It's in the bill. You can find info on end of life consultations on page 425, section 1233. The effort to ration healthcare and to cut payments for care for patients at the end of life is throughout the bill. They want to save money, which you can't do by denying care to young, healthy people.

I have not read the bill and I maybe WAY off base but one of the purposes of a US Heath bill will be to deter ER visits for primary healthcare. You step into an ER and your bill is $250-500. What types of people would make the decision not to get health insurance? The young, immigrant and ignorant. So where do these people go when they have a cough or pain that does not go away. Or when you skate on rails or jump roof to roof. Or just don't want a hassle for info? The 2.5% pays back everyone!

If there was a public option, she could have switch to that and get the treatment she would have otherwise could afford).

I have spent a fair amount of time in Egypt and Dubai, from my relationships people there are no different then here, they hate many of our foreign policies but acknowledge it is our incompetants in government who we only have so much control over. Obama was well liked when he first took office, they were very excited about him but his popularity there has dwindled just like here.

It's in the bill. You can find info on end of life consultations on page 425, section 1233. The effort to ration healthcare and to cut payments for care for patients at the end of life is throughout the bill. They want to save money, which you can't do by denying care to young, healthy people.

Of course. It gives physicians financial incentives to discuss limiting healthcare for vulnerable people. The govt will set the rules and regs of these consults & they have a huge financial incentive to end care. Govt should not be involved.
The "death panels" remarks were not only directed at the end of life consultations, but Obama's stated goal of saving money by limiting end of life care. Tell me, what exactly happens to people when healthcare is limited near the end of their life?

There are currently 1500 insurance companies in the U.S. There is absolutely no reason to provide a govt plan to offer more choice. Obama and Congress use the language of "choice" to hide their agenda - a single payer govt plan.
Give people the option to buy into the private healthcare plans for govt employees, the same plan Senators and Congressmen enjoy. That's a good choice.

What is there to debate? Who in their right mind wants the government running the healthcare system?? Can you name one program that the government has run succesfully? Social Security broke, Medicare broke, Medicaid broke. The list goes on. I guess there are just some people who are such drones that they want no personal responsibilty and they want the government to run their lives. There's no sense ruining the greatest heathcare system in the world to accomodate those losers.

cephal, unlike most "supporters" of the plan, I've read hundred of pages of the plan(s).
In HR3200 they will penalize anyone without health insurance 2.5% of their income. Explain to us "paranoid victims" how forcing people without insurance to pay 2.5% of their income to the government and at the same time STILL leave them without insurance will improve our healthcare?

I have not read the bill and I maybe WAY off base but one of the purposes of a US Heath bill will be to deter ER visits for primary healthcare. You step into an ER and your bill is $250-500. What types of people would make the decision not to get health insurance? The young, immigrant and ignorant. So where do these people go when they have a cough or pain that does not go away. Or when you skate on rails or jump roof to roof. Or just don't want a hassle for info? The 2.5% pays back everyone!

Does it make my argument entirely wrong? That's $250-500 just sitting there. Stepping out the ER is a different thing. By the time these same GROUPS of people leave the ER the hospital is putting them on a payment plans for nearly $1000 or just straight out eat it! They eat it in the end. A visit that your local doctor charges $30-50! We can all read the bill but you'll come away with different means. I look at it from a humanitarian view some look at it as "get off my back, your on your own"

My diabetes II costs me nothing but fresh steaks and eggs. Stay away from the doctors and use diet and exercise to control diabetes. Doctors and drugs are a rip-off.
Most modern ailments of today are diet related. Very few of these happened 100 years ago.

The fact is the cost of health care is way too high(you may not feel it till you get hit very sick situation, my friend's sister who died 3 years ago who had insurance, the family went bankrupted before she could afford to get treated. If there was a public option, she could have switch to that and get the treatment she would have otherwise could afford).
