  • loved that movie!

  • where can i see this?!?

  • @maryannclimbs You can buy both the DVD and Blu-ray on Amazon UK: ; They ship worldwide

  • this is the saddest movie ever made. last hour of it is almost unbearably emotional. 10/10 movie

  • Magnificent film, no film has ever made me cry like this one.

  • I love Tetsuya Nakashima. Thanks a lot Thirdwindowfilms!!!

  • about to watch this movie tonight. the story seems good but i hate musicals. we'll see how it turns out:)

  • Tetsuya Nakashima is a movie god!

  • @turquoisesurprise Yes. yes I did.

  • Arghh I cannot believe this movie came on at like 1 am yesterday on flim4 and finished around 4 and I Missed it cos i had school today!!

  • The problem with this film is that people will just dismiss it as another "wacky japanese film" and move onto another film. I was watching this film with a friend and hiss immature jokes ruined the first half hour so I told him to fuck off.

Ignorance seems to ruin everything. Love this film.

  • @AliminiumHydroxide LOL i know exactly what you mean.

  • It is on Film 4 in the UK again on Monday morning 1.25 am Monday 28th February

Though nothing can beat the quality of the blu ray edition

  • Got the Bluray last week. Vast improvement on the DVD!

It has replaced The Fall as the most gorgeous Bluray in my collection.

  • The blu ray is out tomorrow in the UK & the film is on Film 4 1.10 am on Saturday

  • I wish this movie have a happy ending.

    It me sad. T_T

  • why is this not on netflix?

  • why is this not on Netlix????

  • Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I bawled like a little girl at this movie.

  • Great film, can anyone tell me what the song Is called which Matsuoko sings and at the end, everyone sings it. Sho, Ryu, the father, Megumi etc.

  • @jumbodavejimbo

The song is' Bend and Stretch' a childrens song from an old American children's programme called

Romper Room. This is the Japanese version I presume from the Japanese version of Romper Room. UK & Australia also have or had version of the show Romper Room.

  • Oh man, I want to watch this. :D

  • this is like the most miserable movie i've seen but still showing something funny its like omg why is this so sad and funny at the same time

  • Arghhh came on Film4 Like today/yesterday :')

    Loved it <3

  • I LA LA LOVE THIS FILM! It made me laugh and cry even long after the ending credits. Tetsuya-sama did an amazing job in this film!

  • I want to watch this so badly.

  • Ah, I love this movie. To me, this is even better than "Amélie" because it's not just funny and sweet, it also has this wonderful tragic story. Despite everything that happened to her, Matsuko always saw the best in people. A very inspirational film; also the director did an amazing job, every episode of Matsuko's life has a different style.

  • Wathed it tonight.

DVD wise I honestly think you should have gone for a widescreen format instead of the letterbox thing with forced subtitles. Also some of the songs weren's subtitled which I would lhave liked to have seen subtitled.

Movie-wise though... Seriously fantastic. Amazing stuff. Insanely funny but also very sade and also very beautiful... great film. One of the best I've seen this year...
