  • thanks :)

  • @DaWorldSoSmall u should go its really fun and beautiful your gonna fall in love with the island

  • I saw the program and it was great! The greatest part of it is that shows all island cultural and racial diversity. Puertorican food is great because it has a confluence or heritage of european, african, and Native American. continues

  • @DragonflyPR59 Our food is full of taste spicy but not hot. That is the reason why many tourist that comes to PR just fall in love with it. In Puerto Rico we have great weather, great food, beautiful women and the best rum in the world! I do not know why people go to Mexico for spring breaks and do not come to Puerto Rico where the drinking age is 18 and in US Territory!

  • Whole roasted pig.

    I don't know why it's labeled bizarre.

That's the way to do it.

  • I'm probably the only Puerto Rican who doesn't consume pig in any form! No me gusta pernil, lechon asao, chicharron...etc...ugh!

  • i think so too mira

  • @jabori1 JA, embustero, si te comes a la gorda puerca de tu esposa, como vas a decir que nunca comes un lechon!

  • MEXICO Beef, and Goat, Puerto Rico Pork, it's all Good!! -TX

  • Ahh! no le gusto el caimito XD jaja, el caimito sabe bueno, pero es pegajoso. cuando lo pruebas jaja... the fruit in the end is caimito it taist good, but its really sticky and slimy. but really good.

  • el caimito si le gusto lo que no le gusto fue el corazon

  • She's hot!!!

  • yummmm Pernil!!!! its good to be Puerto Rican!

  • @cflores285 im puerto rican too!!!!!!! yay!!! the only thing wrong with puerto rico is the heat!

  • Believe it or not, no one in Condado could tell me a good lechonera where I didnt have to drive all the way to Guanica. I went to Pinones thinking someone would have roast pig, but all they had was pinchos and the pork was tough. I went to Fajardo and the same thing. I realize the island is large but cmon.

oh well, looks like I gotta go up to Freddy and Tonys in Philly or wait til next year.

  • next time ask a bartender or a fat Cop. You could have drive to Bayamon, Naranjito, Caguas, Loiza was pass Piñones. and i you drove to Fajardo you drove east instead of west , Fajardo is mostly Seafood. Next time visit us around the holidays around Thanxsgiving day , cause from that day on you can find this food anywere in PR , Ok my friend. Good luck.

  • A bartender told me weekends are better at Pinones. There were a lot of places with good food, just tough to find lechoneras like Cayey. Condado is too trendy for my taste and Fajardo did look like mostly seafood. I went to Luquillo one day all day and stopped at the kiosks on the way home and not one had roast pork. I ended up eating at Ajilli Mojilli and it was the best meal Ive ever had on the island. Im going back in FEb so we'll see.

  • hey Torr, you really didn't ask the right folks!!! the best LECHON (roast Pork)...... you GOTTA go to GUAVATE!! or Comerio............BUT if you get desperate and don't want to drive that far, you can try the Lechon at Bebos near the airport in Los Angeles,,..( NOT the one on Loiza St!!) if you need other suggestions, come to Sunday mass at Stella maris in Condado, we have great discussions and Island info after church and coffee is FREE!!

  • The best place to eat great pork ( nice and jucy and clean) is in Cayey Puerto Rico you wuold not regreted it!!! Is the best damn thing!

  • not only Cayey, but in all Puerto Rico, specially Guabate

  • yeah eat in guabate after eating, the charco azul ( blue pond)

  • esta verdad mira

  • you are a really sick man.... you have no right to make commentsl ike such

  • Maira Isabel is gorgeous and has a great laugh. Her bio says she is single. Crazy!

  • This is ridiculous. I am a native Puertorican and our food is not bizzare. It is similar to that of Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Dom. Republic.

  • I think you have a misunderstanding of the word "bizarre", as you seem to think that word is supposed to be negative by default. Your assumption is incorrect, sir.

  • "Bizarre" is just an opinion, not a fact. That's what the show is really all about. Normal food to me may not be to you, and vice versa.

  • I agree our food is quite normal for us who live here, but go to Europe and even US and the fact that we eat gandinga is quite bizarre for them. Also we have fruits that are quite unique, like the Heart ans yes it was not a guanabana or anything I was there. To me is one of the tasties fruits, to Andrew was the worst he ever had.

  • Sorry my friend...but gandinga is liver. they eat alot of it in the south states.

And the fruit he said he would not eat again is "corazones".

  • Hola... espero estes bien... Ya que participaste en el programa.. Sabes si ya se consigue este episodio para comprarlo?

  • Your comment is both insulting and absoulutely out of place... you're the kind of people that cant be alowed in this kinds of forums.

Both Mr. Zimmern and I are very respectful chefs who love what we do... Nothing else. You should be be very ashamed of yourself

  • hey that episode was pretty good, i actually took a trip over there about a month ago after i saw the show. Puerto Rico is even more beautiful in person and the food was great.

  • You tell 'em, sister! Lung got owned by a TV celebrity. I hope he's locked himself in his room, pissing himself with embarrassment. He's a jerk and a perv.

  • Eso eh... dile Maira como es. :-) Espero q estes bien. Abrazos mil - TJ (ex-ibc)

  • Ahora la' gente e'tan viendo que Puerto Rico e' lo mejor que hay en el mundo!

