I could never get tired of watching Mark Roth win. He is the Babe Ruth of bowling, He changed bowling from being a finesse/accuracy game to being a power game.
thanks for the video --thru your videos you have allowed us so many great memories--- we have witnessed a ton of hall of fame players during the golden age of bowling- Thanks mrbowling300!
Mr bowling, i've been watching heaps of your videos on u tube. Great to see all the old matches from years gone by. I spend hours on u tube. Thank you.
Teacher vs Student, Mark Roth who Pete Weber modeled his game after, even with Pete's father being arguably the greatest bowlers of all time... Mark Roth is one of the rare people in sports to change the way their sport was played and influenced every power player that followed him.
Most of who, Holman by no means was a power player or cranker. His lower arm swing is almost extinct on the tour. Of the two Holman and Roth, I would say Roth is the more emulated player. That being said Holman's smooth delivery and steady head is who would show most young bowlers in coaching.
It is also a shame that Satellite Bowl where this was at is no longer with us either. Ah the progress of real estate development. Thanks for all your great videos mrbowling300.
Thanks so much for posting this, I've been wanting to see this for a long time. Not only Roth going over the million dollar mark, but I think this was Pete's lowest game ever on TV!
Wow! Thanks for posting this historic footage of Mark Roth going over the 1 million dollar mark in career earnings on the PBA. The bowling center Mark bought in 1984 was Rainbow Lanes, a bowling center found in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn. Sadly it's not there anymore as it closed in 1996.

Marshal Holman was the guy most of them wanted to throw the ball like.

LOL! trust me ask Mark Baker he will tell you "When I was out on tour, everyone wanted to throw the ball like Holman he had a game to die for"

@solaidback21
you are correct; i believe it is known that pete grew up wanting to bowl the game that roth bowled.
mjhbkfan sounds like a kid! "LOL...Trust me..." typical young kid speak! probably not even old enough to have seen those roth telecasts.

Roth 34 Weber 34 titles

Took Roth a lot less time to win his 34 than it took Pete to win his.

@brian1969a I second that.

Just curious as to what has replaced Rainbow Lanes? This was Roth's 31st title...sadly, he would win only 3 more over the next 11 years out there.
