  • I like the visual art?!

  • Yee all need to follow my books of faith ...MAD magazine !

  • What is the painting (& by whom) shown @ 4:38-4:43? Also, thanks for the post.

  • Bullshit, the bible has endured because it has the power to allow men to do unspeakable evil and escape punishment. Its is a talisman of evil and corruption it is the ultimate heart of darkness and THAT is why it has endured.

  • @mkr32208 How truthful. The Bible is the most vile collection of books supporting genocide, infanticide, and many other criminal acts. Anyone who supports the bible as a book of morals is in truth and immoral and vile person.

  • No other book has been so chopped, knived, sifted, scrutinized, and vilified. What book on philosophy or religion or psychology or belles lettres of classical or modern times has been subject to such a mass attack as the Bible? With such venom and skepticism? With such thoroughness and erudition? Upon every chapter, line and tenet? The Bible is still loved by millions, and studied by millions. - The Forerunner

  • An old statesman and warrior said, ‘Sire, the church of God is an anvil that has worn out many hammers.’ So the hammers of infidels have been pecking away at this book for ages, but the hammers are worn out, and the anvil still endures. If this book had not been the book of God, men would have destroyed it long ago. Emperors and popes, kings and priests, princes and rulers have all tried their hand at it; they die and the book still lives. - The Forerunner

  • Infidels of eighteen hundred years have been refuting and overthrowing this book, and yet it stands today as solid rock. Its circulation increases, and it is more loved and cherished and read today than ever before. Infidels, with all their assaults, make about as much impression on this book as a man with a tack hammer would on the Pyramids of Egypt. - The Forerunner

  • The Bible is not the book of the month. It is the book of the ages.

No book has ever had as much opposition as the Bible. Men have laughed at it, scorned it, ridiculed it, burned it, and made laws against it. Many a man has preached the funeral for the Bible. The only problem is that the corpse has outlived the pallbearers. - Adrian Rodgers

  • christian beliefs are fucking nuts, like all religion

  • What is the hellish artwork during the fifth minute?

  • @FreeInquisition "Judith Slaying Holofernes" by Artemisia Gentileschi.

  • @RealityScope Thanks. I meant the scenes from 5:20 to 5:40, but that one is interesting, too.

  • i don't really agree with CH on this. myth, as stated by Levi-Strauss, is a way to united opposing contradictions which can not be solved. science will never root out religion unless it roots out humans as well.

  • Christians won by making man into a victim making man feel guilty for his nature such as seeking pleasures which is motivation to survive with out that people feel depressed and anti-life no wonder there was the dark ages people were depressed and deprived of there pleasures.

  • One of Hitchens best moments.

  • Brilliant work.

How anyone could claim to know the mind of god (if we had any reason to believe that there was one) and keep a straight face is beyond.

There is no responding to this argument so well put by Mr Hitchens, there remains no rational basis for faith.

Believe if you will but dont claim that there is a sensible reason for doing so.

  • well ...

nothing more to ad ... is there ?

    Keep goin Mr.Hitchens ... just keep goin´...

all the way ... please , thank you !
