  • I meant Woody. Pete gave us a hammer

  • A good communist song thanks Pete.

  • I remember this concert/ At one point, so many individuals iin the audience were crying.

  • Shes old as fuck who cares about her weight

  • Most EXCELLENT!!!!!!

  • Mary has always been beautyful and looks great as she is. It is her work and performance, and to be specific her charm that go on and on in our memory. The change in human figure is just phenomenal.

She deserve to be my all times great folk singer

  • Mary is dead???....wow, where have I been???

  • almost cried watching this...

  • Rest In Peace Mary

    November 9, 1936 – September 16, 2009

  • her physical beauty is great , her inner beauty is phenomenal ,whoever slags her off for being curvacious is obviously a small minded NEVER BEEN WANNABEE thats angry at the mess theyre in ,and upset at being a failure ,,,,get a grip you sad git ,,,AMEN RANT OVER

  • What i liked about it was it simplicity. No fancy stage theatrics just three people singing. They were a great act. Mary sure had some volume and a very clear voice. what is most amazing is that they never changed their style. they stayed with what they did best. Won't be anything like them for a long time. This land is your land is a song that makes you just want to clap. It made you feel good about things, even if for just a short while. They were a class act.

  • You go Mary! Your spirit and the impact you had on the world will live forever!

  • oh the japanese have no soul. no offense but the crowd looks too conservative for this song. I mean even Republicans would be jumping up from their seats.

  • @mrtyles well toward the end, they were getting more enthusiastic.

  • LOL! The Japanese seem very enthusiastic about an American song! Are they actually singing, too? And all the clapping,a very good audience!

  • Two of Woodie Guthrie's original verses for this song were suppressed. One of them goes:

Was a big high wall there that tried to stop me.

A sign was painted, said Private property.

But on the other side it didnt say nothing.

That side was made for you and me.

It may be "our land" in some sense, but most of it is owned by a tiny minority. This land is their land.

  • The other verse is:

"Nobody living, will ever stop me,"

"As I go walking, that freedom highway,"

"No body living, can make me turn back,"

"This land is made for you and me."

I used to always sing that verse as the last verse to the song.

  • I just love how Mary takes the Lead on this song!!! She was and is, a great singer!! God Bless Mary!!!

  • I fill sorry for Peter&Paul they lost a the sister. They will have empty hole in there life now.We all loved her and we will miss Mary forever .The kids of today will only have the music ,they wont know a group like this and its a shame.Have a good life on the other side Mary

  • Rest in Peace, Mary.

  • RIP Mary, this is so sad. I was raised listening to your music.

We sang this song in elementary school

  • Saw you in concert one year ago, Mary. Unbelievable that we will not hear you again. Thank you for the music.

  • RIP MAry. you are a legend we all miss you

  • Yes, goodbye dear, Mary. Thanks for your courage and soul-power.

    JOY

  • Good bye dear friend...thanks for the memories !!

  • God Bless You Mary. Amy

  • ;_;

  • bless you Mary Travers

  • I used to sing this with my Laotian exchange student brother playing harmonica in the mid sixties. To this day it is such a wonderful memory. He is now a U.S. citizen. God bless you, Mary, and thank you so much for what you gave all of us. May the angels hear your voice in heaven.

  • Great video and an example of reconciliation between nations. Rest in Peace Mary, and God Bless America - from the UK.

  • Heaven sure added an astonishing voice to its chorus tonight.

  • God Bless America and God Bless Mary. Her like will never be heard again.

  • RIP Mary...

  • I love how they adapted the song for Japan.

With such history of animosity between our countries, it's wonderful to see this. PP&M were made for spreading peace.

  • I had the priveledge of seeing Peter Paul and Mary in 1988. Great show.

  • wow this performance is gr8 without the studio cd thingy work idk

  • I LUV IT!

  • please don't forget that this concert was in Japan

  • I like this song I can play it loud so everyone knows its my land.

  • I think it's kind of funny that they're playing this song for an asian country.

  • These wonderful people never lost their magic even with age, Mary was a beautiful lady and her health problems (leukaemia) never changed her heart and soul when it comes to singing. I am so grateful they were a part of my youth and I will admire them into old age -mine and theirs! Thank you for sharing this.

  • Although they've change outwardly they still have what they always had - great voices and playing

  • Some people don't have the ability to see what real beauty is, and instead- place conditional factors on beauty, including weight. This person clearly does not have a big enough mind to grasp the concept of real beauty.

The fact of the matter is, Mary looks absolutely as beautiful as she did when the world was first introduced to Peter, Paul & Mary; and it doesn't matter how much she weighs.

  • @psychedelicinvasion I agree completely!!!!!

  • @Shorty5959 Glad to see there is someone who thinks alike! Good to know there's still some people in this world who have good hearts and intelligent minds!

  • @psychedelicinvasion i like big women and so do many men. Many people are just too scared to admit it.

  • @a1rh3add : Thanks for the positive response. :)

  • Well, as cancer ravaged her body, she did become thinner ...

But not that any of that matters now since she passed away September 16. Mary is free now from "that body" and is now Resting in Peace in Heaven.

  • They've still got it!

  • great performance of a great, great song

  • I agree completely.
