  • Sheesh, this is awful!! Not just sloppy, but at 1:53 JP Jones launches into the rising bass riff before the song even gets there. You always wanna love the Zep, but this is proof they were human--in fact they could suck.

  • too much phaser + not the greatest Jimmy performance= less than ideal outcome, but fuck it's zeppelin so who fuckin cares, it still kicks my ass...that solo best ever, the phrasing is insane

  • haha my dad went to this when he was 17 XD

  • Yeah Bonzo looks heavy here. Quite a difference to the Bonzo of Royal Albert Hall '70 - a lean vision in a red singlet top tearing into We're Gonna Groove like an animal.

  • Looks like Bonzo was starting to get a little tubby at this point.

  • this is just Right in your face JIZZED!!!!!

  • catiena n'azident!

  • what Jimmy page was thinking at the time "so what my guitars out of tune i'm jimmy motherfucking page!"

  • watching them play reminds me each time why they are the greatest band in the world

  • I was at this concert.

It sounded 1000 times better than this.

  • this is so nice

  • very druggy, but its cool :D

  • yeah this is pretty bad. I have a bootleg from just a month before this where they played at the forum and they rocked the fuck out of achilles, it blows this one to smitehreens. i listened to that shit all summer long in 2004 after finding in the closet of my room in the new house we moved into.

  • I would give my balls to see Led Zeppelin live

  • Beautiful, love it !

  • I was 14 at this show, the Kingdome was horrible sounding but it was such an awesome event to be at. $10.00 per ticket festival seating for all three levels but you had to stay at the level your ticket was numbered for. I'll never forget the show and still have my ticket stub!

  • Plant was still suffering from his injuries that he sustained from that car crash while he was on vacation in Greece.

  • what happened to his voice??

  • Jimmy did a nice solo in this, i liked it better then the knebworth one

  • im the biggest page fan ever and i can admit he screwd this performance up big time... he is on some serious drugs lol...

  • @juniorlokey his guitar sounds outta tune to me...I dunno

  • Jimmy fucks that gibson like a teenage school girl

  • Stop being such fucking fanboys, robert plant himself admitted this was their worst performance ever. It's total fucking shit.

  • @Ln192 Tempe is there worst.

    This isn't bad at all

  • @Ln192 Hahahah, lies Seattle is far from their worst.

@kildare97 Oh god yes, Tempe was a fucking disaster

  • @Ln192 still doesn't mean it's terrible in their standards it's a average performance which is in their eyes pretty bad but i actually like it

  • They were very professional. However, Robert Plant gyrating his crotch in those azure spandex pants is making me feel a little bit sick. It isn't so much a song as some kind of invocation to god knows what deity. Too ugly for the pagan gods, there's too many bared chests for Jesus and it's too fruity for the devil.

  • Skinny Jimmy had to much phaser at the beginning. That's why he sounded out of tune ...

  • this is just out of its time......

  • @ledzeppelin4304 Its too much phaser

  • MOst amazing train on the verge of being out of control/// power pushed at it s max

self destructive yet on the verge of rebirth. the phoenix rises from its ashes...

how the word chemistry came about....WOW...

  • Love how everyone forgets JPJs finger surf on bass

  • This was filmed in the Kingdome in Seattle... the place was a giant echo chamber NO ONE sounded good in there and there weren't a lot of concerts that were done there either. I can really only remember a handful. Most arena shows in Seattle were held in the Coliseum (aka the Key Arena which is much smaller and much more accoustically pleasing) Thank God the Kingdome is gone now--the place was a dump from the moment it opened for business.

  • @Nitegale9 In this instance, it's also the fact that Page is brutally out of tune...

  • A bit of a mess.

  • Led Zeppelin Forever!

  • Im sorry but do people know anything about guitar effects.

    Its simple

Jimmy Page uses a phaser for this song.

For this performance he used too much phaser simple eh?

  • I like the fact it sounds out of tune, makes it even more epic

  • @raymondleeleggs Its too much phaser

  • Plant traded his regular pants for nearly neon ones?? of course it was 3 years shy of the 80's

  • Oh look, 22 Justin Bieber's fans don't like this video u.u

  • Bonzo, fucking killing it :) the best!!!

  • 22 guys are stupuids, thumps up

  • how can just one man play this song with just one guitar!!!! i love Jimmy Page in 77'....he was so crazy!!so much passion in his playing!

