JUST as a simple point of reference, the 1915 exhibition hall dome was NOT built of steel reinforced concrete. Steel rebar, compression reinforced, concrete did NOT exist till the 1940s.
Take a look closely, and you can see the STEEL is NOT rebar, it's a pretty thick steel FRAME, against which pre-cast concrete shells were tilted up and fit into place to make the exhibition hall dome.

I'm not sure why someone gave you a negative comment when you are absolutely correct. When they were building the towers the engineers proudly acknowledged the fact that they were building them to withstand an airplane hitting them. You are right.
You know, skyscrapers are designed so that fire won't make them collapse. There was this one fire that lasted 18 hours in a skyscraper and the building didn't collapse. Many other fires have happened in skyscrapers and they have never collapsed, until the WTCs. The kerosine or the office fixtures just don't burn hot enough to make a steel frame soften too much. Maybe poor design with the WTCs or it was a coverup of some sort.

The WTC's steel was the building's core, it held up the weight of every floor above it. In the initial impact from the planes the structure was significantly weakened then the fire from jet fuel and office fixtures in the building softened the steel until it couldn't hold that weight anymore.
As you can see Genbaku Dome is not load bearing, its at the top and even when softened by the nuclear explosion only had to hold itself up until it cooled.

If the planes hit the towers near the roof, they wouldn't have collapsed. However they hit them near the middle, so it only takes logical thinking on why they collapsed. Because of the load from above. Its obvious.
Same goes for WTC 7...the collapse of the towers scooped out part of the base of WTC 7, in effect after many hours of burning, it was unable to hold the giant load from above and eventually collapsed.

hey, you raise some valid points, but i must say there are some things to consider. first off, Design of the structure: a circle is the most efficient shape possible for anything. in this case a semi circle, is very strong. the wtc is a box design that supports vertical weight. and if any of the support pillars are damaged, all that weight on top is only going to bend the steel as it heats up. yes hiroshima was about 7200 Deg F, but it only last for a few seconds. the fire inside was sustained.

just one thing. i'm not an expert on the numbers or the mental tolls that these two instances would have created. but...considering each countries own ties of blood and cultures..i'd say that the hiroshima bombing was more damaging than 911.

The steel in the WTC1 and 2 had much more wheight to hold up than the steel in the Hiroshima building. Because the concrete dome already had blown away from the steel structure, it just had to hold itself up, and it could have been red glowing without collapsing.

Look at it this way, the beams were designed to a certain weight, like you standing on a peice of ice. stand still nothing happens, jump you fall through.
what causes this, inertia. when you jump on the ice, the ice cannot hold the added weight of the impact, the ice breaks, and your body continues to fall. That is the whole idea on the pancake theory. But, not only did 1 floor impact the floor below it, many floors that were being held by the weakened beams fell at the same time.

JUST as a simple point of reference, the 1915 exhibition hall dome was NOT built of steel reinforced concrete. Steel rebar, compression reinforced, concrete did NOT exist till the 1940s.
Take a look closely, and you can see the STEEL is NOT rebar, it's a pretty thick steel FRAME, against which pre-cast concrete shells were tilted up and fit into place to make the exhibition hall dome.
More like a Geodesic dome, than rebar reinforced concrete.
The concrete would have shattered like eggshell.

Bladezki- says it best. An atom bomb puts out a 'flash' of heat while 'kerosene' burns slowly when not aierated. Hiroshima was leveled by a shockwave and fires that went rampant after the blast. The twin towers fell from overexposure to heat which weakened the steel and the resultant impact damage that redistributed the structural weight.

It is not sustained, and most concrete structures have their interior shielded by the quick rise and dissipation of heat. Have you ever seen a plastic straw stuck in a concrete wall after an F5 tornado? 300 mph winds in a tornado can do that to a straw with low weight and not as much kinetic energy. Imagine what a Boeing can do to concrete.

You know, skyscrapers are designed so that fire won't make them collapse. There was this one fire that lasted 18 hours in a skyscraper and the building didn't collapse. Many other fires have happened in skyscrapers and they have never collapsed, until the WTCs. The kerosine or the office fixtures just don't burn hot enough to make a steel frame soften too much. Maybe poor design with the WTCs or it was a coverup of some sort.

The WTC's steel was the building's core, it held up the weight of every floor above it. In the initial impact from the planes the structure was significantly weakened then the fire from jet fuel and office fixtures in the building softened the steel until it couldn't hold that weight anymore.
As you can see Genbaku Dome is not load bearing, its at the top and even when softened by the nuclear explosion only had to hold itself up until it cooled.

The heat was 4000 degrees C around the dome.
It was around 1000-2000 C in the wtc.
The steel frame in the wtc wasn't only hot, but under much more pressure than the hiroshima dome, and for a longer period of time.

If the planes hit the towers near the roof, they wouldn't have collapsed. However they hit them near the middle, so it only takes logical thinking on why they collapsed. Because of the load from above. Its obvious.
Same goes for WTC 7...the collapse of the towers scooped out part of the base of WTC 7, in effect after many hours of burning, it was unable to hold the giant load from above and eventually collapsed.
So stop comparing two completely different thinks and go get some intelligence.

They would not of disintegrated completely into powder which happened on 911. That kind of disintegration takes high explosives. Well, first of all, the WTC weren't the first buildings to collapse from fire. It's happened before. However, WTC 1 and 2 were the FIRST buildings to ever have a plane slice through them at 500-600 mph with tons of fuel.
It doesn't look like you know why the WTC collapsed...the impact zone was being weakened for hours by the fires, add the extreme load from above, you got a collapse.

The second one to be hit-the first one to collapse- burned for only 52 minutes or so. Anyway, the areas below the crash site were completely intact. if you watch the documentaries on wtc you would see that the beams were coated with flame resistant material that was knocked off by the jet impact and the outer walls were the main support feature. 1 floor heats and cant hold the other 50 above it. xfig85 makes a good point, different structures, different requirements. my real question is why are you advertising your garbage mixed with nuclear impressions and flagging it with arab writing.

hey, you raise some valid points, but i must say there are some things to consider. first off, Design of the structure: a circle is the most efficient shape possible for anything. in this case a semi circle, is very strong. the wtc is a box design that supports vertical weight. and if any of the support pillars are damaged, all that weight on top is only going to bend the steel as it heats up. yes hiroshima was about 7200 Deg F, but it only last for a few seconds. the fire inside was sustained.

The steel in the WTC1 and 2 had much more wheight to hold up than the steel in the Hiroshima building. Because the concrete dome already had blown away from the steel structure, it just had to hold itself up, and it could have been red glowing without collapsing.

Negative batman, the bottom was not injured, provide resistance from the building "falling on it's face" The debris fell floor by floor, not at freefall speed like many truthers try to claim, the top debris, however did, greating this illusion. The base of the towers can clearly be seen, intact, while the top of the towers crumble.

No, the fire didn't soften the whole steel structure, only the ones where, i don't know, the freaking plane hit. People in your shoes always try to put the blame on one thing or the other, either the impact or, usually, the fire. Both happened. Many steel beams were taken out without the fire from the impact, the fire softened many more. Look at it this way, the beams were designed to a certain weight, like you standing on a peice of ice. stand still nothing happens, jump you fall through.

what causes this, inertia. when you jump on the ice, the ice cannot hold the added weight of the impact, the ice breaks, and your body continues to fall. That is the whole idea on the pancake theory. But, not only did 1 floor impact the floor below it, many floors that were being held by the weakened beams fell at the same time.
