  • I still listen to it in 2012.Awesome love song..

  • I just said the title to this song to you via text, my Aphrodite, and I immediately came here to listen to this love classic. I want to feel your love again and move under it and dance to the rhythm of the music that our souls make as we crash into each other at the end of the long hard road that leads straight to your love.

  • Love is a gift that we shall never take for granted.

  • This was one of the romantic ballads played at our wedding reception back in '96! Beautiful ballad. Wonder where the Surface band is now?

  • @rcrr969800 One of the band members has died, I'm not sure which one though

  • @salinster David Townsend (guitar/keyboards) is the one who died. Before "SURFACE", he played for The Isley Brothers for 5 years as a member of their back-up band SUNRIZE, who recorded the song Who's Stickin?

  • My old boss was Bernard Jackson's old boss. He always said that Bernard talked about working on music and being a star one day. So cool he made such a memorable and successful song.

  • playing it over and over again.....i love this song.....

  • i love this song sooo much even though i wasn't born that year yet. not long later i was born in the 90's. this is sooo good. i wonder what happened to amazing songs like these. these days lots of songs don't even match to those great and amazing old songs. now lots of artist sing only about drugs, sex, and how people look. no more of that real true feel of music where it makes u enjoy it a lot and wanna over and over.

  • one of the classic love songs of that time period!!! i still love it!!!!

  • who can not love this song, i might be 24, but still love the 80's song, i want to get marry on this song as well............... ALL SMILE :)

  • @shalanecole I want this song played when I get married too

  • i miss black people looking like that. instead of the flatbill hats

  • This is for you J.E.

  • im so glad im a 80's baby love love love this song:):):)

  • Everyone should listen to this song. Imagine life filled with good Love music. The 1980's were the best times of my life. Living life all through the mid 1990's going to college.

  • and today my 4 year old grandaughter sings it everytime I play it!!!

  • yeah back n da day u had the good r&b they had the music to where u and you mate could argue they had the song to have your mind changes and reconnect or for when u want to propose they had it all. With soul and meaning.

  • I remembered I had a Tribute to the 80s party three years ago with my friends & my boyfriend. This song started playing & we started slow dancing. I had my first kiss on this song!

  • my goodness, the best memories with this song - at school dances when all the boys and girls would slow dance....lovely song...

  • Billboard's #75 hit of '89. Surface hit #1 soul, #3 AC, #5 pop, in Billboard. God bless!

  • This song is a relic of the time when black male musicians could still actually sing. Nowadays, the industry will just groom some 20-something kid off the streets to rap about drugs, streets and bitches.

  • @Templier90 -i totally agree with you.music today is just like a fast food joint, order your meal and it's done in 3 minutes. there is no more hard work. 80% of the artist today are just young, untalented, watered down, cookie cutter clowns.they can't play real instruments anymore, perform as groups, or sing without having auto tune cover their horrible singing.not all but 75% are shitty.it's all about big asses, pretty faces, and no freaking talent. i see the shit all the time. all image now.SAD

  • OMG way back, back in the good days!

  • This is realness....im 21 years old b...and I love this...I thank GOD for this type of music. Could sit in the whip and bump this and just not even think of lustful things. Just pure love joint is deep

  • man if someone did their hair like him today I would give them hella props lol thats the shit

  • I honestly feel really bad for the kids thats growing up to the music nowadays. I mean, what's they're wedding song gonna be when they grow up?

    imagine... ewwwwwwwwwww

  • @bow2urepnoy2 Booty booty booty booty booty everywhere....Doh! hahaha. I hope my daughters will come to me for a good song to dance to, by the time they are married it will be crap.

  • i dont care what noone says the late 80,s and 90,s had the best music period they had real real r&b not that bullshit you hear out today and i was born in 88

  • @ROCKSTAR3788 Thank You! I agree 100%. I was born in 1980 and the late 80's and 90's had real music. I don't know what happened but r&b sucks today. No one really sings anymore.

  • @ROCKSTAR3788 I agree with u..I was born in 1986

  • @ROCKSTAR3788 I was born 76 but i still love the music from 80 and 90

  • @ROCKSTAR3788 I think it was a good period but the 70's was the best if you like all types of music. You are right because it was the last of the good singing.

  • @ROCKSTAR3788 maybe up to 94. after that it's trash! I cant even trun the radio on any more! music now blows

  • marriage and get a trusted women Online *lushfmlk.info*

  • that chick is cute

  • Back in the eighties, I never danced. One thousand years later, I choose this awesome song to dance for the first time with my daughter on quinceanera, instead of the traditional waltz. Nataly, you will always be my true princess and I will be here waiting to dance with you when ever you are ready to do so. You are too young to understand many things now. I pray you will understand why I stood away from you on such beautiful occasion. Love, dad.

  • Now THIS is real music, & THIS is what a music video is supposed to be. When this album "2nd wave" came out. I was 17 & went on a fishing trip to Mi. I played this tape on my walkman for the entire 4 hr drive to the lake & I must have played this song 30 times that day. I still love this entire album to this day.

I Thank God for this real music when I was growing up. I play this kind of music for my kids now so that they can see what it's supposed to be like. R.I.P David Townsend of Surface.

  • THIS MY MOM SONG

  • i love music videos from this era. the women are beautiful without showing a lot of skin...nothing like the music videos of today where nudity = beauty

  • damn i love this song

  • I believe I was about 8, when I first heard this song. My cousin used to play this, all of the time. I don't think I have heard this, since then.
