i can quickscope/snipe normal with both attachements, but, and this is a fact, that 90% of the people dont know, is with an acog attachement on the m40a3, every shot is a kill -> it doesn't matter, if you hit the legs or arms, with the normal scope, the shot is just deadly, if you hit the body and head :) so that's why i use acog :)
I'd have to say that quickscoping is a tool a good sniper can use. If you want to hang back and pick people off, by all means go ahead... but at least have the ability to handle yourself when situations get closer and closer. On another note, that acog scope for the m40 in cod4 pissed me off. It already had a faster aim down the sight, why would they make it a 100% osk to all non-jugg users too?

Well if you're asking what a good sniper is in COD terms then yes it is the guy who can quickscope really well and go close range. If you're talking gaming in general, then a good sniper is someone who covers his team, spots enemies, and helps with the objective. I love you Battlefield.

They just need to bring it back to MW1 its not too bad on that game.. But, the game itself was much better over all, no one quick scoped up until basically MW2 came out, I never saw it on MW1 or WAW

Games that allow you to use a sniper rifle and be dominant with it at close range are broken. Sniper rifles should only be useful at medium - long range.

Sniping takes patience but also you have to have a good quickscope shot just in case of a close-quarters shot. quickscoping takes practice...you have to be able to hardscope, quickscope and be ready to switch to your secondary to be a good balanced sniper.

A good sniper For mw2 is someone who plays with marathon danger close no attachment and sitrep or baisicly a sniper that dosnt use sleight of hand stopping power steady aim or ninja
People complain about campers all day. But, when people flood into one area, and you find a spot that has nice cover, and you can survive wave after wave of people rushing into the same spot to kill you why not stay and teach them a lesson? The main way to take out a camper is to go AROUND them, not flood into the same spot. For snipers, that's different. Take a few shots, then move. Mobile camp. take out two or three unless the flood in, then switch. Find a spot nearby, take them out again.

a good sniper knows when to quickscope and when to hardscope. if you have the time to hardscope and get a kill, theres no reason to try and quickscope. but likewise, if a guy rushes you and you have no time to hardscope, pull out a nice quickscope..its all about control

i think sometimes is good like go in the action and quick sniping and stuff. but sometimes (many times in BCBF 2) camping becouse its realistic. go in real life and try up 360 no scope!
The sniper is, a majority of the time, a one shot kill so i believe the sniper should be racking up kills and taking out the enemy. A good sniper plays the role of a slayer, one who can take out the enemies and cut them off from the objective. Wether if it is from afar hard scoping or close up quick scoping, as long as they take out the enemy they are doing their job as a good sniper
in respect of the gun i think call of duty developers should consider having at least one bolt action sniper that will always i repeat ALWAYS yield one shot kills unless shooting through a wall or something, because it is soooooo unrealistic to shoot somebody center mass with a fifty cal and see a red x on your screen. i mean i dont think if somebody got shot with a fifty call there only reaction would be to flinch and the run away SO UNREALISTIC.
@TreyDeVincentis and the spas 12 has a kill range of 100 yards if they made tht realistic the game would be terrible. if it was a one shot kill i have a feeling it would be extremely overpowered
I think a good sniper is just someone who is comfortable with their sniping style. I suck at quickscoping/noscoping (well, in Call of Duty at least) but I know I'm good at "hardscoping" and swapping to my secondary if need be. If someone is good at quick scoping, more power to them. Just don't run around quickscoping with dual magnums in hardcore Search. That really pisses me off.
I think what makes a good sniper is being able to hold down a position. If you can cover your teams flank or hold down a flag by lying prone and taking them out as they come, your set. And now i must go play COD 4
In my opinion, a good sniper would be like hutch. He plays the objectice, hardscopes when needed, uses secondarys. And can play aggressive and passive.

How come in CoD 4 no complained about Jugger but everyone trolled about painkiller in MW2. Also why complain about Ghost in BO and not in MW2 Cold Blood. Even though BO was not that good ( at all multiplayer wise ) people complain over the dumbest things.
@kruleb Alot of people complained about juggernaut from CoD4. Why do you think it was taken out of MW2? The reason Cold Blooded wasnt bitched about because it wasnt over used. The vast majority of people used Stopping Power. Without stopping power to balance out Ghost everybody uses it in BO.
Flak Jacket is the Stopping Power of BO. If you don't use Flak Jacket, you're fucked, because a 'nade is always rolling your way in this game. Some people ignore it, use ghost, and end up negative every single game because they haven't got that power perk equipped.

