I have seen QR codes in Canada but the problem is that they are in advertising that says scan the qr code on the ad for more advertising. Absolutely stupid and who would want to do that.
I have an HTC Desire as well. While I can easily get to YouTube Videos by scanning the code, I am having difficulty with a QR code that plays a video from my website. From my computer, no problem. I even set up the web page to auto play the video, but I cannot seem to get the video to play from my phone. No error messages, just a blank screen after I click on "go to browser". Again, from my computer, everything flows perfectly. Any thoughts?
I know this is not a QR trouble shootiong forum, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced problems with their youtube videos playing back on smartphones. We did a QR campaign before the summer, now after the latest youtube update (dont know if its related) the link still works but none of the videos play on older smartphones (last seasons) but will play on fully up-to-date devices. That sounds like its just fine, but see it from the clients point of view. Anybody else had this problem?
A new addressing technology called the Keyword Identifier(developed by Oyokey Inc.) performs better than any 2D code. It gives customers, users a better experience and retains, enhances a company brand without introducing any other brand and the same Keyword Identifier can work via typing, scanning or speaking. The Keyword Identifier has all the important features of these 2D codes and much much more. Check out Keyword Identifier at Blogspot.
Yes, they do work on videos. Guess it depends on your QR reader or scanner. But using the iphone with "i-nigma" it works every time from my experience, and proof via scanning your QR code as I just watched the "secret" video.
I use these for my business and for marketing local business. It has pros & cons though.
Works on my HTC Desire and the video played just fine on the phone too. QR codes will work from a T.V. screen if the contrast is good. Doing the rounds at an Expo last week, I picked up four new clients pushing QR codes as the ice breaker! They couldn't believe that their details were stored in the code! :o) Gotta love QR codes!
My HTC incredible read the code fine. But the video had an error while playing. Are there dimensions you recommend for the code when adding it to the video?
This is a very informative video. Mobile marketing is truly coming of age. As smartphones and apps become better, the possibilities are endless. I currently us Apple devices and am anticipating the Android adddtion of Honeycomb. Who knows wher this will take us.
The QR code worked with the barcode scanner on my HTC Desire HD but when I clicked to open the youtube link in the official youtube app i received the message "There was a problem while playing"
@Ltgig That's interesting. I would think that the Android platform would handle this with ease. I don't have an Android phone myself, but I will have to test it out with a friend to see what the problem is. I know it is working for others since the video the QR code links to have about 100+ views and the only way to get to it is through the QR code.
@ChampionMobile I thought it would be cool to use QR codes to drive people to specialized video messages, so I'm glad you do too. As for your question, I used a QR code generator to make the QR code (YouTube won't allow URLs in the comments, but if you Google "QR Code Generator" I used the first one that appears). From there I added the QR code graphic to my video in my video editing program (I used Sony Vegas for this particular video but most editing programs will allow you to add pictures.)
I don't know what QR is, i'm illiterate there and too lazy right now to goog it. but the video was fun and made me smile. thanks.

Why wouldn't they work???
And if you used just a little more soft focus, your face would become a contourless blob...

How to Create a QR Code for any website or Youtube video:
1 Go to goo . gl
2 Paste your URL of a website or Youtube link
3 Get the Shorten result URL as goo . gl / something
4 Add to the end: .qr as goo . gl / something.qr
5 You will get a QR code as .png picture
6 Save the .png picture on your local disk and use it as a QR code instantly.
Basically all it does is that the QR code creates shortcut to ur URL.
Hope this was helpful

@amotcenter PS: remove spaces from the goo . gl and other spaces I explained in the URLs - u know Youtube security no links are allowed lol
