@JupiterQuest That's seriously what I heard. I could only previously make it "son", "heaven" and a few other things like "God". But seriously, this song is HIGH. It sounds like something you'd find it a pseudo-rock Christian performance.. but good!
Holy shit, they're actually speaking words? In some sort of order? I mean I kinda suspected, but for the past five years all I thought of it was gibberish. My mind has just been blown
But, in all due respect, Dante is an awesome character in this game. But I honestly preffer the Kozunoha version. I had a fan-hack imported, and frankly, Kozunoha was just more generally bad-ass than Dante.
@granis1233 It's one character. That's like saying Soul Calibur 2's Gamecube version is a crossover between Zelda and Soul Calibur. Dante is the ONLY thing from Devil May Cry that's there. (I'm not sure if there are other things. I haven't played DMC, so I don't know.)
@granis1233 Still. Just because things that are basically needed for Dante. He was just a guest character. It's not like half the game was Devil May Cry. Hell, the original Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne didn't even have Dante and the other version (Not Maniax/Lucifer's Call) didn't have him either.
In my opinion, there's no greater feeling than fighting a tough boss, this song playing, and landing a barrage of critical hits, delaying his turn. Totally dominating a boss is always epic.
or more fitting with the game, y'know, they killed god's son, now he's torturing them and they're basically shouting I WILL NOT CRACK EVEN WHEN YOU TORTURE ME. much more nightmare fuel. and god ain't listening, lol.
Final fantasy ix ..And this..i have to say..IMO, are the most EPIC boss themes in any game. A game that can make me just sit there in battle time...and listen to the theme get's a . .
We sacrificed the Son of Man, man's greatest glimpse of fire red.
Oh, how they're lost in their prayers, all for our greatest God.
Let me sleep, please! I am a man, half-human.
I am tired, and this heart and person weaken.
On the name of God, I will not crack! Can you hear that, God!?
I will not crack! Can you hear that!?
Closest approximation of the lyrics, accounting for some odd pauses in the lyrics by other versions and making sense of what would otherwise seem to be Engrish.
@TestaXDizzy Demons asking God for mercy? That kinda makes sense...'cause it seems when the Conception rolls around, God pretty much tells the demons to go f**k themselves XP
@TestaXDizzy Hell, in the Divine Comedy, Satan is trapped in a pool of frozen tears. The tears? His own, over his betrayal. The reason they're frozen? He can't stop flapping his wings. The reason he can't stop flapping his wings? He wants nothing more than to reach Heaven again.
Actually to me it sounds like an exhausted call for God to leave him alone, while also declaring that he will not break under God's tyranny. Not only that it sounds like this might be sung from the Demi-Fiend himself (I am a man, half-human)
Makes sense considering the shit he has to go through just to survive during the conception.
you know, for those who've read GTO, this music fits amazingly well for the arc starting around chap 150. an amazing arc as it was, but this music completes it.
Sounds like some sort os Aztecian battle-field-entry yell.
Aztec general: SHAAWAASSDSYAASHAAWAAA SACRIFICE SON OF HEAVEN YEAAAHH!!

@omeganocturne That's because he's not nearly as recognizable as Dante from Devil May Cry.

What I'm hearing:
We've sacrificed the son of Him
Man's greatest glimpse of the fire read
Oh, how they're lost in their prayers of our greatest god
Let me sleep, please! I am a man, half human
(Unintelligable)
On the name of God! I will not crack! Can you hear me?
God! I will not crack! Can you hear me?

Born of fire, let us haunt at the rest of their wishes...
