  • Song Pls ?

  • @1dabete

Comptine d'Un Autre Été by Yann Tiersen

  • Panenka means doll

  • 8 people are germans :D

  • @stk5552003 It's football, i mejor en sudamerica futbol, ademas It's play by all people in the word.

  • Personally I was 9 yrs old and I was ruling for Germany, but Hanes screw up everything and Czech difense was very solid.

Anthony Panenka is the only player in the world that has shoot 54 penalty kicks in his career and lose none.

Czechs must be proud of him.

    Greetings from Albania,maestro Panenka!

  • Panenka wasn't who shot the penalty.

    It was Chuck Norris.

  • what's the name of the first song?

  • the lines so close, could have been an epic fail.....now an epic god

  • Your mum is shit.

  • There is no practical benefit to this penalty. Hitting it hard down the middle the preferable. This penalty is all about the pomp.

  • @BandWagon1987 Panenka did not think this way. His philosophy was: we're playing tonight for the people who paid to watch. We're to entertain. He was an entertainer. He's stayed a little boy with fantasy. Football should be about fun. Because of the Iron curtain the Germans had no idea he had practised it and scored this way in league games. He says, I knew it, I was not 100% sure, I was 1000% sure the goalie would not be able to stop the ball

  • @BandWagon1987 He told to Ivo Viktor (The Czech goalie) the night before final that should there be penalty shoot-out he would do "the falling leaf" as he'd called this penalty. Viktor was close to having a heart attack. He begged him not to do it. But Panenka was never nervous about the game. It's like a modern myth, every nation needs legends and stories and fairy tales

  • It takes as much guts as it does selfishness. If he had missed, it would have been because purely because he was arsing about.

  • @molly0000000s

If you had watched more carefully, you'd hear him saying he had practiced it before and was more than 100% sure about it (Well, might be that you don't understand Czech or Norwegian language). It was not about showing off, humiliating oponent or being reckless.

  • @OssianKalewall England practice penalties more than any team, you still wouldn't bank on them to win them!

  • @molly0000000s Easy, I was just commenting the "arsing about" part ;) My point there was to say he didn't do anything reckless or just to show off. I didn't say he'd be always succesfull. He could fail as good with normal shot...

  • Why is everyone speaking backwards in this clip?

  • What a legend this is why the Czechs produce some of the Worlds best Technical players.

  • whichs that song?

  • @Frangustina Artist: Yann Tiersen Song: Comptine d'un autre eté :L'Apres Midi

  • this guy is too cheeky

  • I remember when Totti tried the same trick and made a COMPLETE arse of himself! The keep just stood perfectly still and caught the ball.

    How we laughed...

  • Grande maestro!! Balls of steel!

  • anyone knows the name of the song?

  • @adalcantu Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre ete watch?v=IyCRJmerW1Q

  • Ten je náš a vždy bude!!!

  • RAPID VIENNA

Antonin Panenka - one of us!!!

  • Panenka ten kdyby to nedal mu rekl tak by dostal do drzky ale todle bylo kopnuty tak ze se brankar mohl este vratit :)

  • Panenka is the father of this penalty, yes he is the innovator and all the others are imitators.

  • Sure I have seen this sort of PK taking before (Zidane, Abreu, etc), but to see the original, the "inventor" do this, is still stunning.

  • TO see the fucking penalty -> 3.17

  • @Drakke11 lool ,i was thinking the same lol

  • Uruguayan Loco Abreu did this in South Africa 2010 WC

  • @borombon was it has good and not in a finale!!!!!

  • I think that was one of the most beautiful moments of football. Antonin Panenka is well gifted legend.

  • a player from Uruguay did this few days ago on the world cup against Ghana.

  • Why is he limping? His football career took the better of him?

  • I have balls of steel too.

  • @rauldurand nooooooooooooooooooooooooot lol

  • what is the song please?

  • @TheLichar The song is "Comptine d'un autre été: L'après-midi" from the "Amélie" soundtrack, composed by Yann Tiersen.

  • @marcol68 Muchas gracias! Me hace orgulloso.

  • Some of the posters on here are completely missing the point. Yes, since 1976, a number of the world's best players have used this style of penalty (Zidane, Totti, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho etc), and so have amateur players on parks around the world. The point is that Antonin Panenka, a marvellous, graceful footballer was the FIRST. He invented this penalty. Legend.

  • @tvdd1973

    True, mate, true...

In this document, they asked him if he knew it would be successful penalty kick, he answered: "I was 100%, not, 1000% sure it will be success because I have been training this shot for 2 years before this final and no one kicked it in this style before me".

  • respect to this guy. for scoring like that.

others have done the same. Postiga (portugal) against England in 04 Euro.

  • respect to every player but no Zidane, Ronaldo, or any one can pull this shoot like he did FUCKING AMAZING GOAL

  • WHAT? Zidane in the fuckin 2006 World Cup Final done it better, totally unsavable hit the bar and in!

  • @verygoodatlife "hit the bar" better?

  • german player Jörg Böhme did this too once and the goalkeeper tried to get back to the middle when he was already lying on the ground but he missed the ball by inches, was hilarious :D

  • @verygoodatlife Zidane just copied Panenka, the fact is Panenka was first one and all others are just copies (even with hitting the bar) , and that's all about it, it will always be Panenka's penalty

  • Awesome! I remember him when he was playing for Rapid and the final against Everton in 85.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • do you speake spanish?

  • why spanish..??

  • there are many people that want to know about this guy

  • he had balls of steel, trying it in a final match...

  • @butcher00000 that was serious guts. If the goal keeper had not dived, it would have been called the worst penalty ever.

  • Comment removed

  • @butcher00000 Zidane! Abreu!

  • the name of the piano song please?

  • Yann Tiersen - Amelie Poulain: Comtine d'un autre été

  • thx for this great vid :-)

    5 stars

  • in "el jueves" spanish humor graphic publication, this player has been recently mentioned: in a humor drawing, it appears a goal door, traumatized of having suffered this panenka's goal.

  • musel jsem se na to podívat, nedalo mi to spát :)

  • Yeah indeed... Apparently it's world class(?). I don't know why, but yeah...

  • would you dare to do it during the european championship final?

  • The reason it's so famous is because he had the guts to do it in the European Cup Final. Had he failed the penalty they could've lost the match. Czechoslovakia could lose everything they had done in that match and during the hole tournament just because of a single penalty.

If you get to score a penalty at a slightly important match, you'll feel the pressure. Not only from the other team, but also from your own teammates. In this case Panenka also had thousands of people watching him.

  • thousands of people?? or millions of people?? You gotta have guts to shot a penalty like that in an eurocup final. Awesome and crazy at the same time

  • Does someone PLEASE know what the music is for this, what a great piano piece!

  • It's a piece from the soundtrack of Amélie (Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain), the composer is Yann Tiersen.

  • You must have balls to take penalty like that in that game and against that rival

  • ANd during that (communist) era. Brave man.
