I see the comments, and it make me so sad and so angry at the same time... Problems arised with deployment 1.4. Before that, it had a rare equilibrium of fun, so casuals and hardcore players could have equal fun. Then 1.4 came, and it became a WoW clone Transposed in Scifi. Then afterward, too many attempts to retrieve the situation (modifying the levleing curve) and some promises that came way to late signed the doom on this game. So In very short: bad management.

Yea, this was a pretty good game, it had a lot of problems, but the team was just fantastic. Unfortunately Richard Garriot made a deal with the devil when he picked NCSoft as a publisher. If they had published this with anyone else it would most likely still be around, or at least there would be free servers.

Cryptic had the right idea when they ditched NCSoft, too bad Desination Games didn't catch on to that before this whole debakel.

The frustrating thing is, I'm pretty sure that Tabula Rasa is classified as abandonware now, and in 2006 the Digital Millenium Copyright Act was altered to allow preservation and archiving of abandonware ...

I bought the collector's box for 5€ and when i came home i saw the game closed xD. I was kinda sad, not for the money or anything, but because during like 2 months last year i thought about nothing else but try this game. It looked so promising. I'm getting so tired of classical MMORPGS... And this touch of foreign worlds/sci fi in the game could make it legendairy. I guess people are too busy played L2, runescape and WoW so the server closed.

I played this for a while last year. Never really got to grips with it but it was good. Shame about the servers getting shut down, I was considering starting playing again just the other week when I heard about that.

Mizar007, you haven't heard about Richard Garriot's lawsuit on NCSoft, have you?

According to the lawsuit, NCSoft forced him out of the company while he was in space. That statement about Garriott "moving on to try new things" was apparently not even written by him.

So if you ask me, it's looking more like NCSoft is the douche here. I suppose we'll find out when the lawsuit trial gets underway.

This man speaks the truth. It wasn't either one Richard or NCsofts fault, they were both liable for the death of this mmo.

Hopefully the developers who made the game will provide the tools so we can make our own player run servers.

Too bad, anyone knows anything about a single player patch? I heard a rumor NcSoft is handing out the data for the servers or something. So people can start their own servers. Might be a proper solution :D