  • Like all of us, there are things he likes and dislikes in every country. Don't take it so personal.

  • ese lechon se ve tan ricooooo ( hablo de la comida) hahaha

  • he has to come to puerto rico to have real lechon and we make the best, he said it him self

  • Chef Maira Isabel is amazingly beautiful...I'm glad she was Andrew's tour guide..she took him to the right places.

  • Yah she's gorgeous.

  • Nice show... it shows more of the real side. I admit I follow No Reservations more but this is a way better show and depiction of PR than the one Bourdain did.

  • ja he din't like the guanabana

i love it ... favorite fruit!!

  • The fruit was NOT a guanabana, was a Corazon... might look like a guanabana but is not at all. Its actually very sweet, taste like anon

  • Why didnt he like it? Corazon taste really good... Maybe it reminded him of the durian fruit of Asia...

  • He didn't like the texture of it. I'm sure if he were to have the essence of it dripped over a pear, he'd like it.

  • Hey how come there is no mention of tainos??? When you watch the show it mentions it there?

  • jajajajjajajjajajaj lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

    black power

  • esoooooooo eeeehhhh BORICUA!!!!! jajaja lol =]

  • That's a fruit called guanabana en Puerto Rico

  • HAHA third world? i live in puerto rico, moved from new york, its no way near thrid world, i mean you do have traditional people here like you see there, but tis pretty much americanized, Mcdonalds, kfc, malls everywhere. so if you havent really been to PR dont talk.

  • Its like a Thai dish called kow car moo.

  • Bloody hell, attractive woman and food. My two favourite things in life.

  • the girl that is Andrew's guide is so hot.

  • She's SUCH a STUPID MORON. She laughs at everything he says. It boils my blood. She makes me feel ashamed of being PRican.

  • Que mucha baba hablan estos gringitos...es mejor nuestra comida a hamburgers de "fat food" hechos de 100% carne de que... LMAO

  • Eso E verdad....

  • this is not bizzare foods ok?

  • Was is custard apple?

  • Muslims hell

  • Why didn't he eat a puertorican? Oh yeah, because there are non there. They're all in the US.

  • i dont get it . . . . eat a puertorican?

  • the ones on the U.S are not puertorrican most of them were not born here

  • Frankly speaking, that kind of pork is seriously the best that even I have tasted. Is roasted pork. Excellence.

  • f u c k y o u!

im puertorican.... you are gay and you look like shit.. if you talk that gay

  • I heard he ate a Puerto Rican down there.

  • lmao hahhahahha

  • I live in Puerto Rico, and I've lived here since birth. I love the island. Filipinos should understand we were colonized first, and our people were raped, made into slaves, and brought misery to our island when the Spaniards came. People who are making fun of us from the US are retards because we're THEIR colony now. And we're fighting THEIR war. So RESPECT me and my people, because you all are wasting your time ranting at us puertorrique~os, and at the most beautiful women too, you bastards.

  • JOKE JOKE JOKE! NO OFFENSE

  • 0:05, the lady is turning into a pig.

  • sorry BTW.. i mean RULED not RULES

  • that why i hate CORTEZ >.> philippines (my homeland) based on our history........10% of filipinos were rules by spaniards and 90% of filipino hates spaniards....... we govern our selves so shut up you moron!

  • Who the hell are you calling a moron?...up to now I haven't launched a single insult at you, fucking asshole...thats one thing I don't like about youtube..little assholes like you can't even discuss a topic without calling people names...I don't like Spain either, they raped off our women, enslaved my people and stole all the riches from the island, but the point is, they colonized Puerto Rico before the Philippines idiot..regardles of it being 10% or whatever...they reached here first.

  • i went to puerto rico and tasted the pork and its good

  • We are good in boxing, basketball, baseball and volleyball.

  • no fucking way. i have decided to become a vegetarian. i will no longer eat red meat.

  • That doesnt surprise me ..you are a Celine Dion fan...

  • their letchon was lookes smashed

  • Dead animals is Cool!! im Hungry.

  • seem like u wanna eat kangaroos and dogs?

  • Sure its All Edible.

  • The fruit around 0:20 is just awesome. I don't understand how he doesn't like it..

I eat that fruit all the time :D

  • i dont give a shit whats bizzar for andrew that pig was lookin soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooo good

  • that pig toasting was started in philippines! when the fucking spaniards came

  • The Philippines was governed by Mexico City from 1565 to 1821, before it was administered directly from Madrid after the Mexican revolution...Puerto Rico had its first Spanish governor since 1508, so take your time...before the Spaniards even set foot in the Philippines we already had Spanish, African and Taino culture in our island.

  • That makes no sense. The Phillipines were not governed by Mexico City. They barely even govern themselves.

  • Colonization began when Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi, arrived from Mexico in 1565, and formed the first European settlements in Cebu. In 1571, they established Manila as the capital of the Spanish East Indies. The colony was governed as a territory of the Viceroyalty of New Spain from 1565 to 1821, and administered directly from Spain from 1821 to 1898 and either way Puerto Rico was a Spanish colony way before The Phillippines...since 1508 we had a Spanish governor, take your time.
