  • mmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy this kitty looks yummy but someone is watching my ill just c if it tastse good

  • i dont think he/she is shure if they should eat cat?

  • Love how the big dogs are great with other animals.

  • TAKE THAT MOTHER NATURE!!! WOOOOOT XD <333

  • Another thing to consider when you get a dog is lifespan. When I was a kid we had a st. bernard and she died of old age when she was 7. Sometimes smaller dogs have longer lifespans, and the horrible pain of losing something you love doesn't happen as fast. I don't mean to be down, but I think yoiu should think about it.

  • tHAT DOG HAS SOME INSANE INSTINCTS! hE KNOWS BABIES CAN'T GO TO THE BATHROOM BY THEMSELVES, THEY NEED TO BE LICKED TO STIMULATE THEM TO GO TO THE BATHROOM (oops caps lock--haha) That's so super sweet!

  • @MissDolittle: I'm 19. I am a huge dog lover and have been in love with great danes for a long time. I want to get one when I eventually move out. At what age, do you think, is the proper time to get a dog? Especially one that is a great dane.

  • @airbeyonder18 I don't think age matters as much as the lifestyle. Are you going to live in an apartment or a house? Will you be gone all day at work? Will you be able to pay for the enormous amounts of vet bills and food bills? Those are the tough ones. Danes don't do well alone all day and the bigger the dog, the bigger the damage when neurosis and separation anxiety starts to turn up. Research the breed, find out their needs and priorities and match it with your lifestyle. Adopt, don't buy!

  • @MissDolittle Interesting. Why Adopt?

  • @airbeyonder18 To save a life. Most shelters are kill shelters and euthanize 5 million dogs and cats every year in the US. Large dogs usually go first because they are high maintenance. In most cases the bond is stronger between owner and dog because you know every day that you did a good thing by saving that dog's life. For the price of one dog from a breeder you could save at least 5 dogs from getting killed at a dog pound.

  • @airbeyonder18 This is late but I was reading the comments. Also when you buy a dog from a pet store, you are supporting the puppy mill business which is absolutely horrifying. When you adopt, you save lives, but you also support a good cause and give one less reason to support a bad one.

  • How are Great Danes around Children? especially 2yr olds 1yr olds and a new born?? I'm asking cause we had a dog that was a lab, shepard, husky cross he was an older dog and he bit the 2yr old in the face she had to get stitches.

  • @zombieholic As with every breed, there are "good" ones and there are "bad" ones. For the safety of the child I would go with logic: "the bigger the dog, the bigger the damage".

  • @zombieholic great danes are actually very laid back and gentle breeds in general. lap/shepard/husky area all very high energy dogs that can react very quickly

  • @zombieholic a good family dog is a chesepeake bay retriever. they're great with kids, and my current one is super gentle.

  • @zombieholic

As someone who works at an emergency vet clinic, I can tell you...no matter the age of the child and no matter the age of the dog, they should NEVER be left alone together. We've seen many hurt animals and heard stories of too many hurt children. I have a great dane. She's marrrvelous with my best friend's small children, but I would never dream of leaving them unsupervised. We have seen pocket danes, like my girl and I've been snapped at over the counter by danes. Just depends.

  • @zombieholic It depends on how it was raised.

  • Gentel Giant =)

  • kitten: ARGH A GIANT NOSE

  • this is awesome!! thanks for sharing this beautiful moment!!

  • looks like her eyes are open, and she is moving around ok, so that would make her at least 2 weeks old as kittens eyes do not open until 12-14 days.

  • none of the other cats in that neigbourhood will ever pick on that little dude while he's around

  • he is not babysitting, he is tasting! ;)

  • :) So cute!

But...this kitten has at least two weeks ...

My dog also loves cats! :)

  • i feel bad 4 the kit cuz it is real weak and culd barely stand(dats y it was shakin)

  • The Big and The Small

  • whatabout bird nests! directly ON the engine of a tractor....under the helmet,,, a tractor being used every day ;-)

  • Thank for all your compliments... im a Dane ;-) sorry, i just had 2 say that!-))

  • Hahaha I love in the beginning, your Dane's like "YOU WILL BE CLEANNNN!!"

  • Props for not mutilating the dog's ears.

People that cut off their dog's ears should be fucking killed.

  • Funny how at the end the kitten is moving closer like...

"Let's see if Olliver's got some nipplez!"

  • nomnomnom

  • Hey, aww he loves that kitten please keep it because the dog really loves him/her and that will break his/her heart if you take that kitten and give him/her to someone.

  • Oliver: :"I will teach you the ways of the Dane, young padawan."

    TT: "But I'm a cat."

