When you are bringing another dog into your home & you already have 3 big Pits or whatever, even 3 little Yorky's lol You have to respect the pets you have in your home also, you have to make sure they will get along & are happy & that will make a big happy safe family. I also try to treat all of our dogs the same, except 1 does sleep with mommy & daddy or our son & the others have their own beds & rooms. My aunt had a pitbull who was abused for the first 3 years of her life.
When my aunt got her, the pit was pretty sketchy, but about after a year she became friendly to everyone. Never did she bite or attack anyone. The only thing that was weird about her is that she would always be sketchy.
She is dead now. Died at 14 years old.
Just saying that all dogs are different. even those that were abused can learn to trust people again.

my pitbull grew up with 20 other dogs in a brooklyn housing project,she had to fight for food that was very little,when we got her she was 38 punds and 21 in dog years,in 2 months she is now 60 pounds and its nice to know that animals dogs besides pitbulls are being saved

I hate how people are like that. Acting as if animals are worthless, Abusing them. Hell, even if they don't abuse animals, most people I know barely rank animals above inanimate objects. They give me funny looks whenever they learn that I VALUE their lives. My aunt had a pitbull who was abused for the first 3 years of her life.
When my aunt got her, the pit was pretty sketchy, but about after a year she became friendly to everyone. Never did she bite or attack anyone. The only thing that was weird about her is that she would always be sketchy.
She is dead now. Died at 14 years old.
Just saying that all dogs are different. even those that were abused can learn to trust people again.

@MrLukedanger Did my research, and yes you are right, they do not have locking jaws, but they are much stronger than you. You can "tame" wolfs but you can not make them domesticated. Pitbulls have been breed to fight, so they are naturally untrustworthy, I don't care how "nice it acts." A lion can "act nice and be raised to be nice" but it will attack without warning. Pitbulls are the same way. If you really want to get to the root of it, blame the idiots that made them the way they are.

This is so awful! I have two english bulldogs and my godmother has one. Grandpa, grandson, and great grandson. They love each other so much! They are such great dogs! My sister and her bf have pitbulls, and actually, my bulldogs get along GREAT with them. Theyre a big family. It all comes down to how your raise your dog and how you treat them. I got a dog that was part pitbull but looked nothing like pitbull and when she was almost 1 my uncle saved her after being thrown on to the rode in a bag, and when they took her to the vet they said she would die but we kept her and she is now healthier than anyting and in august it will be her 5th human year birthday!!!!

The sad thing is so many people don't want to adopt bull breeds because of the stigma cruel dog fighters have forced upon them, yet the breed often needs rescuing the most. I don't know about you, but every pit bull I have ever come into contact with has been a huge sweetheart. The only reason bull breeds are viewed as "aggressive" is because they are very strong and dog fighters exploit this feature.
