Didn't rate this car, me and my dad took a brand new one he'd bought for rental fleet up to scotland for a week. There was loads of snow and it really put this car through it's paces. We we're driving up an A road and the car came to a stop as a result of a small blizzard. The traction control works well as we tested but didn't help when we careered off the road at about 50mph into a heap of snow, lucky really no damage at all. I guess the cars pretty sturdy but could do with a diff lock.

the only wrong thing vw did is that they put such an ugly cockpit in the tiguan

the tiguan and q5 are pretty much the same cars, but the q5 has such a nicer cockpit

looks like the front bumper piece was removed for more off road capabilites. This is just soft roading, take this in mud and its patrhetic but then again you dont buy it to go in mud, but really if u want a vw 4x4 get the toureg this is just a glorified golf.

there are 3 Tiguan configurations , Trend & Fun , Sport & Style and the one in this video , Track & Field , the more offroad focused version.

lets be honest , how much off road does the average guy need ? there are better options for the off road enthusiasts , but this little SUV does the job it's meant to do.

I've owned a RAV4 before the Tiguan was made. But if I'm ever in the market again, it is a very tempting vehicle. Having owned VWs in the past I already know how well they hold up.

I just love the fact that VW is getting involved with its lineup, small SUV's and now a minivan! this is what VW is about and like a great company should, they keep up with changing times, This is no exception, great value and of course that wonderful euro-feel that the japanese just cant match. I've been a VW/Audi loyalist for 4 cars already and i stand behind them.

These cars are just as much to drive and own then the higher brands such as BMW, Benz and Lexus. My Audi A4 Quattro V6 had 198k before i was offered $4,000 by one of the Audi techs who always changed the oil. I kept that car in such good condition and the leather Audi uses is probably the finest quality in all of Germany, no rips or tears and it aged very well. If i wasnt offered that much, id still have it. I then took that money an bought my 00' Jetta 2.0L 5spd which is just as good as solid.

It worths every dollar of its price....Why paying $34000 for a RAV4 Limited, that is not half capable to do what this one can do, when I can get a Tiguan for the same price and diesel, it is way more capable, way more safety and way more car for the price. Cant compare an overpriced japanese car with an european legend like VW.

You're wrong there. VW spent a lot of time and money making sure the Tiguan was off-road capable. And this version, the Track & Field, ha some additional features to make it even better in the dirt.

They ride on the same chassis and are similar. I suppose you have never heard of the Golf Synchro or the Golf Country, this is kind of the same thing, only better and with the ability ot carry more.
