  • Well, it is clear that politicians can't run a country... Let's see if the Comedians can do better!

    :)

  • Baby, come over to England and be our Prime Minister instead. You'd make this country worth living in again! And I'd come and be part of your staff and I could be your Monica Lewinsky!!! I LOVE YOU STEPHEN! Come to the UK honey!

  • Sorry, but we kicked your ass 200 years ago. He's ours now bitch!

Next time, try not to suck so much.

    loljk

    Colbert/Stewart '12!

  • If he could find a way to get the nation to take him seriously as a candidate, imagine the possibilities of President Colbert, whether people like him or not (which I find amazing if they don't, because this guy is America's MAN!)

  • Stewart/Colbert 2012! the only ticket since James K. Polk that will abide by a zero bullshit policy.

  • sorry jesus colbert is my god now! lol

  • LOL!!! This is awesome!XD

  • he'd be way better than Obama. I'm dead serious.

  • He lost because of Florda >:(

  • The truth of it is, even though stephen is the funniest man on the planet, he is also very wise. i think he would be the best president out of all of the candidates that were running... and OBAMA if you're listening offer colbert a spot in your cabinet =)

  • I think he lost because of his show sucks that he lost=(I LOVE HIS ShOW!

  • I can't wait until this really happens, I'd literally cry. :)

  • red white and blue

  • hell ya

  • I'd just like to point out that red, white and blue, mixed together, make light purple.

  • @charmjam too bad those colors dont run son

  • I just want to point out that... if you combine red, white and blue, you get light purple.

  • President Stephen Colbert and

    Vice President John Stewart

  • yeah ! i never thought of that lol.. vp stewart ha..

  • i think he would school obama big! to bad the DNC wouldn´t allow him 2. i guess hes a very conservative democrate and wont fit into their agenda!

  • he brings us laugh, but why politics?

  • In 08 we're screwed with either candidate.

  • Colbert is such a awesome guy!!

  • This is so funny. I actually laughed so hard that I cried. Colbert rules.

  • COLBERT IS GOD

  • Haven't any of you seen, 'Man of the Year'?

  • Colbert the Man!!!

    speaks the truth

cause in the end it's all about God!

  • COLBERT IS GOD!!!

  • Way to go! Good choice of music. You would make him proud. I'll still vote for him this year if I can.

  • wasn't allowed on the ballot lolol

  • GO COLBERT

  • 1:51

I remember the episode when he had them on his show, fuuniest thing I ever saw

  • ALL HAIL COLBERT!!!

  • everyone put him as a write in canidate

  • what? VOTE FOR COLBERT

    COLBERT FOR '08!

  • I woulda voted for him!

  • I still think I might write him in for the election!

  • Truthiness rox!

  • to bad...

  • he would of done a great job hah

  • and he got turned down...

  • Our Glorius Stephen is America, (and so can you.)

  • For the future of America...

    For the future of YOU...

Write this man's name in on election day. Because you ARE America).

  • You make me happy. :)

  • every time i watch this it bring a tear to my eye(seriousely!)

  • whats the name of the song ?

  • Colbert for President of the World.

  • haha president of south carolina?

  • If and When Obama does not win the democratic nomination...Colbert would be the choice in the national general election as an INDEPENDENT write-in.

  • If and when the non-Obama candidate wins please consider Colbert as write-in!

  • Write him in!

  • I especially like the last bit! Colbert for President '08! I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for, him or Obama.

~This video makes me lean towards Colbert, though. :)

  • I most certainly would have voted for him.

  • Might have actually voted for him. That is why he was never going to be allowed to really run. People would have actually voted for him.

  • sucks that he got declined from the ballot

  • i love you Steven

  • Colbert + U.S. Presidency = Salvation for the American people! Damn Republicans and Democrats stopped Stephen because of his power!

  • colbert for president all the way

  • Colbert 2008!!! WWOOOOOH!

  • I doubt Colbert will make people laugh about the President more than Bush.

    JAIL COXUCKER BUSH

  • I couldn't agree more. Hey, I love your monacre.

  • Stephen Colbert...

  • Obama isent muslim... stupid... You better be joking.

    BTW Rudy G 08!

  • Wow...are you fucking serious?

  • dude what the fuck is wrong with you have the right to think what you think and believe what you believe but you dont have to rub that crap in everybodys face like that unless your just joking

  • im pretty sure he was joking

  • obama is in the united church of christ

  • fock me

  • Stephen is my hero!!!! well, besides George Washington and Elvis of course.. haha COLBERT NATION FOREVER!

