@thebyrd12 - I now have Long Tubes, Detroit locker rear and Comp 127300 Cams with beehive springs and am pushing high 11's with 90,000 miles on the car and 300 passes on the 1320.
I just posted a video of my car which is similar in mods except I have the stock 3.31 rear end in it and an off road X pipe. My best time was 13.392 and Im wondering how I managed to get close to yours with a lower gear and my only advantage being the x pipe. Did you have in issues with vibration at high speed with your 4.10? Im considering a 3.73.
@thebyrd12 Get 4.10 Gears, that will help your 60' times I love my 4.10's I ran at 143mph with no issues except I was running out of road at VIR. 3.73 may be Motive gears not Ford Racing, Motive gears are cut different and do make a whining noise. Don't Fear the Gear...
12.2 for a bolt on auto 3valve is great man / sounds like a nice gt to me .
If I can get the money together I am going to buy a used auto 06 and do a N/A build this comming spring .
I bought my 03 cobra in 06 with 11,000 miles for $20,000 I didnt realy have the choice of doing a na build on the cobras bottom end so I went the kennebell rout with it and couldnt be happier / but I would realy like to do a N/A build on a 3valve .
I hope you see high - mid 11's with bolt-ons and cams.
This was when it was stock, now I run 12.2 @ 110 with full bolt-ons and stock motor. I plan on Cams this winter but the engine is a stock 4.6L 3Valve V8
ok. I'm going to try launching at 1500. Do you just dump the clutch? Mine is a 08 w/ 3.55 K+N CAI Brenspeed tune and borla axle back. on stock tires I did 13.44 at 104.9 2.09 60'. I cut a 1.91 60' but missed a gear. I usually rev to 5000rpm and slip it in. but I will try this since you got a better 60 than me.
its just wise to turn o/d off with an automatic trans. or at least it was in my 04 GT. it has no effect on 1-4 ratios but if the car rpms enough to get into 5th it will kill his ET
of course that was a 1994-1998 convertible heh older model. Plus being a convertible takes away power considerably too <3 Newest model stangs are the best to date so far :D along with the original 67 models etc.
With 4 tens... maybe. Get some input from other racers that have modded the same way. Find out what your present final drive ratio is and use that figure in your queries. Good Luck! OH, and a large cam grinding company, maybe it's Crane, has found a way to virtually eliminate ring and pinion wear by using a process that they treat their cams with. Cost is around 200 $ per set but I wouldn't pass it up!
It's not hard at all to get a 13.3 in a Mustang GT, all you need is some simple bolt ons and you're good to get in the very low 13's. This person got a 13.5. Nice try at lying though...
nice launch man

It's an Auto.. I have a bad knee from a Motorcycle accident and can't use a clutch.

The '05 and newer Stangs are easily capable of mid 13's bone stock with a good driver. I should know because I've done it. No mods at all.

what it do when you turn it off?
bulldog190 5 years ago
I turn off the overdrive so that the 5 speed trans becomes a 4 speed. this changes the gear ratio.
2k05gt 5 years ago
disabling top gear has no effect on 1-4 gear ratio.
uyesu 5 years ago
i agree
StrokedGT 5 years ago
you are right, I never get close to red line in 4th, so the overdrive would never kick in, at lease not until I get my Supercharger :-)
2k05gt 5 years ago
100 $ says you won't redline in forth even with boost. ;)
uyesu 5 years ago
Cool, so even with 4.10 gears? I am also looking into a Tq converter.
