  • the start of something....

  • Bwahaha.

Robert McComb was my geography teacher in high school. Rendering this sort of thing utterly hilarious.

  • thanks nzoz - love this song and clip - very hip for 83 - in my top3 oz bands (along with DP and Church)

  • didn't know this song - not on the albums.

    the triffids.the best.band.ever.

have listened to them for more than 20 years and never,NEVER been bored. wish i could say the same thing about some other worhies....

  • The Triffids and Friends Play the Songs of David McComb - a gig coming to the Arts Centre, Hamer Hall, Melbourne, 29 January 09. Its a tribute to the fine talents of David McComb from Rob and the rest of the band (Jill Birt, Martyn P Casey, Graham Lee, Alsy MacDonald). It'll include some of the original band slides and bits of Dave's poetry. Wish I had friends like Steve Kilbey, Rob Snarski, Mick Harvey, Toby Martin, Ricki Maymi, Mark C Halstead and Melanie Oxley! Ticketmaster for tix.

  • Reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen, and not without a sense of humor.

  • have you heard any other Triffids track besides this early effort? Explore a little further (1984 to 1987).

  • i love this band

  • I used to play Born Sandy Devotional to my workmates at a summer camp in Finland back in -86. They ended up loving it. It became the soundtrack to that summer. Saw them live too in Helsinki in 1987. Numero uno band of the late 80s.

  • uNOOb you should listen to their 3 best albums, Black Swan, Calenture and Born Sandy Devotional. The last 2 have just been remastered and released in Aust last year. I've been listening to The Triffids for 15yrs and never get tired of them. Also music similar but much darker is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

  • Just discovered this band. I'm liking every song!

  • Great song, hilarious video