  • @MsFunny82 I wouldn't agree....In '77 he was heavy heroin addict, and it did effect his playing. If you listen to his guitar, it's really true.

  • It never ceases to amaze me; People can't just enjoy that this more than 30 year old footage exists of a truly influencial band despite all the drugs, sex and--wait for it--HUMILITY. All this dumb pissing and moaning and for what? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of it.

If you can't get over the fact that you did not write the music, that you did not spend night after night, hours at a time on stage PER night, country after country, year after year, tough shit.

    GROW THE FUCK UP!

  • @knoxunflower1 Totally agree. Why some dumbs always go over the drugs fact over and over...hey dumbs everybody knows what just happened on the 70s about drugs and all of that excess so please...just enjoy that these footages have survived 'till these days for us to enjoy and to learn...if you don't like this just check for some other videos...not Rock And Roll.

  • Good performance there is alot going on in this song

At 1:46-1:58 there is a Mistake he was suppose play that Two bars only

and not four times in as jpj goes along with it

  • @wsdasda Good ear

  • Why do people think he's out of tune

    He's using A phaser

  • Alo

  • 77 tour

  • I love the raw camera work. Camera not jumping around like in Song Remains... You can see the show as it was. Plus focus on guitar action is great.

  • i get chills listening to legends

  • Does anyone have a time machine handy? i could really use one anytime soon plzzzz

  • I love Zep and Page, but JImmy's guitar is out of tune as fuck on this performance. Makes this great song sound like shit.

  • Where the hell is John Paul Jones?!?! The fucking cameramen always leave him out!!!!!!

  • Great sassie molassie, that guitarist ain't half bad.

  • I have no idea why people rag on this concert...its amazing to me,i guess cause its different that makes it bad...silly people

Zeppelin will always remain the masters of music

  • @WildWestJack, go fuck youself. How dare you say that. Zeppelin is the best fucking band on the planet. Have a little sympathy for Plant. His 5 year old son died a few weeks after this concert you ignorant asshole.

  • I love this song, this band is fucking amazing, but this is crappy quality.

  • @LedZeppQueenBeatles It´s actually the recording. It seems this clips was recorded straight from the TV´s screen with the volume loud.

  • They were really good in the beginning, but these years, sounded horrible

    all were drug addicts

  • @jokkergar

    only Page was an addict.

  • oh shit, i can't even think about Jimmy Page being dead... i MUST see him live, on stage..

  • My favorite Led Zeppelin song from my favorite Led Zeppelin album, Presence.

  • i love this song its my favorite zep song but they really should have gotten another guitarist to handle the rhythms while page did the leads just my opinion.

  • @toxicoman1000 dood, page is amazing, beat his heroin addiction, made great music, and didn't get assassinated by a crazed fan!

  • One of their last American performances.

  • Ouch that sound is terrible.

  • este led zepelin es super metalico es adorable la forma de tocar de bonzo suena simplemente hermoso grato al oido de miles de formas.

  • I was at this show too, my first concert. No opening band, just Zep for 3+ hours. Light show was amazing in the Kingdome.

  • Someone tune this video, because it don't sound like the band are in tune!

I like Zep, but not all their performances were amazing. Plant sounds disinterested, Page is all over the place, and Bonham sounds like he's trying to adjust to help them out. Sorry, there are just times when bands I like were not at the top of their game, and this in my opinion is one of those examples.

  • @mahatmacote I know what u mean, zep is my fav, but i have heard horror stories about the sound at the kingdome, for many artists!! by the way it sounds like jpj is out tune?! P.

  • @MegaZephead

glad I'm not the only one hearing that. It's too easy for people to be nothing but effusive in praise of great bands, but the artists themselves must cringe sometimes and feel the worship is over the top. Cheers MZH

  • lol at planty`s daft slacks . rod stewart would n`t even style those fuckers !.

  • This song has my favorite Led Zeppelin Guitar Solo, and It's my favorite song too.

  • @frybreadman22 I agree..he'll never die!!!

  • PURE LEGEND..What an epic perfomance..so sloppy..so great!!

    Please one more last show!!

  • for crhist sake, was JPJ drunk?

  • wow, great playing

  • I saw the rest of Zep in 94 when I was in HS, it was a very cool experience for someone youngster who loved classic rock.

  • John Paul Jones, if only we saw a little more of you, your 8 string bass work on this song was so amazng!