Well, for me, as long as you cover the objective or help your team rack up some kills; then efficient sniping is sniping that's achieving a primary goal. You might be running 30-5 or 5-15 but as long as you cover objectives and not feed as some do, then you're a good sniper. Everyone has their preferences, styles and whatnot. Whatever makes you perform better in a game, go for it. ^_^ That's all

For me a good sniper is someone who camps and tries to stay stealth. Thats why sniping in the cod series is bullshit imo. Thats why I play Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Its an awesome game wich involves REAL sniping. You have to adjust your aim to wind speed and your heart beat. For everyone who loves REAL sniping, thats deffinatly your game.

i liked black ops sniping cause i really like how they make people stay back and take out people from afar and have ghost without worrying about using stopping power and being seen on the radar. but you can still quickscope but it takes a lot of practice.
Good sniper should be some one who watches over objectives helps out the team but just doesnt sit back the whole game in one spot takein pot shots at people. They need to mve around move up with the rest. But thats just my opinion.
a REAL sniper is a different from a GAME sniper HAHA I like people to pick up a sniper jump into a war and see how it goes :) But again it's a game and if you want to play like a realistic sniper then choose a different game.
not bashing cod here but i think that the sniping in battlefield is very balenced.. it is a one shot kill to a certain distance and medium to long range it is a two shot to the body and a one shot to the head
Me, if I snipe, I tend to rock the L96A1 w/ Acog or Infared Sight and Dual Pythons as my secondary. My perks vary up depending on the map I am playing on. I think everyone has their own classy set up, but at the end of the day, what matters is helping out your team. Trick shots look cool, but if you aren't being an asset to your team they mean absolutely nothing.
PS- In real-life if my .50 cal long rifle molly coated round strikes center mass, you wont be looking at me like im retarded, while rushing towards me with a stupid lil smg. Youll be taking a gasp of air and collapsing.. You want realistic right? You also wont be able to hide behind thin wood like you can in black ops.. ONE SHOT, ONE KILL, and in some cases ONE SHOT, TWO KILLS.

You wanna talk about quick scoping not being realistic? At that distance we shouldnt need to scope at all to hit you. Sniper rifles are finely made and tuned to be precise. In call of duty the developers had to make sniper rifles fire from the hip inaccurately.. IN REAL LIFE.. i could hip fire a cheytac .408 intervention up to 100 meters off. Not our fault develoopers wanted non-snipers to have a chance. 1 shot kill + easy to hip fire.. youd be in trouble if this game were realistic.

@weeman100xx if we want to talk realism and real life, a sniper would be required to not only stay in one position but also wait for their target taking into account wind and distance, there is no way you could even move with a sniper in the ready to fire position and if you were to shoot it then there is no way you could hold onto it
@abarreloflols misinformation. Any firearm carried by military personnel is carried ready to fire with minimal adjustment. Snipers are not required to stay in one position, they find a vantage point to line up there shot, take it and then move. Recoil on some sniper rifles is less than on some assault rifles. There is no law/rule/regulation against aggressive sniping in real life, its just not done because the training of snipers makes them more valuable than infantry.

1.) Good sniper uses good map and team awareness and utilises the quickscope and/or hardscope in the most useful situation (plus secondary)
2.) Fun sniper trickshots, no scopes ladder shots etc.. with map awareness but only for the enemies... this is what i usually encounter anyways..
I prefer to play as the first sniper, whereas others such as my lil 12 year old bro prefers to play as the second sniper.... all preferance imo.

i think sometimes is good like go in the action and quick sniping and stuff. but sometimes (many times in BCBF 2) camping becouse its realistic. go in real life and try up 360 no scope!

The sniper is, a majority of the time, a one shot kill so i believe the sniper should be racking up kills and taking out the enemy. A good sniper plays the role of a slayer, one who can take out the enemies and cut them off from the objective. Wether if it is from afar hard scoping or close up quick scoping, as long as they take out the enemy they are doing their job as a good sniper

in respect of the gun i think call of duty developers should consider having at least one bolt action sniper that will always i repeat ALWAYS yield one shot kills unless shooting through a wall or something, because it is soooooo unrealistic to shoot somebody center mass with a fifty cal and see a red x on your screen. i mean i dont think if somebody got shot with a fifty call there only reaction would be to flinch and the run away SO UNREALISTIC.

