Remember your project mix is a Input\output device which requires recording software....you need the proper recording software and then you can asign inputs for all of your bands...you have at least 8 inputs.
Do you use the projectmix audio interface for recording vocals?Has it low enough latency for me to record and monitor my track as I sing it from the sequencer(pro tools/cubase) with an effect, I like tracking vocals with a reverb. This can be difficult with High latency. It's the same if I wanna plug a guitar in and use a Amp simulator like AMplitube ot Guitar rig. I need low latency to play it TIght. Will the projectm. do the job? internal has good latency how about this fire wire interface??
I do record vocals and have not yet experienced latency...but I do have to tell you that if your computer is not up to par then you will have problems with M-Powered Protools keeping up. I have a Quad core cpu computer so its fast! Never had delays using the fire wire cable. But Like I said its up to your CPU and protools. Other then that the PMix is the shit!
whats up! love the video, and yeah if you still have the offer on the table about needing the remote file i think i need it. Now, just wont to ask a question-i have reason 4.0 do i still need the files or what? also, i just got projectmix i/o used and just wondering do it have some kind of locking mechanism or block out on the aux keys, because my 4 & 5 are not responding, but 1 - 3 are. Thank you! for your time it's a pain trying to figure out all this stuff and once again wonderful video.
Just give me your email and I will send it to you. Reason 4.0 don't remember if I needed it since I just did an upgrade. If it does not come up as a project mix when you auto detect then you need the remote file. No, nothing should be blocking your channel...maybe you have a bad PMIX. All of mine work fine.
I have the ProjectMix running protools m powered & The recording time clock is running crazy, its not steady..like stop & go..Anyone know????Ive tested the interface on another system & thats not the problem...Please help!!!
Hey there, it's Robdrums here again. I just wanted to ask you something about your project mix i/o, if I may?
I am thinking of going from my Motu Ultra lite to the project mix i/o but I'm curious if the MIC PRE's sound good? for guitar vox bass, etc? Any help, greatly appreciated.
The mic pre's are pretty darn impressive and do the job as long as your gains aren't clipping audio. The Project Mix also has an input in the front for guitar\bass which is really good. You can always get a compressor and put it between the connections of the mic to the PMIX for added control.
I am running Sonar 7 Pro Edition but thinking if I switch to the Project Mix, I might just start running Protools.
I figure if that guy who wrote the music for Pirates of The Caribean with the Proj mix io, then it must be half decent :)
So, it's time for the proj mix and some new monitors for me. These DX 4's I have right now, I seem to be outgrowing, as I learn more about mixing and mastering.
Whats your email address, I send you some stuff I've been working on.
Hey thanks for that info, another quick question for ya, if I may.
Do you know if I would be able to hook up the motu ultra lite I have in conjunction with the project mix I/O that way, I'll have 10 Pre amps instead of 8...
Good looking on the video. I just got the 24 in i mac wit the project mix but since the fucking i mac has the leopord OS, it doesn't rcognize pro tools. SO i gotta wait. But in the meantime i'm soaking game for conncections and how to use my shit. Appreciate the post. Right on.
Hey there, i have a similar set up to you minus the project mix/m-powered, but want to get pro tools in some shape or form(obviously have to buy another interface). Is the project mix worth forking the cash out for or do you recon an mbox 2 will suffice. (I want you to sell the project mix to me cause it looks amazing)
Its really up to how much money you got. The Project Mix only works with ProTools M-powered (which you have to buy)and the Mbox2 brings Protools LE and will cost you about $450.
Project Mix + Protools M-powerd = $1300
MBOX2 + Protools LE = $450
The project mix gives you way more control with faders, inputs, and you can use it with ohter programs.
Hello Mark, Having 2 monitors does help your work flow because you can have all the plug ins\mixer on one monitor and the sequencer\Tracks on the other all in full screen resolution. This would minimize the numbers of windows open and can decrease the time it takes to edit a track.
Yeah, the Project mix has great sound qaulity and ive recorded acouple demos for some cats in my project studio thru the projextmix I/O and i wasnt using any compressers, Peak limiters, gate or nothin.. just used the preamp that the project mix has built in.
show a video on tracking out a beat with reason on da projectmix. hows the sound quality on the projectmix? i got more questions but i dont wanna b a nag lol
Remember that the project mix is a midi controller and a sound card (all it will do is control devices with in reasons just like any other midi controller but with the motorized faders). The P-Mix has one of the best M-audio sound cards built into and its fire wire.

Why do you use 2 monitors?
Does it make your workflow faster or something?
Do you use 2 monitors to work with 2 softwares at the same time or something?

Thanks, i would i think im going to buy another monitor too.
I think it will be usefull for FL with Guru and Pro Tools.
I wanna get the M-Audio ProjectMix when ive sold my MV-8800.
Should i hook up my turntables to the ProjectMix to sample? Does the ProjectMix sound good to record vocals?