  • Whether or not he is a man of god is pretty irrelevant - he's a comedian and satirist. He may have been running for president for the comedy/surrealness of it. What you've seen is his TV persona - he may very well be religious in real life.

  • steven is my idol he is the best he is so funny and so true

  • Too bad the democrat oarty won't accpet him, I'm angry now >:(

  • .... isn't Stephen Colbert really democratic and simply just ... playing a super conservative news..person I'm pretty sure the democratic party would accept him and he would probably do well if it weren't for the fact that he really has no pull for the serious voters (not saying i wouldn't vote for him)

  • south carolina be mean! that would be so awesome if stephen were prez.

  • My God I'd like to see a Ron-Paul-free video. I hate the asshole because of his zealots! Spam addicted nutjobs!

  • Wow... way to be douche gunkusa. If you really want to contribute to Ron Paul's campaign then raise a valid point to discuss.

  • he didn't "stop" running. the south carolinian democratic party just disapproved his candidacy...

however, he probably had it planned to end that way from the start...

  • It's too bad he stopped running. If he still were running, I lived in South Carolina, and I was old enough to vote, I would totally vote for him. I guess it's better than voting for the "Serious" canidates who have no clue what they are talking about.

  • naw he dropped out of runnin :(

  • cthekb98, no offence but who are you to say what candidate(s) are or are not serious? Does Stephen Colbert have a comedy show? Yes, but since when does that not allow him to run?

    Is he over 35? Yes

Was he born in the USA? Yes

Has he lived here for the past 14 years? Yes

    Sounds like he qualifies.

  • See that's the point some of us are fed up with what both dems and republicans do. We rather see a person not influenced by political bs run the country.

  • Id like to see us get past the two team game of politics and acctually get things done. Seriously its pathetic as it is now, one side does whatever it can so the other side cant get anything done. Its 3rd grade "your not in my club" bs and its embarasing to have these people run our country while behaving in this manner.

  • Hahaha!

    You ASSHOLE!

Coke-snorting demented Cowboys with horse angst can be president.

    Brainless actors can be president.

    Peanut farmers can be president.

And some want some moronic bodybuilder to be president.

But an intelligent, humorous critic of all these IDIOTS can't be, right?

    IMBECILE!

  • Exactly my point trakkaton

  • ... hardly eloquent, but very good point, trakkaton

  • need to make it like 1o seconds longers so it will say "red white and blue"

  • My original is, youtube in all it's glory cut the last few seconds off of it.

  • i wish he could run, but alas, they turned him down. He drowned his sorrows in the cheesy goodness of Doritos.

  • yeeees... do you have anything INTELLIGENT to add?

  • What, people can insult our current president and call him the anti-christ and an idiot but I can't have a little fun? Holy crap I really have nothing against Colbert, I was just bored so im soooo sorry if I offended you...

  • i know your being sarcastic, but i'm just so sick of people spamming these things with asinine one line arguments, and that goes for ANYONE, regardless of your views

  • Stephen plays a character on his show and that is it. He does have a seperate personality that is his own and can be much more serious to make decisions. We shouldn't judge his policy making on his character that he plays on the show but his true character.

  • Do you think that any successful politician has every made it to top job by being himself? The personalities you see offered to the public as candidates are constructs of the parties PR people and nothing more, the only decisions that Bush actually made himself during his presidency were a. invading Iraq and b. opposing abortion. The rest were his adviser's doing. Both the personal decisions were utter disasters. Your point?

  • i vote for stephen no matter who he runs under

  • I think it sucks that the dems wouldn't even let him on the ticket let the man run if he wants to and the people decide!!

  • This country is doomed

  • doomed if Colbert doesn't win '08

  • What are you talking about he's a comedian

  • exactly

  • Are you guys just stupid or playing along way too much

  • define too much :)

  • look peeps... Colbert has a better reasons for running. Hillary would increase taxes and stuff like that. Colbert may be a funny man but he will bee a hell of a lot better than bush. And thats from the heart.:P

  • Clinton recognisees the need for major upheaval, and that requires major funding. As an outside observer, your country is going to crash and burn if you don't do some major restructuring soon.

  • Hillary Clinton is the Devil.

