  • TrackIR is awesome.

The next best thing for flight simulators is voice control.

It can be tough to adjust speed, altitude and heading in virtual cockpit.

That's why i use something called "Multi Crew Experience". I can just bark voice commands, and the virtual co-pilot executes for me. I can even talk to native ATC or Radar Contact ATC.

Incidentally, there is a downloadable free demo. You'll have to find it on your own though :-))

  • @bigsparrow1 is the multi crew thing easy to set up? And do you have to read a manual three hundred pages just to know what to say?

  • track ir je dobar patent.

ali treba jos malo cekat dok bude minimalno dobar za igrat :D naprimjer sensor u jakom svijetlu nesmje smetati

  • It aint a rip off you get what you pay for. The IR 4 tracks alot of diferent movements in hi resolution If you cant afford it try the lower quality web cam tracking software or use the hat switch on your joystick.

  • @NielsShoe The camera is 640x480. That isn't high resolution.

    Whole detector is worth $10.

The Track Clip PRO is 3 infra red LEDS with a plastic casing - probably costs them under $5 each to manufacture.

The hardware is probably worth $30 retail (including Track Clip Pro). The software definitely isn't worth USD$130.

  • @MikeT2005 Yes but they are a business... when you factor in standard business costs, i.e staff, premesis, marketing you can understand the markup.

  • @MikeT2005 Its called PROFIT, and your gonna have to get used to it, everything is made cheap as chips then sold at much higher price, did you know it costs nike about $1.80USD to make a pair of runners? yet they sell them for $100+

  • croatian...e btw dobar video :)

  • Ne kontam kako ce upravljati windowsima s time?

  • cho eto za jazik?

  • Natural Point didn't make these products to compete with free (well, you have to pay a good bit to make a decent setup yourself, and for a fast webcam) software. TrackIR works, you get what you pay for, as well as customer service, warranty and help. If you have a problem with your own headtracking unit, you have to pay for damages. All I can say is if you do consider building your own, be careful with the wiring, if you get a shock (on your head, keep in mind), it's your own fault.

  • I love mine!!! so easy to use! I use it on IL-2, cant play with out it!!! its just awsome!!!

  • you can make your wiimote do something like this. watch johnny lee's videos.

his home-made way is even neater that this overpriced piece of crap.

  • Well, it's cheaper now, $140.

Anyway, if something works the way it should, it's not a rip-off.

  • how is it not a rip-off if you can get exactly same thing for 40-50 bucks?

  • But it work's on a different system and software, so it's not ripping off anything.

  • but it's the same principal! They both use IR cameras to track IR leds. and actually they both use same hardware. IR camera and IR Leds. So yea, it is a ripoff.

  • it's non-intuitive, contrary to how it looks.

in the real world you turn your head AND eyes to the left to look left, not head left and eyes right.

it doesn't matter if it amplifies your head movement, your eyes still have to move in the opposite direction of what's intuitive.

i agree you could get used to it, but for the money you shouldn't have to.

  • that shits fucking expencive

  • Track IR has a Hardware Defect where the device will die after sometime of use. This has happened to quite a few people and it seems random when this will happen and who to, mine died in the middle of LOMAC after just 1 yr & 2 mths. If this happens out of the 1 year warranty then your fucked, dont expect any replacement or help from naturalpoint or the place of purchase. For something that costs so much youd expect a lifetime warranty... maybe this is the reason of why such a short warranty. :(

  • But the track IR can only used in a 3d virtual cockpit of fs2004 or fsx? Or can i use it also in the normal view. I mean without showing the cockpit on the monitor.

  • how do you charge those thing on your cap , i didnt see wires or batteries

  • its IR reflectors.

Ir light comes from the thing on the monitor, and the thing on the cap reflects in back to camera.

  • nice, do a vid showing your saitek yoke!

  • vay aq super

  • man i need one of these!

  • Süper bişey :)

  • Your view never leaves the screen, as your head movement is amplified.

  • Your head/eyes never stop looking at the screen. The movement is amplified, within the gaming app......

  • prabably need more monitor

  • The problem is, you're looking away from the screen when you want to turn in one direction.

  • no, when you look say 2Degrees left, it magnifies it by like 4 times so you never look away

  • cool
