Ati doesn't make very many cool graphics demos, but nvidia does... yet ati has the better graphics, I have ati. I have 5750 series, and everything looks so cool with nvidia demos, yet I can't run them because I have to have special hardware that ati doesn't have. For one thing, I wish that ATI WOULD MAKE JUST AS MANY GRAPHICS DEMOS AS nvidia, especially to keep me occupied.. lol.

@007FishBone Yes, it calls Adrianne demo by Nvidia, it's a really fucking old demo, from 2006. Back then I didn't have money for a fucking 8800, so I was playing with a (in that time) fucking old ATi 9550, today, I have the fucking 8800GTX SuperClocked, but it's so damn old, perhaps, in four years I finally will have a GTX480....

1 q. how come these amazing graphics run in realtime or 25fps!!!! while if you want to go 3d render a scene with the same quality as THIS it would take at least one second to render only one frame

@leviterande. It is because there is only '1' thing happening. A very small tank of liquid that's 200 pixels by 200 pixels or a single frog pre-rendered with a high polygon count and those polygons being morphed temporarily/stretched.

Nice effects on small scale = easy. Nice effects on large scales = very hard to program efficently. If you could make 40 frogs in a scene at once and have all them slapped randomly that would be impressive. One character, not so much.

@leviterande The way opengl and dx renders is very weird. Hacks are required to do simple things, and artifacts are introduced. Also this speed is only capable because gfx cards are specially designed to process things simultaneously.

raytracers are stuck just using a cpu, calculating one pixel at a time. Though reflection,refractions and shadows are simple in raytracers. OpenCL may help raytraces get better speed. Though I would like to see a powerful opengl renderer.

very nice and interesting demos by nVidia.I think these are the best ones.Because they trully represent the power of the 8 series.Can't wait the demos for the 9th series.They'll rock!'Cause i have 9800 GTX and,these demos run quite well!The demo with the frog is interesting because you can do what do you want with it,and the memory and pixel shaders are showing of the cards in that case!

Its very nice but i have given up trying to keep up with Video Cards. When i was in my 20's i could afford to fork out for a good Card, but when you get a bit older and things change, affording a Card like this and questioning yourself on just how much money you are blowing for one card suddenly becomes insane. So its a shame they charge so much money for these Cards when they never come anywhere near fully utilizing the power of the previous model/models.

are they .zip or .rar? if so, you need to extract them, if it was n installer, look for Nvidia demos in your program files

That's true, vista is virtually slower than xp, it uses much more memory, more cpu, everything.

In some games, the difference is between 5-20 fps.

But the real problem with vista is software compatibility. Many things i have here, can't be used because vista shows an error... It will need a service pack soon.