  • No, he ( Cheney) is in power now

  • Hillary should be shot, very smart woman... but only in it for herself

  • yeh, i've wondered about that, but at the same time, that'll motivate her to do a good job, in order to be remembered

  • True enough, but what politician out there can really be trusted? Most of em are out there for themselves.

  • Ron Paul

  • Yeah! Go Colbert!

  • Lol you have to know politics to make fun of them IMO, and I honestly would rather see him in office then Hilary or Obama. He has my vote!

  • you just dont get it do you...

  • dont worry, that person is probably some 12 year old who doesnt even have the right to vote.

  • I would say he's doing this to prove a point. i.e. that the political process is so absurd in it's current state that even a funny man, emulating a very absurd political pundit, can be a serious part of it... it's a wake up call if you will..

  • I think he should start a ticket with Jon Stewart and Dave Chappel... they would get votes which shows how pathetic the race in '08 really is.

  • Hahahah I love your usage of the song.. totally holds up the amazing satire! Excellent vid!

  • 2008 is indeed going to be a joke, but it isn't going to make me laugh, I'm afraid.

  • No i didn't DarkGhost... Only dumb ones did. Not to mention Kerry wasn't much better. Colbert could do a hell of a lot better job than Bush.

  • i can't believe they didn't let him on the ballot! what the hell?! & if anybody doesn't like Stephen colbert, then u r obviously on drugs because he's hilariously great guy

  • he was on the daily show and that is a very democratic show and he is democratic but I think

    he is running independent

  • He's running for both republic and democratic parties

  • if i was american i would vote for him, and hes not actually a red neck he uses his show to make fun of the rebulicans just as much as democrats, vote for the guy, you americans voted for bush

  • So was his request to be on the ballot denied?

  • The thing is though, you are doubting his ability as the President because of his comical nature. People don't know whether to take him seriously, or not. But, if you listen to the things that he says, he truely does know what he is talking about.

  • Although, that doesn't mean his decision making abilities will be sufficient enough to meet the standards that a presidential position requires. If he really wants to win this election then he needs to change his attitude towards it. So far he has just advertised the comical side of his personality. We need to know what his true intentions are.

  • Anyone should be able to run for president

  • anyone can

it's mostly that if you or I ran for president, no one would vote for us!

  • If YOU don't know what his true intentions are, you gotta be blind.

"Bears = godless merauding killer machines" = "I hate the terror scare tactics in this country"

He emulates BORe to proof that those people are rats by following through their argument and showing it to be absurd.

  • "...after about 40 minutes of discussion by top party officials, the executive council voted 13-3 to keep the host of "The Colbert Report" off the ballot." In the USA 13 people say who the next president will be!?! Crazy people are allowed to run, but not if they're funny? He tried to run as a Dem. How can you be sure he's not serious?

  • I wonder if they'll let him vote?

  • You get voted on if your running as the democratic rep.

He can still run independent, but he won't be able to run democratic or republican. I do think, that 3 votes for him is pretty good, since he's a comedian...

  • As i said above he is running for both parties but only in South Carolina.

  • Also to prove this on his show he filled out 2 contracts on his show for both parties.

  • he is bound to get the young vote, because people will think its funny. Which is a bad thing

  • lol, i like the picture at 1:45

    VOTE FOR COLBERT

  • Like Man of the Year, but this won't suck! I also like how the newspaper at the begining is actually entitled "Stephen Colbert"

  • i'd vote for him lol

hell of alot better than hilary clinton!

  • better than what we have now

  • i hope he gets the presidency at the end

  • It's a real run, but I don't think he seriously expects to win, outside of his state. Still, if things take off it might become more serious. I'm voting for Paul, but would happily vote for a Paul/Colbert ticket. =)

  • Afterall, though the man is an enigma, he does understand comedy and irony. And the two seemed to do well together in the interiew on his show.

  • yess colbert for prez!

  • i was going to vote for nader but he's not running so GO COLBERT!!!

  • OK...I got it...imagine this on bumper stickers and lawn signs everywhere...

Ron Paul * Stephen Colbert 2008

I like it so much...I'd vote TWICE!

  • Imagine a world where the people laugh with the President of the United States instead of at him...

  • Can you just imagine a world where the leader of the free world had an actual sense of humor?

  • if you want a comedy act look at the guy thats in the white house now

  • If you take his acting away, all the jokes, lack of being serious, Colbert is a genius.

  • We filmed and uploaded Colbert's full presidential speech given at the University of South Carolina.

    -thought you might be interested-

  • good vid but country music sucks soooo.....
