  • And now that you've shit your pants, MUPPETS!

  • The atomic triple helix of doom!

  • This one is up there with the CBS revolving rainbow special and filmation at the start of Fat albert. All three tell you usually something good is coming on (Except later on when it was a repeat of a hallmark movie regarded as a "special" because it's not on sunday but some other night of the week a movie did not air on CBS or in place of sports.

  • The music cue freaking rocks.

  • Now whats this? The Merry-go-round of doom?

  • ITC entertainment ALSO done both 1979's "The Muppet Movie" and 1981's "The Great Muppet Caper".

  • I don't see anything scary about this logo. As a kid, this intro used to get me fired up about watching the muppet show! Now, the Screen Gems logo from the early 70's used to seriously creep me out. And, the sinister music that came with it did not help.

  • Here I am writing this spooky movie and my thoughts just wandered to "what was the production co. that had that ominous logo at the end of the Muppet Show...?" BOOM, there it is. Wow. ITC. A logo that has burned itself into my consciousness for YEARS.. the spinning... I forgot about the spinning...! ! !

  • One day, we'll get this on a DVD of "The Muppet Movie" after the AFD logo? Or do you wanna have the ITC Flowers logo instead? What do YOU think, guys? Answer my question, and then I'll get the Jim Henson Company and write to them about it, and see if they like it? YOU, DogPatch1149, what do you think? Spinning diamonds of doom or Flowers?

  • I fail to see how this one is scary. I hate almost every logo but this one is cool.

  • I wish they'd not plaster this on the Muppet Show DVD's.

  • This preceded UFO and Space:1999. Something always spooked me about this spinning geometric thingy. The music was a short jab kinda prelude. I appreciate it more now than then...

  • @aramanth Actually, I remember it from Thunderbirds.

UFO and Space: 1999 had the Century 21 logo.

  • @cl johnston 108 ...Strange that I have that memory I know I have seen this somewhere connected with a sci-fi show! I know Space:1999 was distributed from ITC....maybe that's where I am getting this!

  • I dig this music and logo. It preseded Space 1999.

  • Did Barry Gray compose this?

  • I first saw this when it always preceded "Space 1999" before the "The Muppets" came out.

  • This also used to preceed the 60's show "The Thunderbirds" and "Space 1999":)

  • "It's time to meet the Muppets.....on THE MUPPET SHOW tonight!"

    Thank you for posting! ;)

  • sweet!! brings back memories!

  • It's time to put on makeup, it's time to dress up right...

  • Damn! A weird top and scary music!

  • Ahhh, hearing this takes me back to bout 74, when I was nine. I knew right after the fanfare that Space 1999 was coming on! Miss those days.

  • Yes "Space 1999" I later saw it at the end of "The Saint".

  • *chuckle* Rapper Big Daddy Kane used this sample for his second album "It's a Big Daddy Thing"

  • For me, that meant "The Muppet Show" was coming on (they had the ITC bumpers intact when the show aired on YTV in the station's early years)

  • I feel almost ashamed to say this...that hardly even startles me. Granted, I never saw this as a child (too young), but it's mostly just weird to me.

  • Oh no! It's the ITC Logo from Hell!

  • @mobilene HA! That don't scare me!

  • This scared me, too, as a little girl.

  • That scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. It's still pretty freaky. I caught this unexpectedly at the end of the movie "Can't Stop the Music" and I nearly had an accident.

  • This also appeared at the beginning of the movie "Raise the Titanic."

  • ha! i remember that.

  • Always got excited when I saw this as a kid, 'cause I knew either "Space:1999" or "The Muppet Show" were coming on.

  • I wish someone had that video with that byline. "An ATV Company"

  • Didn't they also use the byline "An ACC Company"?

  • It was also owned by ACC but I haven't seen it.

  • SSlaxx, they did use the line "An ATV Company" (with the ATV logo) - that much I do remember. Post-ATV, I'm not too sure.

  • I miss Jim Henson...and I really miss the ITC logo at the opening and closing of the Muppet movies and the Muppet Show...unfortunately the DVDs are without it...such a short thing but it truly added to the atmosphere. Long live the Electric Mayhem!

  • This was also on The Muppet Movie.

  • Are you sure? The 1980 VHS version of the Muppet Movie does NOT have the ITC logo, but rather the AFD logo that was a division of ITC Films.

  • I saw it on A latter copy,I have A copy from 86 that has it,maybe they added it later.

  • He's right. According to IMDB, ITC did co-produce that movie.

  • They did,but the logo must only be visible on certain copys.I bought mine from A video store, previously viewed.Maybe because it was A rental copy.

  • Ohh boy! You don't have it anymore, do you?

  • I'm not sure,I'll have to check.I recently sold A bunch of videos/Dvds,that might have been one of them.

  • I remember seeing this logo as a kid and thinking, "The Muppet Show's about to come on!!!"

  • Space 1999 must be on. Does anyone have the gold itc ident with the normal music rather then the one with group w?

  • Also, peace & safety to you & yours!

  • As a child, I was always very intrigued by production company idents and this one from ITC Entertainment is one in particular that sticks out in my mind. I really like the classic graphics here a lot and the bombastic fanfare music is equally great. Many thanks for sharing.

  • I remember shows like Space:1999 and The Muppet Show opening with that logo back in the 70's.

  • over here in the UK, ITC were known as ATV, it had the ATV Zoom 2 animation in front of it, not the ITC ident.

  • ATV sucks.

  • why does ATV suck?

  • Because of your comment posted 6 days ago.

  • they suck because they just had a different name over here? So it obviously doesn't matter to you that they showed the same programming, it's just that they had different names and logos at the start and end of those programmes!

  • No they weren't. ITC Entertainment were always a separate company, either as a division of ATV itself, or later on as a division of ACC.

  • Probably in 1956. The "Scanimated Diamonds" debuted in November 1973.

  • What year did ITC come out?

  • ITC was a TV production company from 1956 to about 1996.

  • 1997

  • That thing is scary!