I think a good sniper is just someone who is comfortable with their sniping style. I suck at quickscoping/noscoping (well, in Call of Duty at least) but I know I'm good at "hardscoping" and swapping to my secondary if need be. If someone is good at quick scoping, more power to them. Just don't run around quickscoping with dual magnums in hardcore Search. That really pisses me off.

I think what makes a good sniper is being able to hold down a position. If you can cover your teams flank or hold down a flag by lying prone and taking them out as they come, your set. And now i must go play COD 4

In my opinion, a good sniper would be like hutch. He plays the objectice, hardscopes when needed, uses secondarys. And can play aggressive and passive.

How come in CoD 4 no complained about Jugger but everyone trolled about painkiller in MW2. Also why complain about Ghost in BO and not in MW2 Cold Blood. Even though BO was not that good ( at all multiplayer wise ) people complain over the dumbest things.

@kruleb Alot of people complained about juggernaut from CoD4. Why do you think it was taken out of MW2? The reason Cold Blooded wasnt bitched about because it wasnt over used. The vast majority of people used Stopping Power. Without stopping power to balance out Ghost everybody uses it in BO.

Flak Jacket is the Stopping Power of BO. If you don't use Flak Jacket, you're fucked, because a 'nade is always rolling your way in this game. Some people ignore it, use ghost, and end up negative every single game because they haven't got that power perk equipped.

Well, for me, as long as you cover the objective or help your team rack up some kills; then efficient sniping is sniping that's achieving a primary goal. You might be running 30-5 or 5-15 but as long as you cover objectives and not feed as some do, then you're a good sniper. Everyone has their preferences, styles and whatnot. Whatever makes you perform better in a game, go for it. ^_^ That's all

For me a good sniper is someone who camps and tries to stay stealth. Thats why sniping in the cod series is bullshit imo. Thats why I play Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Its an awesome game wich involves REAL sniping. You have to adjust your aim to wind speed and your heart beat. For everyone who loves REAL sniping, thats deffinatly your game.

i liked black ops sniping cause i really like how they make people stay back and take out people from afar and have ghost without worrying about using stopping power and being seen on the radar. but you can still quickscope but it takes a lot of practice.

Good sniper should be some one who watches over objectives helps out the team but just doesnt sit back the whole game in one spot takein pot shots at people. They need to mve around move up with the rest. But thats just my opinion.

not bashing cod here but i think that the sniping in battlefield is very balenced.. it is a one shot kill to a certain distance and medium to long range it is a two shot to the body and a one shot to the head

Me, if I snipe, I tend to rock the L96A1 w/ Acog or Infared Sight and Dual Pythons as my secondary. My perks vary up depending on the map I am playing on. I think everyone has their own classy set up, but at the end of the day, what matters is helping out your team. Trick shots look cool, but if you aren't being an asset to your team they mean absolutely nothing.

You wanna talk about quick scoping not being realistic? At that distance we shouldnt need to scope at all to hit you. Sniper rifles are finely made and tuned to be precise. In call of duty the developers had to make sniper rifles fire from the hip inaccurately.. IN REAL LIFE.. i could hip fire a cheytac .408 intervention up to 100 meters off. Not our fault develoopers wanted non-snipers to have a chance. 1 shot kill + easy to hip fire.. youd be in trouble if this game were realistic.

it is a hard question, I hate quickscopers because it proves snipers are overpowered, I mean a 1 shot kill at any range? but in saying that if you nerf it and limit it to long range you are going to get people camping so the only solution is to remove snipers? @abarreloflols in real life a sniper would tear u to pieces at any distance but its more for long range. there are snipers that can be used for long and short range. and some just switch barrels so yeah snipers aren't over powered it the way the scope comes up and i think black ops got it right. u dont pull up ur scope in 1 1/2 sec and kill some one it takes time to aim.

@weeman100xx if we want to talk realism and real life, a sniper would be required to not only stay in one position but also wait for their target taking into account wind and distance, there is no way you could even move with a sniper in the ready to fire position and if you were to shoot it then there is no way you could hold onto it

@abarreloflols misinformation. Any firearm carried by military personnel is carried ready to fire with minimal adjustment. Snipers are not required to stay in one position, they find a vantage point to line up there shot, take it and then move. Recoil on some sniper rifles is less than on some assault rifles. There is no law/rule/regulation against aggressive sniping in real life, its just not done because the training of snipers makes them more valuable than infantry.
