From what i can see , Bakti Negara is a very combat yet defensive art and it is unique in comparison to general silat styles.

Modern Silat nowadays do not or rarely practice weapons with combatant techniques ,

it is good to see such that people are keeping their traditions and reality in check.

Look at the local Singapore scenes , most of the Silat rarely use weapons in trainings.

Perhaps we are too sheltered from the harsh realities of the world out there.

@MDIS I don't know about Singaporean, MDIS but what I know, there are lot of Indonesian silat schools practice weapons. Al-Azhar, Joko Tole, Perisai Diri, Golok Seliwa, Panglipur, and of course the one in the video.

I'm from Australia train in Bakti Negara Perguruan Silat and have trained in that very arena. Beautiful place and it's very impressive to watch the students there I was in awe really.
