  • I'm a Journeyman Water Restorer, this is the best video on this topic, Thanks job well done!

  • VERY INFORMATIVE. Never knew this about venting dryers indoors, as my friend's mom just had a laundry room installed in her sisters duplex apartment thing, and yet no one's found time to bore a hole in the wall for a vent.

  • Good video

  • like farting in a puddle! Thumbs Up.

  • Hardly anyone here in France has clothes dryers. It can be annoying, using drying racks and waiting a day or two and having to open windows in rooms. Washing clothes too much, and especially drying clothes by a machine, is considered bad for the clothes. I am from Cleveland and then NYC, and when I moved to France, my desire to clean clothes and linens weekly was looked upon darkly. Go figure.

  • @slobomotion WOW, we use our dryer 3X per day. I never knew that about France. When I was in France 17 years ago, I was in a line for something, and all the French people had major BO ....... and was bad. So know I know why. Joking.

  • @Clevelandmarko Hee hee! It is nice to see people not chewing gum and who seldom have bad breath, but I do see a lot of rather limp and greasy hair. It is not yet sunrise and I am airing out the large bedroom. Ten minutes per day, every room aired out. When I moved here, about 3/4 of a million Parisians did not have bathrooms, and public baths were still used. You bought a subscription. A bath out in Brittany costs about 40 USD! They use the "lavabo" instead.

  • @Clevelandmarko The way they do the kissie thing here, at work also, people have to stay very clean or it's horribly evident. I prefer a handshake, myself. It's becoming more popular now in business situations, thank heaven. They are maniacs about washing their hands here. Many people carry nail brushes and toothbrushes in their brief cases or handbags for during the day at work. Sometimes you use a restroom here and it looks like a major hygiene production going on!

  • here we have, in Europe, practical dryers with internal-condensation system...no humididy no dusts no dirty around laundry or Home...Germany rules :)

  • @magimicsss I am American and have studied and lived in Europe a long time. It has been very interesting to find out other ways of living and doing things. My spouse does not care for Germany, was stationed there, but personally, I would like to go, as I am of Alsatian, Swiss and German ancestry and Germany is a big country. I have found German coworkers to be great! As tourists, I do not care to be with them, however. My best to you!

  • @magimicsss Like Marko, I am Slovenian, half, on my mother's side and from Cleveland, Ohio USA. Marko and I might very well be "kissin' cousins." It really is a small world!

  • In the winter, outside, snow won't even accumulate on the ground in the area of the exhaust! If you have a long vent run, get one! Also, try and use as much smooth wall pipe as you can. It helps air flow, and reduces buildup of lint and clogging. BTW, I also installed a secondary lint trap at the dryer (a metal box with screens and a window) that keeps the lint out of the line to begin with. I gotta admit, it's a nice setup!

  • I installed an in-line fan/blower on my dryer vent a few years ago, and WOW it works really well. It goes on automatically when it senses a pressure build up from the dryer being turned on

  • I typed in your website address exactly the way you spoke it at the beginning and end of your video, but my browser said it could not be found, and suggested that perhaps there should be 3 Ws rather than 2.

  • @ccoraxfan sorry 3 w's

  • this video is great and informative in a funny way... thanks for your time....

  • HEY READ THIS! So I just moved into an apartment with a washer and dryer in unit. I tried using my dryer for the first time and it smelled like fire. the top was so hot it almost burnt my hand. So I called the landlord, so they take it apart and vac it out, and they find out the outside vent is clogged. SO... this person thinks it's a great idea to DUCT-TAPE a PILLOWCASE where the vent should be and said it's safe to use, now I'm sick and coughing up phlegm, and I'm pregnant, I shouldnt be sick

  • @ForeverSkating789 That's an interesting idea, using a pillow case as an indoor dryer vent. Most of the lint is trapped, and the air flow is probably excellent. However, asside from the air quality problem, the biggest problem with it is that it is a FIRE HAZARD and against the code. In fact, the little tube that was susposed to be attached to the back of the dryer must be non-combustible. Lowes recently paid millions of dollars for installing plastic transition dryer vent hoses.

  • What about ventless dryers that dry by condensation? I think they exaust all the moisture through the plumbing as hot warm air inside the dryer flows against a cool condensing line. Do are those dryers healthy? They say they are more energy efficient but they need to run about twice as long so I don't see how there can be much savings.

  • @amigo1080 Not sure about this product. If it increases indoor humidity it is bad.

  • Who decorated the basement at 4:27? Helen Keller? No she had taste. So no pets and don't wash & dry your clothes? 'Cuz It's not the cigarettes @ 5:50 that make you sick it's Fido & clean laundry?Humidity is good in cold climates. It helps keep the warm air, it holds down static and keeps you from getting dried out. If your ceiling is dripping, you have bigger problems than the dryer. Dust mites are everywhere. Wanna be healthy? Quit smoking, brush your pets, wash your clothes & clean your house.

  • I dont know what you're problem is but we stuck our dryer vent through the wall so that its all vented outside. I though EVERYONE did this. Whoever uses an indoor vent is a fucking retard with no common sense hahahah for reals dude who really does this???

  • We have problems. Thanks for the info.

  • He performs "aggressive particle profiling" at frame 5:17 for that paunch...

  • This video is like farting in a puddle.

    You still smell the fart.

  • HAHA your dryer sucks!!!!

  • The vent bucket we used to add water into the air during winter was specially made to accept the ventpipe. worked like a champ and only used when our humidity was lower than 40%...

  • In talking about dryer lint, don't forget that lint is very combustible, so lint collecting in places where it's not supposed to be due to an improperly installed dryer vent can be a fire hazard.

  • Haha farting in a puddle!!! Great information here btw!

