I belive Bill hicks talked about lsd experience: today young man on acid realized that we are merly energy condensed, there is no death, life is only a dream....something like that. that would be a great experience to have, maybe some day I will try but I am scared of bad trips, have heard some nasty stories about people ending up in mental institutions and not sure if I want to risk that.

The teachings of Jesus are the equal of any religion we would agree and are still relevent. Reality is the nature of our existence now however. How we live in consideration of everything we know. Human beings make the simplest things complicated and complex things are over-simplified. We need to strive towards truthfulness and reality, try to honour that and be humble hopefully.

@rtrxggg You're correct, it wasn't an insult to christians in general, it was merely my view of the way in which some fundamentalist christians look at the world through a mythical lense that they mistake for reality. I think chistianity can have many positive benifits but mistaking every word the bible says for fact can also have some negatives. Like with drugs, nothing is all positive. Look at the Westboro baptist church for instance, you know the ones who picket army funerals... so not cool.

I'd agree though it seems in our Western world that Christianity comes in for more critisism than other supernatural explanations of reality - I think that's just a consequence of it being a very prominent religion in the western world, and of the western world being intellectually becoming intellectually equipped to challenge it.

Speaking as a fellow psychonaut I have regular experiences that would be recognisable to others as a kind of 'shared' god. However, I try hard to weed out unjustified assumptions about those experiences, which are mostly 1st person btw, and have found my experiences don't tell me much of anything. In fact, they highlight how little I really know or understand.

Egyptian writings suggest they had an acute understanding of the realms they would reach in death, even recording steps to better maintain ones-self within them, these correlate intricately to near death experiences and heightened states, and their use of entheogens to reach these places is proven I believe (someone could elaborate on that)

A difficulty with Carbon-Dating is its conflicting with other dating methods for material. That conflict is solved by having people with a predetermined story line decide to reinterpret the information in a way that creates the illusion of the lack of conflict inside of science. The dating methods do have plenty of built in assumptions that are not to be questioned otherwise the establishment will become angry. @thatonesub420 2 grams of any psilocybe mushrooms would be plenty for a first dose. You either got ripped off, which is common with mushrooms, or you got Amanita Muscaria, which is not psychedelic; its more of a deliriant, comparable to the effects of alcohol and requires ~8 grams.
I really related to a lot of what you were saying and describing about how i've felt in certain trips. One in particular I felt like I was God and all my friends around me were too and I could feel the potential in the room. Its like we all shared this kinetic energy and we hadn't seen that before we all had taken entheogens.

I haven't had much experience with entheogens, but over a decade ago, I tried a large dose of mushrooms..I remember looking at my boyfriend's pet gerbil and thinking "You're no better than I am! Now I know how it feels to be on your level and stripped down to basic instincts!" It was an experience of wrestling with my ego, because I was taught that people were 'special' to god, in that we have a soul, but at that moment I felt stripped away of that and just a part of nature without superiority.
Although I don't like it when Christians call me a satanist or drug addict for learning about Buddhism or Hinduism. And I don't understand why people hate the bible, its a very beautiful book. Although there is alot that I disagree with, like the mythical stories.
I remember once I tripped and the whole world was just a mind. We are all living in gods mind and are a part of it. After that the material world seemed like an illusion and I felt like inwas just living in a dream. The bible even says god made the world with his own mind. There was this christian, high school science teacher who tried to disprove evolution by saying carbon dating doesn't work... really funny for a science teacher not to know carbon dating isn't actually used on fossils. There are other forms of dating, but carbon dating isn't so useful with fossils dated back to prehistoric times.

Thank you Krystle for initiating this kind of discussion. It was not before I had these experiences myself that I could understand the concept of the god within. I remember similar states from early childhood, when they were natural and no tools for access were required. I believe many of us became disconnected as we grew up for whatever reasons. At least we have tools to get back there for short periods of time. But the question remains how to integrate these experiences into the default world.
Another way of explaining unity conciousness is that all matter in the universe was the size of a pea at the point of big bang. Separation is the illusion that we never started out from the same point in time.

@rtrxggg You're correct, it wasn't an insult to christians in general, it was merely my view of the way in which some fundamentalist christians look at the world through a mythical lense that they mistake for reality. I think chistianity can have many positive benifits but mistaking every word the bible says for fact can also have some negatives. Like with drugs, nothing is all positive. Look at the Westboro baptist church for instance, you know the ones who picket army funerals... so not cool.

If you say that the Garden of Eden creation myths are not literally true, then you're talking about all Abrahamic religions - not just Christianity.
I'd agree though it seems in our Western world that Christianity comes in for more critisism than other supernatural explanations of reality - I think that's just a consequence of it being a very prominent religion in the western world, and of the western world being intellectually becoming intellectually equipped to challenge it.

Speaking as a fellow psychonaut I have regular experiences that would be recognisable to others as a kind of 'shared' god. However, I try hard to weed out unjustified assumptions about those experiences, which are mostly 1st person btw, and have found my experiences don't tell me much of anything. In fact, they highlight how little I really know or understand.
I'm skeptical, basically. I think *all* the faces of god are most likely reflections of our biology at work. Not much else.

His mannerisms coincided perfectly with what I was seeing, it explains why they appear to see so many things which aren't there and shift their focus so erratically, turns out things are there, and I was always ignorant to them :D

Egyptian writings suggest they had an acute understanding of the realms they would reach in death, even recording steps to better maintain ones-self within them, these correlate intricately to near death experiences and heightened states, and their use of entheogens to reach these places is proven I believe (someone could elaborate on that)

A difficulty with Carbon-Dating is its conflicting with other dating methods for material. That conflict is solved by having people with a predetermined story line decide to reinterpret the information in a way that creates the illusion of the lack of conflict inside of science. The dating methods do have plenty of built in assumptions that are not to be questioned otherwise the establishment will become angry. Historical relics show alien life among us yet common information is edited.

@thatonesub420 2 grams of any psilocybe mushrooms would be plenty for a first dose. You either got ripped off, which is common with mushrooms, or you got Amanita Muscaria, which is not psychedelic; its more of a deliriant, comparable to the effects of alcohol and requires ~8 grams.

I really related to a lot of what you were saying and describing about how i've felt in certain trips. I haven't had much experience with entheogens, but over a decade ago, I tried a large dose of mushrooms..I remember looking at my boyfriend's pet gerbil and thinking "You're no better than I am! Now I know how it feels to be on your level and stripped down to basic instincts!" It was an experience of wrestling with my ego, because I was taught that people were 'special' to god, in that we have a soul, but at that moment I felt stripped away of that and just a part of nature without superiority.

...regarding disproving the bible, (of witch I agree in many ways) fossilized bones have no actual carbon left in them. I've had allot of Christians corner me on that. There was this christian, high school science teacher who tried to disprove evolution by saying carbon dating doesn't work... really funny for a science teacher not to know carbon dating isn't actually used on fossils. There are other forms of dating, but carbon dating isn't so useful with fossils dated back to prehistoric times.

I'm happy to see this posted. I'm a former psychonaut turned buddhist. Personally, I no longer take entheogyns because I strongly feel I have learned so very much from them. I was shaken firmly and now understand life at a much more human level than ever. I liked how you touched on God as a formless, shapeless being which surrounds us all. Thank you Krystle for initiating this kind of discussion. It was not before I had these experiences myself that I could understand the concept of the god within. I remember similar states from early childhood, when they were natural and no tools for access were required. I believe many of us became disconnected as we grew up for whatever reasons. At least we have tools to get back there for short periods of time. But the question remains how to integrate these experiences into the default world.