To bad this was just weeks before Karac died. =(

  • @ tonyniggaful..........Robert Plant has screwed more women than the last three generations of your punk-assed family have met in their lifetimes

  • this is rock + 1

  • @Loewra827 your mama does.

  • me too

  • this song shouldn't work...especially the studio version... the scales and overdub harmonies make no musical sense...even jpj told page "this will never work"...but page being the musical wizard he is whipped out his musical shoehorn and not only made it fit....he made it amazing

  • jimmy page plays songs where he turns the pegs in the middle of them, and when he plays this live all the fucks ups are improv if you haven't noticed

  • Jesus Jimmy, tune your guitar. :(

  • @legunncat Jesus people that's called phaser!!!!

  • @WildWestJack yo just shut the fuck up who honestly cares about ur opinion, try singing for 12 years like Plant did and if ur voice still retains strength then ill believe ur dumbass

  • no matter how they play.....they are the best always

  • i dont know if i can pick a favorite album, but if i had to top 3 em id say...well shit i cant even top 3 em, they're all good.

  • man ,page, tune that shit.i still love ya.presence is still i'm favorite album

  • page is on drugs

  • 'Houses of the Holy', my favourite album of all time.

I'm aware this song is not on that album, and I do love this song in itself, but that album is amazing to me.

  • aftering being a zeppelin fan for so long i can almost predict when page is gonna switch pick ups to the point.

  • Great song ,but the opening there left something to be desired. After that it was awesome!!

  • intense as fuck, later Zeppelin kinda kicks early Zeppelin's ass.

  • @moreblack dude I was thinking the exact same thing. I love all zep. but theres something about Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti and Presence that are just top class. Even their latter concerts where drugs played a huge influence on performances, I give credit to playing for 3+ hours this intensely with so much going on. If anyone is a zep fan, check out the book When Giants Walked The Earth by Mick Wall published in 08'; extremely good book.

  • I was at this concert.

I paid $10 to see Led Zeppelin play their guts out for 3 hours and 20 minutes.

They didn't just play their songs, they attacked them.

    They were IT.

  • @Conan568

I envy you. No more needs to be said.

  • @Conan568 Do you have any idea how many people were there?

  • @GodChristLord

There were 62000 tickets sold, + some gate crashers.

I still have the newspaper clippings, but not my t-shirt or ticket stub.

  • @Conan568 lucky son of a bitch!

  • @ZakkHendrix666

Yeah I know, it was to be their last time in America.

  • @Conan568 Yeah, saw them 2x that year at MSG in NY. 2 of the best days of my life!

  • 16 people just had anal reconstructive surgery and are in a bad mood.

  • Is he playing on stilts?

  • I GOT AN EARGASM

  • @WildWestJack The only thing wrong with any of those albums is that Jonesy experimented with crapy synth sounds on a handful of songs, otherwise they are awesome in every way. Go back under your bridge troll.

  • @WildWestJack yea you're pretty much a total douche to rag on zeppelin like that all those albums are spectacular in their own way

  • @WildWestJack Are you fucking kidding me? Presence blows 99% of anything recorded since by any band right out of the water.

  • @tyroneblackman82 Absolutely! Presence does blow 99% of anything recorded since out of the water. It's my favorite album and Archilles is my favorite Zep song.

  • @WildWestJack If you think Zep albums are shit, if you produced music I'll have to cut off my ears you asshole

  • @FuIlTimeKiller rock pioneers either die young or VERY old and i wouldnt mind betting he'll live longer than les paul himself

  • @FuIlTimeKiller why you think about it?! :(

  • @MuseCasper Why not?

  • @FuIlTimeKiller he never dies, he lives in music

  • @FuIlTimeKiller maybe you die first

  • @FuIlTimeKiller mee too!!!!

  • @FuIlTimeKiller Won't we all...

  • @FuIlTimeKiller you mean IF Page dies! Long live the Zeppelin

  • @SoAPyiLLuSiONn666 IF Page CAN die O_o

  • @FuIlTimeKiller we all will, i already cried when i found out Bonham was dead(i was born in 92)

  • @FuIlTimeKiller He'll never gonna die

  • @FuIlTimeKiller

gonna be a sad day forsure

  • James Patrick Page, you are my hero.

  • 16 idiots likes justin bieber

  • Who's that chick on the drums?

