Nice hunt guys u said this is in clarion county I live in zone 3d of pa but I always look for an area w state game land is there any game lands that's pretty good?
Your grammar is pathetic. Do you not know about spell check? The guy with the longbow made a good shot on a bedded deer. Your immense ignorance shows through your commentary. Using a longbow is not a choice made through 'hemanism', but rather the personal reflection of the archer's spirit, tradition, and heritage.
Wow what an incredible hunting area you have to hunt in. I love the different habitats. Hills ,fields ,thick bush ,I`m drooling all over heheheh. Thanks for all the hard work put into these videos.
man.. fat boy cant shoot..that one thing i cant stand some one that wants to be this badass hunter..oh i use a recurve cuz it challenges me..but cant even make at decent shoot at 10-15yds..hes def no fred bear matter of fact fred wouldnt let fat boy wipe his cold dead ass..bottomline you wanna be heman hunter badass o look at me with my caveman era recurve..atleast take sometime to hone your skills.pathetic
@doingittoya1 Wrong. No required orange for late season deer hunting. The guys wearing orange were small game hunters in which orange is required. We were not poaching... Do you know the game laws?
@kg51596 the deer sould have not been bedded closet thing ive shot to a bedded deer was a 8 point sneeking past my stand while crawing on all 4 legs while staring at me
@Outdoorskid82 There really isnt any tips other than practice shooting before you go out with a flintlock. You have to hold steady when that flash goes off or youll either miss or make a bad shot.
@Bushcraftpeople We spotted those deer aways off so we let the lead hunter go first to get the shot off. Normally we dont walk around in a big group like that but we were just tracking at the time and the snow wasnt as crunchy in some places.
great hunters, chasing the wounded animal through the forest, glad to see. especially respect to longbow hunter from me. by the way, how long did you chased the deer in first clip?
Nice. I sold my flintlock because it has become almost impossible to find priming powder for the flash pan. Any advice from anyone on where I could get it would be appreciated. I hunt with longbow and recurve now, but would love to get another flintlock and try it again.
this is my first year hunting with a flintlock 2010 and 2011 no deer yet but i will keep trying i have a deer stalker 50 caliber i shoot powerbelts they are the most acurate
@JRowe94 I just got back into flink lock after 20 years when I was a kid. Got my first one with my Thompson 50 on Dec. 31st. I love black powder, I wonder why I have not kept up with it. I think I just might get a smooth bore for small game next.
@Leatherwoodoutdoors You got a great shot man! I hit a doe yesterday with my rifle barrel slug gun,i hit the doe broad side but where its heart and lungs are at i couldnt shoot there she was behind a tree but i shot a little behind from where the lungs are at. i went where i shot at there was fur and blood on the ground. I followed the blood trail about 60yards it doe ran up the hill,i got on top of hill and there was a pool of blood.I think the doe was laying down then got up. the blood trail
awesome. i'm going to do the late season this year for the first time. good work. thanks for getting me fired up about traditional hunting. i hunt mercer co pa
mussle loaders have to low velocity and i know you can add more powder but its still unsafe if you do that, why not just use a 45 long colt if your going to be shooting a max of 100 yards?
@tonypoliZZi1 were did you come from a fucking 45long colt wont kill a deer un less it at the end of the barrel a muzzleloader with 150gr and a 200gr bullet will be going at 2300fps we kill deer at 200yds you site it in 0 at 50yds at 100 it be 1in low at 200 its be 6 in low you sure dont know nothing about muzzleloading rilfes
@1hunterdale lol ive killed many deer with them and they will get up and run alot ive had to chais em for a lil on allmost every one. why wouldent you rather use 30 odd 6?
@tonypoliZZi1 they dont run that far most thay die right their that load i use puts a hole tho them the size of a solfball here we cant use rilfes in west virgina i use my 270wby now that kills them way out their
@Leatherwoodoutdoors stoped and just found a few for specks of blood and lost the blood trail, having no snow didnt help. What you think could of happend? I cant believe i didnt get this deer with all that blood man, maybe a gut shot i dont know im baffeld.Im asking you because you know your shit. I appreciate it if you could reply back.Im taking my 50 caliber muzzleloader out next saturday.
@angelostallone I would say you shot in the dead zone, behind the lungs and high above the guts or before the guts. Thats why it stopped bleeding because the shot was probably high. Or you grazed the belly of the deer and all the blood you saw was flesh blood which would eventually clot up. You probably would never find that deer if that happened.
@Leatherwoodoutdoors Thanks for replying back to my post,i have to say you got a great shot,i saw your video when you were 12yrs old you hit 2 doe on the run from a really far distance thats great shit. Your a die hard outdoorsman,im the same way i live to hunt and fish, my cousin got some property out westmoreland county im going to start going out there, him and few guys got 6 bucks this year they do alot of pushing.Keep up the gd work, ill continue to watch you videos. I get pumped seeing em!
really sucks wounding a deer like that. makes ya feel like shit, but it happends to everyone...esp bow hunters. nice finishing shot tho...u guys seems like very ethical hunters.
Good videoing and great footage of deer but that last guy just needs to learn how to place the arrow in the first shot instead of shooting the DEER 3 TIMES. Good Lord go home and practice.
Very enjoyable. I have so limited time anymore to do anything due to work commitment. However the boy & I made it out for an afternoon & tried out our new blind. Just a little before last light packed it in & just after I said so I looked & an Alberta Monster stepped out heard our voices & goodby. I really enjoyed the quality of your movie!
Looks like you would rather video than hunt- I'm goin that way also- I'm a NY'er who also hunts PA trying to bring video to everyone. It's hard by yourself, but loving it anyway, love your work
@MrJSJr Yeah, and its kinda scary. I would rather video than hunt. I cant hunt anymore unless I have the camera with me. Its very hard to hunt and video but its much more rewarding when it all comes together.
@F1000snopro well It was the second to last day of the season and I had not filled any of my tags. What would you do? Plus I though it was a bigger when I shot. I wasnt happy shooting a small deer trust me.
Good to see people hunting the traditional way. I hunt with caplocks and flinters and when you get a deer with one of those it's more fulfilling than any other method. I hate to see all these hippies posting comments acting as if they have a clue about hunting.
OMG!!! You rednecks are ridiculous! It's bad enough slaughtering deffensless animals, but you have to celebrate with shitty videos on youtube. Nice had Buffalo Bill!
@MEATisMURDER1000 I felt sorry for the dying doe too. But nature is savage. Even eating plants is a form of killing. I value plants on the same par as animals. All living things need to kill to live.

