  • Can you show more details from the part who moves the belts? Is itdone simply by friction or do you use the transportation holes of the belt?

    Thanks a lot :-)

  • 123jogger123 - that part that moves the tape is a cheap pneumatic cylinder (actuator) with return spring. There is a rubber pad at the tip of the rod which improves traction. Tape advancement is done by friction only. Go to Madelltech site and watch their videos.

  • I like it a lot. Could you please give some more details about "Z axis". I noticed that has some kind of suspension. How do you get the vacuum ? Axis of stepper it's drilled ?

  • @dandumit - yes, the stepper has hollow shaft. Got it from Madell along with the software and grabber board. They just started marketing the bundle on their web site. Vacuum is generated on demand by SMC ejector with two solenoid valves. One is for vacuum and the other is for blow off puff. Z-axis is quite heavy because of the 3hp spindle and I'm using air spring to counterbalance it. Otherwise the stepper can't develop meaningful acceleration.

  • great! can you please share some info about how you built it?

  • great machine, what is control software you use?

    b.r

  • The software+vision is from Madell