  • I love the shot around 6:38 where JPJ comes into view behind Jimmy. There should be more shot of JPJ on any Zep concert vids.

  • Well Jimmys guitar is a bit too much out of tune for my taste - shame - love that song!

  • @misterbrand

Yeah, I know. Someone told me that before they would play this song... he would play like a 10 minute solo with the violin bow.

  • Insanely good.. Better than anything out there today. Only Bohnam's drums could command with Page's guitar. The Bass is sick although it gets very little credit. This concert was a tad before my time, but I saw Page perform Stairway to Heaven in 1983 with no vocals. Just his double neck. Unreal.

  • i thought it was just me, but page is so out of tune during the solo, not all the time of course, but still.

he should have stuck to the format of making epic minor licks and what not throughout the mid section.

  • True--Pagey is a bit flat, but what made Zep so great is that they all played through their mistakes, and somehow pulled themselves out of the hole--every time!

  • True--Pagey is a bit flat, but what made Zep so great is that they all played through their mistakes, and somehow pulled themselves out of the hole--every time!

  • well Page is a bit out of tune here, isn't he ?

  • they may or may not have done heroin before this performance

  • @Kashmir0109 JB's death was the end of Zep in 80. I wouldn't consider them having a "downfall" the end (if you can even call it that).

  • @TheJoshuaZone Led Zeppelin never had a downfall. They had a period where the band was just getting tired. So that is why they renewed themselves a little bit.= by Plant getting heavier on the vocal aspect of things. Bonham got a heavier sounding kit. John Paul Jones got a more raunchy bass. Jimmy Page started winging off the Smack and drink. If they would have continued on, Led Zeppelinw ould still be dominating to this day. But even though they are no more, they still hold the Official #1rank

  • From1:36 to 1:45 is truly a magical moment!

  • Seizure at 7:14

  • i wish i could play that good when i'm high

  • Page is clearly smacked out of his brain.Tragic really. An era that he would rather (and has) glossed over.

  • @hedgewitch100 Idoubt it!

  • Page High and out of tune is still mind blowing. It didnt hurt that he had the best rhythm section ever . Jones and Bonham created a beautiful pocket to play on top of.

  • See when I have kids I want Zeppelin and The Beatles to be the first music they listen to so they don't go and listen to rap or any of this bull shit that people of my generation call music.

  • tune the guitar jimmy

traduccion: afina la guitarra hijo de puta!!

  • @giorse23 hahahaha ahuevo ke si.

mucha eroina lo desmadro al wey.

  • @giorse23 That's the fucking phaser!!! He was in tune!

  • @giorse23 desafinda o afinada no importa, lo importante es como toca

  • tune the guitar jimmy

  • Probably some very talented very young people in the crowd that night: Cornell, Cantrell, etc. All very young in '77, but I'll bet at least few from Seattle's future music scene were there.

  • @rainmanx63 I agree, I think the whole grunge movement began at this show

  • there are so many things i will never understand...

maybe i have ears made of stone...

  • Led Zeppelin: Your ear's dessert, it's like the first thing you wanna hear.

Led Zeppelin with Jimmy Page high: Your ear's backup dessert, if the first choice bores you, this is your backup.

Even with Page high they sounded good, but not as good as they were in 68 - 75.

  • page is cool when he's high

  • I challenge a modern guitarist to play as well as Page does here with a guitar out of tune, or to have as much fun as he does while up there

  • Ah yes, Zep at the dome July 1977... a good concert played at the worst concert venue known to man. Two words can sum up the general atmosphere of the crowd at this show.... general mayhem!

  • @Snowdog276 why don't thay release these 1977 show on DVD and Blue Ray remastered and remixed?

  • @celticsarebest in 2003 i think they considered using some 77 footage, either from this show our the 2 other filmed ones, but no multitracks exist

  • The Zep were in full command in the year which supposedly signalled a changing of the guard...

  • Gotta have some Led Zeppelin....Awesome preformance.

  • One of the killer Zep tunes, but Page is waaay outta tune!

  • @chrook The whole concert was out of tune... it was in the Kingdome. Every concert in the Kingdome was out of tune.

July 17 1977 was one long fun day & night though!

  • @Snowdog276

I had tickets for the Aug 6th show in Buffalo, but due to the tragedy in Plant's family, it was canceled. Never saw them....

  • @r4wmaterial what?

  • das troo, ........aint dat d'troot.
