Another New Orleans recording from Ernie K. Doe(Ernie Kador) with hearing Lee Allen on drums and a good horn section probably Alvin "Red"Tyler.... good sound. Harry Soulman
Couldn't help but laugh. I'm a GRITS (Girls Raised In The South) from the deep south and we say Pe-Cons. My grandmother always told me Pee-Cans was something she used to keep under her bed when it was too dark to go to the outhouse. Just thought you might get a laugh out of that. Just goes to show you that even us die hard southerners have our own dialects. But hey, we still have the greatest music in the world.
I am just a 47 year old punk Metry white boy from New Orleans. Believe this... My Dad was a New Orleans R&B 45 collector. He's got them all. I listened to this great music every Saturday and Sunday of my entire childhood life. This is by far one of the "DEEP CUTS" only true New Orleans R&B fans know and love. GREAT SONG!
I remember this hit by Ernie, as I put it in my record collection, believe you me. I didn't take off on his prior hit as much as others may have, but them the brakes. I just liked it, it was an unusual hit, like Abduls party or Aladdin.....about a minuet into the video, i see a scene that reminds me of the school gym noon hour sock hop. There were a few guys that looked like him and they walked away with the prize. No I never envied guys like him, I only wished to be friends with these punks
@Ezdduf4kuZ hey that still looks like me & it might as well be me! your referring to that punk, a minuet into the video, right? anyway, for one thing, i'm not so much a punk, but i certainly am a flirt, i flirt with some of the guys too, not that i'm gay but i'm just checking them out, to see what's what with them. Anyway if that's the makings of a punk, then i stand to be corrected. Someone referred me to this particular video & i wonder why? i like it, i'm into that early punk rock.

I played this for some friends , lets say from North of the Mason Dixon line,
they thought I was nuts for liking this...but then again, they say Pe-Chawn
(rhymes with Shawn) instead of Pee-cans...
