My friend was playing this game when his graphics card got fried. The screen went pink and a voice said: I have new orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Then it went black. He's not played it since then.

The thing which pi**es me most is that in this game player is a stinking nazi scum sinking allies shipping! That's should be never done, as nazis should be killed, not helped. That game should portrait allies submarine actions, for example in Mediterrean Sea - operating being surroundered by nazi german and fascist italy would be more challenging than sinking unarmed merchant ships at Atlantic Ocean.
It actually wouldn't be as fun though if you think about it for a minute. Why does ubisoft do this huh. Even thought about that question. Maybe they are giving us a view from the other side which is what i like alot. Get a view from the axis side rather then fight on the side you live in. It should be understandable that Ubisoft can only use American submarines against the Japs only since Germany didn't send out alot of ships to sea.

2. Silent hunter was pretty arcadey since III to be fair. If you wanted anything realistic you had to use mods. Now I might only be speaking for myself but after making the games more realistic I actually liked them less and realised that dying in a submarine isn't fun
I was hoping for Silent Hunter V to be a U-boat sim.....a World War One U-boat sim.
The great war, great times for the U-boats. Not many planes capable of sinking a U-boat in WW1, not many depth charges, not many aircraft carriers. No sonar, no radar. Just lots of lovely juicy targets! And great liners like the Lusitania....oh yes! Plus big fat British dreadnaughts, just asking for it. Plus lots of opportunity to use the deck gun. Great War = great fun. And no Nazis!
that would be too easy. about the no sonar the allies did delelope early hydrophonees to aid in their hunt for german uboats late in WWI. that would make for a intersting but over all too easy. game
Needed alot of work done on the audio side of things but not too bad a trailer I guess. Fucking loved Silent Hunter 3 so hopefully this will be good too.
Would people shut up about the language? If the game is going to be localized into English then it makes SENSE for there to be English voices, not everyone will understand German and it's a lot easier on English speaking people if English is used instead of subtitles.

I think a really exciting SHV would be the Russian side of the Cold War, albeit a fictional scenario where the Cold War turned hot (with unscripted gameplay and loose mission orders, of course).

Silent Hunter 3 had American voices as well in the game but the player could turn that off in the options menu and have them all speak German. This shouldn't be any different.

Let me get this straight, the U-Boat is lollygagging around completely aware that a fleet of escorts is bearing down on them and the first inkling of an air attack is the bombs. That movie is an insult to the U-Boat sailors and I don't even like U-Boats! lol. The artwork is just as silly. Why not try selling a simulation as simulation and not an arcade game?

In Das Boot, many of the actors provided their own voices in English. That's why it was ok. In this, I'd rather just play in German with subtitles.
