouble than there used to be.
@MrRich9665 I went to the yard of ale last month and its GONE! What is the world coming to. Its now an all you can eat chinese buffet. When beer makes way for food we really are in a bad way.

I hope that they dont throw their faeces through the bars.I did that and it pissed off the chimpanzee's no end, that and the wanking competition, which I won.
This was my Biggest Tune of 1981 @ the Barn in Worcester and The powerhouse in Brum!! Still an absolute classic today! So many memories. Lol Dj D-Tone
my memories of this were all the lads in the pub getting up for a bit of rough and tumble at the end of the night. if it went well the DJ was a hero, if it went bad the place got trashed lol. Bham
To all you fans out there this has to one I wore out playing it. Remember Tramps in Worcester and then later Chicago Rock Cafe Worecester. Where themanager came and told me he could here this in the office and thought it had cleared the dance floor.........how wrong he was. Well he was from London!!!!!
Magic. Thanks to messers Caplin and Magnet from Stourbridge.

Great to hear this again. It was always a favourite with me and my sisters. No self respecting DJ was ever without it. Don't get it played at many parties now because of cds. Thanks!
fantastic song, takes me back to the embasy and sacred harts in tamworth back in the day. thanks for posting this and reminding me of great times and friends.
What a f*ckin tune!!! Not just a 'Brummie' anthem if you visited 'Coventry' it was played till it melted!!! However remember the 'POWERHOUSE' awesome times, long live 1980-1989!!!! :)
i come from Solihull and in 1986 1987 I used to dance to this at the Powerhouse in Birmingham, i think we used to used to listen to it at home three times in a row every time we put it on. great- what happened to these guys?
@timsnapcase oh yes me too! Just finished jumping around the living room :) mind you, cant do it like i used to haha even my 14 yr old daughter loves this
was this just a midlands thing? nobody from the rest of the world seems to admit they ever jumped around like a nutter to it. takes me back to school discos. lichfield in the 80s.
I have always loved this tune! Anyone got any bright ideas where I might be able to put my hands on a copy? I want to drive around Great Barr playing it really loud! Good times!
That's cool. I would have been the Simon LeBon-Don Johnson hybrid flexing in the corner of the Impacto disco.
BTW, who was that minger that danced with you lot? I seem to remember that she appeared to carry one to many Y-chronosomes. She had a particularly unladylike way of dancing to Two Tribes if memory serves.
btw, that minger with the wrong chromosomes that used to dance with us is now my wife and has been for the last 25 years. shes still unladylike but thats just the way i like her :-|
This was also played every week at the police disco's in Halesowen's Cornbow Centre about 1986-88 All the so called hard lads would stand in the middle lookin hard and everyone else would run round the outside faster and faster sometimes getting a smack in the face from a bystander !
yes i remember the Powerhouse, Birmingham, great night out... girls who turned up with a tube of Smarties would get in free, god those were the days, and this tune is just soooo good :)
I still play this when doing a disco or karaoke and people go nuts for it. It's odd that it was only really popular in brum and the west midlands.
