I just wanted to point out that the vast majority of prostitutes - children and adults - are victims of human trafficking. They are not willing participants in their own exploitation. Some adults may gravitate toward that lifestyle because of the promise of money, but the ones that stay only do so with the help of substance abuse in order to cope with what is happening to them.

If no data is available incentives and motivation is a good place to start. Promoting creativity and progress and discouraging dogmatism and stagnation.
Why do so many libertarians take this an attack? He sees a different conclusion to your plans than you do. That's all it is. Make your case for why his predictions wouldn't be the result and maybe you can change his mind. Don't start acting like liberals who feel everyone has to think their way. I consider myself libertarian but see things differently than a lot of libertarians. For example I am against FEDERAL drug laws. I believe that legistlative power should lie in the province(or state in the case of the US). The libertarian movement is full of too many liberals that leech off of them because they feel its the best shot at "legalizing it". I'm also pro-life, abortion is an issue that I feel goes far beyond politics.
That is to say that I think if federal bureaucracy were kept out of law enforcement, law enforcement would be doing a much better job at keeping the streets safe.

What programs are you talking about? Private insurers are the ones soaking their customers, while enjoying protection from anti-trust lawsuits. Libertarianism would work but only if a libertarian was president every other term the way democrat/republican is now.Because the democrats socialize everything the only way to free our society is to make it illegal to vote if you are recieving public assisance and have to be permanently sterilized if you recieve it for more than a year,that would be a fair trade for loafing off of other hard working people.

I just wanted to point out that the vast majority of prostitutes - children and adults - are victims of human trafficking. They are not willing participants in their own exploitation. Some adults may gravitate toward that lifestyle because of the promise of money, but the ones that stay only do so with the help of substance abuse in order to cope with what is happening to them.

I believe in experimentation and measurement of outcomes. Choosing systems based on available data or to generate data.

I consider myself libertarian but see things differently than a lot of libertarians. For example I am against FEDERAL drug laws. I believe that legistlative power should lie in the province(or state in the case of the US). The libertarian movement is full of too many liberals that leech off of them because they feel its the best shot at "legalizing it". I'm also pro-life, abortion is an issue that I feel goes far beyond politics.

Y'know, as an identifying libertarian, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly and Sara Palin *put together* couldn't convince me to return to conservatism. And this guy, with little more than an apartment, some kind of webcam, and an optimistic love for America the likes of which I've not seen in my lifetime, has made an excellent case for it.
This guy is good. I only wish I had anything to donate at the moment.

Gee I remember progressives fighting for health care reform from the first Clinton campaign in 1990 and onward. I remember Bob Dole saying "there's no healthcare crisis." Progressives are far from Johnny Come Lately on this issue. Oh and progressives were right about the folly of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. BTW, Dude why so tense? mrblifil: The healthcare "crisis" is that costs are rising. Democrats have NEVER proposed any cost mitigating measures in their legislation. Even now, the costs won't be curbed...we will just use tax money to subsidize more care. That my friend, is why people are so angry. Not because they don't want everyone to have the opportunity to be covered Those of us in experience in Govt. programs know how this will end.

What programs are you talking about? Private insurers are the ones soaking their customers, while enjoying protection from anti-trust lawsuits. I have yet to hear a conservative complain about industry-wide practices from the major insurers, who are holding the country hostage while enjoying obscene profit. Everyone's a libertarian until they have to wait in line at the ER for primary care.

Also, you and I both know that this man isn't GOD or the second coming. No miracles are going to happen in the first year. He said that things are going to get worse before they get better. So far the unemployment rate went up 1 1/2% then on December 4th it was reported that it went from 10.5% (roughly) to 10%, Babysteps.
