  • great playing!!!!!!

  • Fuck yea.

  • im done

  • wow this makes it clear what a huge contribution match made to this song in particular...

  • 1) I remember going to a drum clinic with Kenny Aronoff. He was discussing how anyone can copy a drummers style and sound good repeating that artists song. He was making the point about distinguishing a great drummer, using the "Jack and Diane" song as an example. John and the boys were at the board, Kenny was in the tank and had to think of a fill after the drum machine part to bridge the song together. What Kenny came up with "made" that song and we all know that drum bridge today.

  • 2) He was saying anyone can copy what I did, but create it in the studio is where the real talent lies. Now here's the point I want to draw, because I know everyone is reading this thinking I'm trying to downplay Sturty. Watching Sturty play, I know he has the MM style down to the letter, no question. If I put a band together with Sturty on drums, with all original songs, I know Sturty is inspired by the greats to make his own style licks and fills, making him one kick ass drummer.

  • 3) Of all the drumming inspirations he chose, he selected one of the greats, making him a very talented player. He may or may not seem that his talent is anything special, which is a sign of a humble musician, but to other people, he sounds like a percussion master. That's how you put an "A" list drummer together! In the words of Southpark "Kick ass dude!"