  • Most of it is common sense, but sadly lot of people lack common sense these days. Some of those installs are real disasters! Also good idea to use medal flex, even better to use solid medal duct, and short piece of flex to give the dryer some play if you need to pull it back, but make it as short as possible.

  • 6:36 ha ha

  • Very informative.

  • This is awesome!!! I cant believe how many people dont understand how dangerous improperly run dryer vents can be. I have seen amazing things when cleaning dryer vents and air ducts. To the point, nicely done! Hope this wakes folks up and helps keep them and there families safer! Call a professional to have it done right.

  • what is that at 6:37 ?

  • thank you ,i was thinking of buying a indoor dryer vent to save money this winter. spurbacknorm@aol.com

  • Aside from "farting" and "shiting", it's a very educational video.

  • now i know what cased my cusins girlfried to get cancer

  • On the hundreds of houses i have done. why have i never seen a dirty inspector? only things inspected are open spaces.

  • Really good best ive seen so far I'm c-det certified and your only one online that knows anything this video is very helpful to public. Nice job totally accurate.

  • Farting in a puddle Ha Ha i like that term

  • give a home inspector a piece of paper............all of a sudden the world works by the rules of their books. Ever been in a horrid dry winter? Some cold places run humidifiers all day that barely help. If a builder runs his vent to the outside of an house HE IS AN IDIOT, do you realize what wind pressures do on and exterior run shtter fan? The fan flap clanking all day, losing air. Exhaust the things up to near an attic vent, roof vents are designed to release moisture from the home.

  • I use an indoor dryer vent for energy savings and HUMIDIFICATION in the WINTER ONLY. Our home is unbeleivably dry...I have to humidify continuously during cold months and have great difficulty raising the humidity even 1 or 2 points. Clothesline all other times. NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. You have to be careful and mindful...it works and works very well. Quit acting like such an authority.

  • I just put in a dryer exhaust and proud to say I passed! though I went 15' to exit. Would a vertical exhaust be acceptable? BTW this video proves my girl was correct so the cat has to go...

  • this video is some what informative but as an air conditioner mechanic I would have to disagree that the lint trap is a definite mold creator. Some houses can not maintain 30% relative humidity regardless of outdoor humidity or indoor devices adding humidity. That being said other "tighter" sealed homes have trouble dropping below 50% RH without the use of de-humidifiers.

  • A lint trap can be a great thing for a house with generally low humidity levels and an electric dryer. Also something as simple as taking a shower can cause issues in a house with high RH. Bottom line is, yes these dryers must be properly vented but you really could cut all of your videos down into basic common knowledge that mold and dust make you sick. Almost everything in the home adds or takes away from the RH and all of these things are carefully considered.

  • This guy tells it like it is......5 stars!!!

  • I like this language. Explaining it like the average person to the average person. 5 Stars!

  • Very, very good, Marko! I HATE microscopic bugs!

  • From one home inspector to another that was a fantastic video!

  • Comment removed

  • did he call them shit mites??? thats funny!!!! but true!! very good job!!!

  • It's like farting in a puddle of water. GREAT! this video was very informative. Thanks

  • shut tat fuckin God crap up...its all about getting money and fuckin pussy!

  • thanks marko...keep up the good work.... little things i did not know, now i know

  • I'm looking into starting a dryer vent cleaning biz in my town. How do I get started ?

  • Duct cleaners and chimney sweepers already offer those services....I'm sure where you live there are several competeing companies. You could consider boxed furniture assembly etc. in customer homes. Far less competition...and more lucrative

  • I told my wife that the gas dryer vent can be used to dry her hair!

  • Thanks for the informative vid.

I have a basement level that happens to be above ground. I'd love to vent the dryer out the side wall which looks to be about 10" thick solid concrete. Any idea how or if I can make a hole?

Right now there are small water pipe holes running through but nothing 4" round.

  • I have a dry heat situation, rather than running a humidifier couldn't letting the dyer vent run inside counteract the effect? Especially in winter my nostrils are so dry. I have been running the dyer vent indoors with a vent trap and never seem to have any condensation on windows or anything.

  • You are lucky. Dryer vents also release lint and indoor airborne contaminates. I would not do that. Maybe you take a longer shower and leave the door open. Make pasta for dinner. Buy some plants and water them. Most people have moist homes rather those very dry homes.

  • You obviously don't live in a climate that gets cold in the winter. Here in SD everyone runs a humidifier in the winter as the air gets very dry in the house. Without it you would have cracked hands chapped lips, and dry cracked nostrils.

  • @Clevelandmarko Not everybody lives where you do fella. In the winter in KS, the air gets so damn dry, static, cracked lips NASTY DRY. Running your dryer vent indoors is 100% FINE, if you keep track of the overall humidity levels. I did it for years and never had anything close to mold issues. Ever seen a HUMIDIFIER, everybody uses them in cold dry climates, EXACT same thing as the dryer vents. Indoor contaminates? Lies. Move to the mountains, tell us about most people having moist homes.

  • Like farting in a puddle.... LOL!!!

  • Isn't that CLASSIC!!

  • i love pie

  • High Humidity + Carpet + Pets = Dust Mites and fecal pellets. These fecal pellets go up your nose and make you sick. Oh the cat dander is Dust Mite Food.

  • Great educational...What an Ugly cat... it has no fur...of course , I believe its' the dander that causes allergies and resperatory problems. A~

  • Don't let those no fur cats or dogs trick you. They still have dander, odor, and saliva.

  • Once again, an excellent video showing some serious issues to be dealt with. Mushrooms? Farting in a puddle? Fecal pellets? Eww! Thanks though. Good info.

  • Great video. Interesting truths about the damage from the humidity from a in house "trap". Client on the last inspection had the bucket style-- with a wall covered in "black organic substance" (aka Mold) behind the dryer. DUH.