    Oliver: "...go to your room."

  • Aww, =( the dog's being as gentle as it can be, but the kitten still seems terrified...

  • Olivers eye is bigger than the kittens WHOLE body!!!!

  • the cute factor wanes when you realize that the dane could break that cat with one swift move.

  • I ad a Dane & died last summer, we raised im since e as around 1month. No need to tell u dat e was part of our familly. One ting I remember was dat sometimes e its tings with is tail or paws without noticing it. Around 55 sec to 60 sec, e turns around & e almost bump the kitten with is paw. My question is: did e sometime flick the kitty without noticing it? Does a female would be rather gentle, because of er marternal instinct? Olvr seems to touch the kitty gently but not lick'n it.

  • It seems to me that Oliver seems more curious than providing motherly care. Note that I didn't see the other videos, so I cannot judge of anything. But knowing how Danes are, I know that he couldn't be rough with that baby. Mine touch, a young tame reddish squirl, with his snout. The squirl run 3 feets away & my dog looked surprise. It was so cute. Because of the space lack, the next paragraph is written in abbreviation, so it doesn't seem proprer english: dat=that, ting=thing etc, etc.

  • I love great danes theres a tape of my little sister about a year old pulling our great danes eyelids up and down and he was not botherd such a sweet bread it's a shame they don't live that long

  • The paw of the dog is as big as the kitten! :-D Lovely dog with cute kittey!

  • Tracy's like "C'mon I wanna walk around"

    Oliver " No,stay still"

    Tracy 'But I-

    Oliver " No"

  • Great danes = Gentle giants, loyal to their owners and very nice to strangers. Intelligent enough though to know what is a "threat" and what is "not a threat". :D

  • Don't inhale, Olliver!!!!

  • @mkmarsha2783 LOL

  • @mkmarsha2783 lol...

  • um are great danes good with and training ? cus i really adore this breed :D

  • @Skylark734 They are as good with training as any other dog...all depends on the owner :).

  • @Skylark734 train them when their young though or their size could be a probblem make sure they know not to jump up at people since they could cause some damage

  • aww... they even match! that's so sweet!

  • Little TT looks like a handful. She must be about three years old by now. Post some new pictures please?

  • @InweTaralom I only foster kittens and then adopt them out. Unfortunately I can't keep track of them all, so sorry, no updates on TT. But I'm confident she's doing great, because I remember that she went to a good home.

  • There are NO WORDS for how adorable that was, it was so sweet I think I got cavities.

  • i just gotta love great danes

  • Great Danes are the gentle giants! My Apollo was wonderful with kittens, cats, even rabbits.

  • Great Danes are amazing with kittens!

  • same color

  • Cute vid, but wish you had left the original sound in. No need to hear BTO. 4 stars.

  • that big dog will sniff in kitten :))

  • That kitten is more like 3-4 weeks old. Kittens start to open their eyes at about 2+ weeks. Fully opened at 3+ weeks.

    But still, extremely cute video.

  • That was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. A huge dog taking care a tiny little kitten. BTW, I adopted my cat from a rescue place. He was found with 5 other kittens underneath an abandoned car in a field. My cat is now 6 years old and tips the scales at 24 lbs. Needless to say, he is fat and happy and is sleeping on my desk as I type this.

  • aww that is the cutest i ever seen=)

  • With respect to all dogs (including small dogs) - I feel that it's "cuter" to see such a big dog (like a great dane) play so gently with a (tiny) kitten...I used to have a brindle great dane who seemed to know to be gentle around small children

  • I could never trust my great dane with a kitten...he's rough and careless...he'd probably stomp all over it.

  • how much are great danes?

  • Mine were free because they were adopted from a rescue shelter. I would strongly suggest everybody does the same.

  • Is Rainbow Wildlife Rescue Rainbow California?

  • No, in Stephenville, Texas.

  • at the rescue shelter here they charge a $500 adoption fee...

  • Usually between free and $2000, depending on where you go. On top of that you need all of the supplies, which cost more because everything needs to be 'dane sized'. If you get the dog from a rescue, more often than not they are up to date with their shots and are fixed (both of which cost more for big dogs), so you wouldn't have to worry about paying for that.

  • Sometimes free to $2000 we are having trouble finding a decent one with what we want for less than $3500, one bloke tried to sell us a perfect one for $5600, yeah i want what i want but thats half my new motocross bike there.

  • anywhere from $700 to $2000. ALWAYS buy your dog from a breeder that you have visited atleast 2 times. Make sure you visit as many breeders as you can and make notes while your there, ask about vacinations, diet, hips, bloat, torsion, papers, training.

