Well being a Chinese American, I can honestly tell you that Chinese engineers are very bright (and many come to US to study btw) and can create technology on par with the US in the next three decades. And you might say, 'but all they do is freakin copy'

Being a history buff myself, I never imagined how the soviets could actually invade the US without being detected, but when I first starting playing this game, I went HOLY SH*T this could've actually happened. It freaking sent chills down my spine. But one thing bothers me. Being Canadian myself, why we they ONLY invade the US West coast and not the WHOLE North-American West coast (including British-Colombia)?
Just because the USSR managed to do so in the game, doesnt mean they could in real life. the WIC storyline is full of military flaws etc. Like the chinese joining the russians and the spetznaz incursion.
The Peoples Republic of China joining the war on the side of the USSR is in no way a flaw. They were one of the Soviet Union's strongest allies. We rebuilt their country for them during the Cold War, developed their infrastructure and industry as well as turning their army into one of the world's largest and most poweful war machines. So yeah, it would have been very probable.
the whole reason they didn't is man power. You have to keep in mind that they are still fighting all of Europe from the tip of Norway to the end of Africa(it would seem due to some trailers) so they could only do so much with the rest. So they chose to get the US out of the way and I'm sure they would have gone for Canada next if they won
I hope so. I was so disappointed with the single player campaign. It ended so quickly, there was no option for skirmishes against computer controlled enemies, and no Soviet campaign (although, you have to admit, both sides are almost identical).
I don't suppose anyone knows the music that starts when the gunship starts attacking the police cruiser? It plays during the campaign in the last couple of levels. I think everyone is looking for it.
are you retarded? the singleplayer was longer than most rts games out right now, there IS an option for skirmishes against the ai, up to 16 player including yourself, and the solviet and american weaponry look tons different, look at any amercian vehicle, then the same vehicle for russians and itl look different.

I do agree, a lot of the "war glamor" depicted by the American media is just jingoist crap, but you will also find Hollywood depictions where the Americans are depicted in a not-so-pretty light.
Well, Germans, Japanese, or Italians should be offended by the WWII where you fight as an allied troop against the axis, Koreans and Vietnamese should be offended by the games that deal with their respective wars, etc. In any historical war game, someone is going to be offended. (And it's not as if there are no games or movies depicting the hero as killing American troops--I came across a flash game called "Liberation" or something once where the player snipes off US Marines in Iraq.)
I have heard (but cannot confirm) that there will be another World in Conflict released, this time with a Soviet single-player campaign. Unfortunately I've been to their official website and it doesn't seem likely.
There is one confirmed that is going to be released on the next gen consoles and as a expansion pack for the PC called, Soviet Assault. And yes it plays from the Soviet's viewpoint.
reply to Crapololo: if your friend is a true loyalist to the old soviet empire, then he/she would find this game enjoyable, just as I, this and red alert is the only 2 game that I know of that we can actually play as communism strength and crush the heart of capitalism, America. by the way, if the soviet attacked, they wouldnt do that, they just nuke every major city of america and america would retaliate the same and im sure the war would end quickly with devastating results.
I also have a Russian friend. Of course, he is Jewish and some of his ancestors were driven out of Russia. That doesn't mean he has no pride for Russia and its accomplishments, of course, but Soviet Russia has not been the most stable world power.
It was scary how the replicated Seattle in-game. I recognized the streets that were being torn apart by artillery strikes, and the docks being invaded by Soviets.
I don't get why as soon as the russians landed, the airforce didn't bomb the shit out of the harbour. they didnt come in warships so they'd have no ground to air missiles

I hope so. I was so disappointed with the single player campaign. It ended so quickly, there was no option for skirmishes against computer controlled enemies, and no Soviet campaign (although, you have to admit, both sides are almost identical).
I don't suppose anyone knows the music that starts when the gunship starts attacking the police cruiser? It plays during the campaign in the last couple of levels. I think everyone is looking for it.

are you retarded? the singleplayer was longer than most rts games out right now, there IS an option for skirmishes against the ai, up to 16 player including yourself, and the solviet and american weaponry look tons different, look at any amercian vehicle, then the same vehicle for russians and itl look different.

I mean that both the American and Soviet units play almost exactly the same. I don't have a problem with that. I was just making an observation. Anyways, maybe you're right and I just missed the skirmish mode.

I do agree, a lot of the "war glamor" depicted by the American media is just jingoist crap, but you will also find Hollywood depictions where the Americans are depicted in a not-so-pretty light.

Well, Germans, Japanese, or Italians should be offended by the WWII where you fight as an allied troop against the axis, Koreans and Vietnamese should be offended by the games that deal with their respective wars, etc. In any historical war game, someone is going to be offended. (And it's not as if there are no games or movies depicting the hero as killing American troops--I came across a flash game called "Liberation" or something once where the player snipes off US Marines in Iraq.)

I have heard (but cannot confirm) that there will be another World in Conflict released, this time with a Soviet single-player campaign. Unfortunately I've been to their official website and it doesn't seem likely.

There is one confirmed that is going to be released on the next gen consoles and as a expansion pack for the PC called, Soviet Assault. And yes it plays from the Soviet's viewpoint.

reply to Crapololo: if your friend is a true loyalist to the old soviet empire, then he/she would find this game enjoyable, just as I, this and red alert is the only 2 game that I know of that we can actually play as communism strength and crush the heart of capitalism, America. by the way, if the soviet attacked, they wouldnt do that, they just nuke every major city of america and america would retaliate the same and im sure the war would end quickly with devastating results.

I also have a Russian friend. Of course, he is Jewish and some of his ancestors were driven out of Russia. That doesn't mean he has no pride for Russia and its accomplishments, of course, but Soviet Russia has not been the most stable world power.

It was scary how the replicated Seattle in-game. I recognized the streets that were being torn apart by artillery strikes, and the docks being invaded by Soviets.