It's video like this that gives bow hunting a bad name! How many times are you going to shoot that poor animal! You really need to rethink what you put on youtube. It makes things bad for our sport. A little practice probobly wouldn't hurt.
Nothing like a hunter HUNTING on a full stomach (BANG! hmm yeah here's where she fell, well lets get something to eat, then comeback and pickup our kill.) Pathetic. Find the Deer and slit its throat, and keep it from suffering any longer!
Also massive group hunting? Wow you guys are "skilled"...
I agree, How many times do they need to shoot that poor animal. Video like this gives bow hunting a bad name. Be more carefull what you show the world will ya!
Wow. The anti hunter rhetoric that you use in your comments could be painful for the sport of hunting. I wasnt even sure you were a hunter at first. I will not please animal rights activists by agree with you. The video is about hunting, in all forms of the word. This is not TV. It is real thing. This is tradtional hunting. Of coarse it had to be shot more than once or we would have never got that deer. Wait we should have left it to die a slow death, would that make you happy?
hey i live in PA too, washington county to be exact, and i might get into flintlock this year, i see you arent wearing orange, do you have to for flintlock?
i use a 50 cal CVA deer hunter. I bought it because it was cheap and the first year i hunted with it i killed a 7 point and a doe both in the late season. Doesnt really matter what kind you buy. Tradtitions makes a good flintlock also. You just need to practice alot do get good with them.
Good job man it's nice to see a video where nobody is laughing at the deer dying or playing some dumb music in the background.. It's seems to me you guy are ethical hunters and you have respect for your game... That's badass country your hunting and cool that your using a long bow and Flintlock rifles
Great video, good editing. You are correct, a little more work on pan control and the video will be better.Looks like beautiful area there. I used to hunt Monroe/Carbon and occasionally Potter back in th day. What part of PA was this film taken?
Clarion County. I do have a video with some deer hunting back in 1990 by George B Stevenson Dam, and rattlesnake hunting in Cameron county. Close to Potter county
Awsome! I've taken many with my flintlock in pa. I could not even imangine the skill it would take to video my hunts as well as shoot. This is awsome. Great job. I hunt manly in York, Cumberland and Adams counties.
Thanks! Its very very hard. I video taped myself everday of the season from Archery to Muzzleloader. Its hard to get that "kodak" moment when your filming your own hunts.
I really like this video. Nice story telling, and love the winter hunt. Wish I had gotten a deer in this years Christmas blizzard (as it was, I shot two in December 16 - right before the snow arrived)
Thanks! Sorry if the video quality was poor. Its still in the processing stage. Quality should get better soon. Footage will be hard to come by in the next few months. Hope to get some good coyote, fox and crow hunting footage soon.
What caliber? Were you using patched ball? How many grains of blackpowder?

hey i live in PA too, washington county to be exact, and i might get into flintlock this year, i see you arent wearing orange, do you have to for flintlock?
clarkboy411 2 years ago
No orange required for late season deer hunting.
Leatherwoodoutdoors 2 years ago
really?! sweeet is that for flintlock or late season anything?
clarkboy411 2 years ago
Only For late season deer hunting. Small Game you must wear orange. The hunters in the video that were wearing orange were grouse hunters.

ok sweet, btw what kind of flintlock do you suggest for a beginner?
clarkboy411 2 years ago
i use a 50 cal CVA deer hunter.