  • And if they have anything other than the six accepted Dane colors, be suspicious, because having anything else is a sign of poor breeding practices. Dogs who are not black, blue, brindle, harlequin, mantle, or fawn are generally just as Dane-y and lovable, but they should be cheaper because they are not acceptable to breed, ever. But the pups are not any worse, it's just the breeder is (though sometimes it happens on accident).

  • My great dane is especially interested in videos with danes and cats lol

  • how much did you pay him for the night

  • He's taking 3 small rawhides or 1 big one for half an hour. Outrageous! Rumor has it that he's going to increase prices due to hard times.

  • so cute! its like a gentle giant

  • Like Andre the Giant?

  • aw your great dane is adorable! how old is he? ours is 10 (she'll be 11 this year) and we thank god everyday that she is still with us. they are such amazing dogs!

  • in this video Oliver is just a year old. He's 3 now. I rescued another Dane, a female we named Olivia, a year ago, she's 7 now. Hopefully she will be with us a few more years! There are videos of her too, if you search under my nick and Olivia. She was near death when I got her, heartworm positive too, but she made a remarkable recovery :).

  • precious video! reminds me so much of my beautiful girls. kashka is just like that, so interested in cats. she wants to nose them around all the time and they don't like it at all! it breaks her little heart! great danes are the most precious angels!!

  • have a child

  • great GREAT dane

  • Oh how awsome isn"t this? :)

I have a great dane male who is 6 years old soon..

And this video prows that the great dane dog is the most wonderful dog in the whole world! :)

I just love them... and our " LITTLE " Elvis..

  • Great Danes are awesome!

  • he can eat the kitten if he wanted to

  • NOM NOM NOM.....

  • I am happy to hear about another compassionate person who fosters animals so that they can live with a family and thrive. Good Karma is comming your way.

  • Comment was for Freakland guy -.-

  • I hope that kitten is alive and happy today

  • Here is the kitten 3 weeks after this movie was shot: watch?v=RzSM4XWgA8Y

Tractor Tracy was adopted out to a great home when she was 3 months old. I too hope that she is doing ok today, but unfortunately I can't keep in touch with every kitten that I raise and adopt out, since I do fostercare for our local animal shelters and raised literally hundreds by now.

There is one thing I teach all "my" kittens before they leave here and that is how not to be afraid of dogs, only careful.

  • OLIVER!!!

    good boy!

  • lol when the kitten tries to get up the dog licks it back down

  • shows how gentle and well mannered these dogs are

  • stop playing with your food!!! hahaha

  • its like, "doesn't really do much does it"

  • aww

  • lol its sooo cute!

  • wow..i love how urs doesnt try to eat the cats like mine does...we just got him about and month ago and he is 3 years old and has never been introduced to a cat....and now when he sees one...he attacks them :( so i have to lock my cats in a room all day

  • Watch the dog whisperer, cesar milan, on national geographics. There are lots of ideas in that show how to get a dog to tolerate and respect cats.

  • That shows me that you haven't watched much of the show, otherwise you wouldn't even say that he teaches or whispers anything to a dog. He rather shows the humans what a dog is all about and how to communicate better with the dog on his level, that's all. Has nothing to do with dog training, but I do agree that the title "whisperer" is a bit misleading and stupid.

  • I suppose it depends how you see it. To me he SHOWS the DOG OWNERS how to communicate better with their dogs and not train or in other words condition the dog.

Dog TRAINING to me is teaching a dog how to sit and stay and how not to shit in the house. Everybody can do that. Some people even need to call themselves dog trainer for that.

  • I definetly agree with you. There is no trainig of the dog, it is training of the human really. That is what Milan says in his show. I think it is great that he can teach humans communication towards their dogs and this video is absolutely beautiful. I am looking into getting a great dane myself, a playmate for my 8 month old jack russell

  • You must be one of those "ill give it loads of treats to get it to do what I want" trainers. Meaning as soon as a bigger treat comes around the dog'll run off after it. C.Milan is a pure genius of the dog owner world and if it doesnt work care to explain how he has had so many packs of dogs over his life? Smart one freakland.

  • Gr dude U need to shut the heck UP!.

They do have feelings ya know -.-. And yes they do react on our mental state of mind!. They react to everything U do,

And that show is awesome it's clear that you do not watch it intently if you actually decided to sit down and watch it and actually LEARN something you'd see it's not dog training.

By the way! MissDolittle great video ;D.

  • There is no dog like a Great Dane. The sweetest of them all - they are the BEST! Thanks for sharing.

  • Two peas in a pod. Verrry cool vid, 5 *****! Thanks!
