I don't see how the rear car will help the front car go faster....doesnt make sense considering the the "drag" has already left the car by the time the rear one has picked it up.. Also... With "cutting a hole" in the air, the rear car in effect loses down force in the front meaning it will have less grip and control around corners...
@frecko78 There are 2 types of drag, friction drag and pressure drag. The air directly behind the car is at lower pressure then the air at the front of the car, this difference in pressure causes a force on the car. When a second car fills this space the difference in pressure is smaller, reducing the pressure drag allowing the lead car to go faster.
@Ferrari123planb Probably 95% of Youtube visitors. It's an educational video for a specific audience. Do you go to math videos and say "who doesn't know how to find a cosine"?
@Ferrari123planb It's a matter of perspective. This video isn't designed for you. When you knowingly click on a clearly labelled basic video and then try to act cool by saying it's a basic video, it's like ordering a Happy Meal and bragging about how quickly you can do the word search. Don't be that guy.
Should have explained the dirty air thing caused by the same drafting that made the oval races suck those final years with this 10 year old dallara chassi.

@thisusersuck Slipstreaming is used in F1. With that the car in front won't go any faster.

@siler7 drafting is like the oldest trick in the book though. cosine is advanced mathematics.
