  • To be honest, I don't think this is cruel at all. It's actually a little silly, reading all of these comments. If the hamster didn't like it, it wouldn't crawl back in it. Hamsters aren't stupid. Like when a hamster falls off the second floor of it's cage, often the hamster never goes up to the second floor again because it's scared of falling again. That's what happened to mine and it's not like that with it's exercise ball. She seems to love it.

  • jajajaja sapo

  • why is this cruel? hamsters seem to like it.

  • This is Bobby in his wheel last night..... What am I doing wrong?

  • all the hamsters I've had had no problems running in the ball, but I've also seen them just chilling and cleaning themselves in the ball. I also noticed that they would run toward where their food is haha.

  • My hamster Bobby just sits in the ball... Last night I took him out and put him in the ball, I thought he went to sleep in there. I have to teach him to move around. Did your hamster start moving around on its own?

  • what i do is hold the open ball to the door of the cage and if my Cookie climbs inside, i know she wants to be in the ball. i always watch her to make sure she doesn't go poo or pee while in the ball, otherwise ill take her out. i never let her stay in there longer than 10 minutes and if she stops running or appears tired i put her back in her cage. i dont see how any of this is inhumane?? its better than her being stuck in that cage for the rest of her life, which seems more inhumane to me.

  • @crazitaco i let my hamster out running around on the ground as well, but if it's a robo it runs too fast and i can't catch it haha.

  • @crazitaco They climb inside because it's instinctive to them to crawl into caves, they're burrowing animals. That does not mean she enjoys being in the ball. Hamsters rely on their sense of smell, hearing and touch to find their way around. They have poor eyesight and in a ball their vision is even worse. Inside all they can touch and smell is the ball and all sights, smells and sounds are distorted by the ball. It's confusing and frightening to them.

  • Also, when they run into furniture and walls, it's like being in a car accident is for us. Their natural instinct is to back up or run away, then they hit something else. Those balls are poorly ventilated and the animals get overheated during exercise. The air vents that are there can cause crippling injuries to their toes and feet, including sprains, breaks and amputations. Provide a safe way for your hamster to explore and exercise.

  • lol its not cruel to put a hamster in a ball..... thats what they're made for dumbasses

  • @58Darklife Just because its made for hamsters to be put in doesn't mean its not cruel. Just like how leashes can be cruel in other ways too if you keep a dog on a leash, outside, in the cold. It all depends on whether the hamster wants to be in the ball or not. This hamster seems to want to be in there. I'm not sure but I agree that all these people are over-reacting.

  • my hamster once opened the enterance b came out..wen i was not a home! lol

  • I don't know the prices at your place, and, you can find a ball in pet stores, sometimes you can buy them with the hamster(s).

And yea the DO bite, but once you tame them they're quite fun and cuddly and cute :).

  • @kablah12

    dwarf hamster? 0.o

  • vote me if u think hamsters are a good pet

    8D

  • hamster like to eat cuddle run and sleep, thats what they like to do, the ball lets them run and explore without the possibilty of them being stepped on, getting into small cracks or stepping in/on anything sharp or sticky, hence the ball is a lovly thing for those adorable creatures,

  • putting it in a hamster ball isnt cruel. my mom thinks putting it in a sock is cruel but a ball? i highly disagree that its cruel. my hamster loves to run around in its ball.

  • not cruel. My hamster loves it. Everytime I open the ball. It will voluntarily jump in...

  • I have two Dwarf hamsters also and i was wondering if i could but both of them if a larger hamster ball??

  • that would be a bad idea one would want to go one way the other one then other way which may cause to fighting and tons of poop

if you have any other questions feel free to ask me

  • wots da best thing to feed dem if dey dnt eat da haster food u got dem part from da nuts in the hamster food.. also wots da best way to keep dem healthy :)

  • that would be annoying to both hamsters because what if they wanted to go opposite ways FIGHT!!

  • nice

  • You should really learn how to ignore these people. Hamster balls are fine, as long as it's in reason. After 10 or 15 minutes, take the hamster out of the ball, maybe even sooner. It's not "ANIMAL CRUELTY" as long as in addition to the hamster ball, you let him run around freely with your supervision. Trust me- I've had a hamster before and I have and have had many gerbils.

    Good luck.

  • Those balls are really bad I feel sorry for the hamster. They cant chose when they want to stop running so it is really cruel I can't understand what people find funny with it.

  • to be honest, at first i thought it was cute they are running in it. then ppl start saying its cruel and i take that as a considerations. but often times i find the hamster just chilling, grooming itselft in it.

also, i dont really put it in it anymore except the time i gota take it out so i can clean the cage.

  • @crazyhipop

same here i only put it in its ball when cleanen it out now

  • @Drusila fuck you if you cared about them you would get a wheel, so they can run around where they want without getting lost and they can stop it if they want

  • *sigh* i wish their were someone selling hamster balls here in our country...

  • my hamster always used to bang in to everything haha

  • hamster ball is not that too bad for hamster. only IF the hamster take too long in the ball about 20min-above the hamster could be stress. hehehe... so feel playing with your hamster with sort period of time. ^_^ i like your hamster... soooo cute. ^_^

  • :S who says its bad for them? It gives them exercise,, same as running in a wheel??

  • ive been told that you shouldnt put a hamster in a ball because it gets tired easily and it has no means of escape .. its dangerous

  • many ppl are saying its bad to put them in a ball too. but if its really that dangerous i think animal experts would have banned it already. but neways, i rarely put it in the ball ne more coz its getting old lol

  • only if u put it in for 10 mins + :)

  • does anyone know if 30 euro would be enough for hamster toys and stuff not including bowl water bottle and ball and food? ps im getting hamster on saturday 29th of november

  • One of our hamsters is really good at steering. The other one, not so much, but they really do like to run into stuff because the one who is good an steering sometimes decides to run into stuff anyway.

  • uh...doesn't the hamster feel pain when he bumps into the drawer?
