every one who is having a go and braging about how good u r put up your vids and let us all see. respect to the guys for going for it. yer they made mistakes but who doesnt i've bin paddling nearly 20 yrs and some times make mistakes and any one sayes they dont are either liers or dont paddle. as for the decks imploding i recomend the thruster happy seat combo. and no i do not paddle a jackson kayak.
Why is everyone having a go at these guys? They've got balls to go and do it and had fun. The only way you learn is from experiences and EVERY single paddler has took a swim before from a bad line so lay off them and remember what it use to be like when we were all learning. At the end of the day no one got hurt so who cares?
A lot of buddies use those inpolsion devices, you can make em for a few bucks. I used to walk this drop at this level it looked a bit pushy to nail the line, plus the vegetation ds make for good strainers.
Having safety on RR could have helped you out esp when going for the right boof.

Oh and why use a throw line there when there was a nice feet up swim and a fuck off eddy just down stream. Level 3 coach stick ya hands down ya trousers and find ya bollox!
Well done lads ya only learn by nailing this shit and gettin wurked, I find that the ones that critise just do it to knock ya confidence and big themselves up after all they always say if ya cant do it...teach, you done fine and the experience you got from it will do ya good. More you do it the longer you can hold on for the ride!
In all fairness, YES THEY WERE CRAP!!! BUT, its up to them what they run. And why not take the center line? It gives a weird melt down experience!! If your a coach no one cares........THOSE WHO CANT.....COACH!!!
-_- i am a level 3 coach been paddling 4 years and now teach kayaking and canoeing when i can, yeah they do have throw lines but i didnt see anyone use one
if you cant run stuff that big with out you both swimming then dont do it are you silly ? river left boof i could have made that and im 16 lvl 3 coach and 4star paddler so i mean guy work you way up dont fuck about like this.
andycallow. lvl 3 in what? And 4* in what? And at the age of only 16?! you must be the only one in the world... what with one of the pre-req's being a lvl2, and that you have to be 18 before you can do your lvl2 assesment!!!
So thats not extreme paddling, that was shit. All you did was point and go down a big waterfall. Both of you got spanked hard. I could of done that and i can't paddle for shit. Extreme paddling would of been actually able to do it and not have to swim......... Puffter aye
Hey, right i agree with styleycarr its pretty fucking retarded paddling a central line in this kinda level river left boof is def gonna be the best line. Also if your deck "popped" on the way down, why try and roll? and also 1 grade IV drop is not "Extreme Paddling", iv got a plan guys.... either stick to the lakes or man the fuck up and try Colwith Force, id like to watch a swimmer on that.
Grow up?!?!? We took a controled risk if it was really life threatening we would not have done it. No-one "Had to pull us out" We knew what we were doing and knew how to take a hard swim (if we had to). We spent plenty of time assesing the risks and deciding what to do. You would not have been saying this had it all gone fine. We will happily do it again at this level; and again will have safety measures in place with people who are happy to do what needs to be done should they have to!
yes mate definately extreme paddling. you clearly are a master of wizardry in that field hence the excellent line you took straight down the fucking middle and not river right or left as are the decent lines, but then i guess you guys are hardcore hence no need for that.
i mean i can see all your skills and abilities in those amazing boofs that seem to be lacking from your technique.
and lay off arsenalsangel. she has a point, you clearly weren't amazing at the rescues either, good job its just the brathay below and not some big river in the alps as only one or two people got lines in decent time not like the others who i imagined you nearly had to fish out of windermere by the time you'd 'rescued' them.
oh and as for decks being popped by water volume, if you're so extreme strap your deck down if you have that much faith in your roll. clearly whoevers in the green boat doesnt as after a couple of attempts in time to pop deck and swim.
its fine trying something, but dont be such dicks about it trying to big yourself up to more than you are
we attempted going for river right. The force of the water pushed us straight into the middle! I think we would have been fine had the decks not popped midway down!! We will get it right next time!!

we had people happy to rescue us. you obviously know nothing about extreme paddling!!
bazzajamie 4 years ago
"happy to rescue us" - so your happy to let friends risk there lives pulling you out there then.
I know a lot about safety and paddling after 10 yrs as a scout leader and living in Ambleside with outdoor studies student for 4 years.
