What's the difference in him using the vehicle for that versus driving it to Nashville for the State Sheriff's meetings, etc.? And NO I'm not from Scott County, I'm from Anderson County. I know Anthony Lay and have had a lot of respect for him for many years. Seems the ones who don't like him have relatives that his department has put in jail. Maybe that's the reason for the slamming and poor mouthing, huh?

Sheriff Lay is considered sheriff 24/7. He is not considered a hourly employee. Sheriff Lay is trying to bring education, as well as, professionalism to our sheriff's department and jail. I will have to stand behind my Sheriff in this situation. Well, I am and that black Ford Expeditiom on the tape as you know belongs to Sheriff Anthony Lay, but however it is a police vehicle that the citizens of Scott County are paying for, gas and everything!!! It is only to be used in Scott County, TN or if Sheriff Lay was to have a meeting in another county regarding our Sheriff's Department; however he was at a college in Lafolette TN which is in Campbell County, TN.

He had classes that same day and because of his earlier meeting he did not have time to come all the way back to Scott County and exchange veheicles and still make his classes.
