Both teams had something special going that year and it was a great game. The Giants defense in my mind was highly understated as the "true" MVP's of the big game that year. Battering a beleaguered Tom Brady and dominating the Pat's O Line. They contained the big plays over the top and kept the game always within their reach. Kudos to the Giants.
They earned the title road warriors for a reason. winning all them games on the road on the way to a surprise Super Bowl upset of giant proportions. Both teams had something special going that year and it was a great game. The Giants defense in my mind was highly understated as the "true" MVP's of the big game that year. Battering a beleaguered Tom Brady and dominating the Pat's O Line. They contained the big plays over the top and kept the game always within their reach. Kudos to the Giants.

@Y2JTO. if you actually watch the play, that was not a spear. he hit brady leading with his facemask. a spear is when the head is lowered and first contact is made with the top of the helmet, like a battering ram. As a matter of fact, it was a textbook tackle. @1:40 is the hit form various angles and you'll see it is clearly not a spear.

The amount of presure the Giants had from just 3-4-5 man fronts was amazing. Especially at the end of the game when with a three man fron on the last drive for the Pat's Brady gets drilled. That just symbolized how the battle went so much of the game between the O-line and D-Line. Great damn game.
