FUCK! Even if they weren't as good during the 80s as they were during the 70s, they still were up there above the rest! Not among- above! I think that much can be blamed on the actual equipment used during the 80s. It had changed to much for them to sound just like they sounded during their heydays, and Blackmore seemed to have forgot who he was at the time because of all the Vais and Malmsteens. No matter what, they ROCKED, and I got a lot of great memories from the reunion time!
You are right, my nickname comes from a Morse era song. And I do not take it personally. You did not understand what I meant in the first place. They don't play the unisono bit right and I have never heard them playing it right. In order to make it sound right, every musician has to play it in a perfect rhythm; this is a very classical bit, there's no place for improvisation here. This is why your arguments do not apply here.

In other words, it means one melody played by more than one musician , which makes it impossible to improvise as musicians would have to come up with the same phrase at the same time.
I heard a few versions of this song and they never got this middle oriental unisono right:) Someone is always out of the right pace. A very tough part to play though. This is a much better version than the one in Paris.
Sure people can outdshred him now, but he is the father of shred and the studio version of this song shows he could shred with the best of them until he chose not to. Peace out.

I am a HUGE Deep Purple fan, but this does not mean I cannot spot when they cock up. It happens to the best musicians.
All the best mate.

The unisono is NOT improvised!!! If you do not understand the terminology, check the vocabulary.

Love this song! Gillan's vocals are in better shape than the Paris show, were he had a pretty bad cold.
