  • I grew up in Jersey City NJ in the 1950s we lived in the Greenville section of Jersey City on Eastern Parkway off Ocean Ave. When my mother and I took the clothes up on the roof to dry I could see New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty but I just took it for granted as it was part of the neighborhood. More to come

  • I recall the Christmas Eve blizzard of 1966. It was exciting. I was 11. My sister lived on Van Reipen Ave off Tonnele Ave where kids were going down the hill in their new sleds Christmas morning. Last White Christmas I saw for years since we moved back to Florida the following August.

  • I lived on Gautier Avenue near Lincoln Park.I went to PS 17 and Dickinson :)

  • Thanks for doing this. I grew up in Jersey City in the 1950s and 60's. This brought back many memories of the long ago and far away.

  • @DF0302 ...You are very welcome. We lived on Halladay St. when that was taken in the 50's...:)

  • Reminds me of Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase went up to the attic and looked back fondly at the old videos of his family.
