I grew up in Jersey City NJ in the 1950s we lived in the Greenville section of Jersey City on Eastern Parkway off Ocean Ave. When my mother and I took the clothes up on the roof to dry I could see New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty but I just took it for granted as it was part of the neighborhood. More to come
back in the 50s my mother and father grew up in north jersey my mother lived in bloomfield on hendrix place st and my father lived in irvington not far from the lionel trains factory and i came about in 1980 and we lived in a garden apt in east orange untill late 1988 we got a house and moved to south jersey i hated it down here for many years it took me a long time to get use to it but i still kinda miss it up there with family even though alot has changed up there thanks for posting the video
I recall the Christmas Eve blizzard of 1966. It was exciting. I was 11. My sister lived on Van Reipen Ave off Tonnele Ave where kids were going down the hill in their new sleds Christmas morning. Last White Christmas I saw for years since we moved back to Florida the following August.

Thanks for doing this. I grew up in Jersey City in the 1950s and 60's. This brought back many memories of the long ago and far away.

Reminds me of Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase went up to the attic and looked back fondly at the old videos of his family.
