Well if your a musician and your advanced enough to be dealing with musical color, usign your knee is a more smooth vibrato than your hand which gives it slightly more of an edge. The cheat (the handle on the blade) that she is using looks alot more appropriate for using vibrato with your hand than alot of other ones on the market I find, too.

I play the saw using a semi soft striker bending the saw for different notes. I just tried your method and was surprised how easy it is. Thanks

just use any saw you to start off with, as long as it bends.

i started a on a crappy 55mm handsaw that sounded crap, and then moved onto one about the same size as she has in her videos. i just found mine at a flea market, and personally i think it sounds better than the saw lady's.
