  • i cannot thank you enough!!! i understand it soo much more!! your a great teacher :)

  • Nevermind.

  • 1/2 + 1 doesn't equal 1... Other than that, big help.

  • where does the negative three come into play?

  • Thank you very much. Didn't have any problems with transformations in Trig but for some reason my Pre-Calc instructor messed up my way of thinking so this video helped me get back on the right track. Again, thanks...

  • Dude thank you so much for saving my life.

  • thank you sooooo much, i feel ok now, knowing that you are here :))

  • @pateto2007i am always here, 24/7

  • You should word problems. It will help students alot :)

  • hanza93'a comment asking about gcse -I was curious as to what in the heck they were talking about- it stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. It sounds to be more of an international education system thing with a different grading system and guidlines.

  • lol cool thanks for the videos great like all your other videos too helped me alot because i tend to not be able to focus in class or just too tired (btw this is Grade 11 Math in Canada Eh!)

  • Why does 2x-2 become 2(x-1) in the very beginning? Why couldn't the horizontal shift be x-2?

  • I think it's because of the distributive factor. If you distribute the 2 to the x, it becomes 2x-1. Also, the parentheses are REALLY important. What is in the parentheses overrules what would be there without the use of parentheses. Doesn't make sense, I know, but there you have it. @savetheunstable

  • do you have one JUST like this but a lil more basic numbers??? like my worksheet asks ."What transformation maps the graph of y=1/x onto the graph of y=9+1/1-x?" i need help please!!!!!!

  • This is awesome!!!!! You think you could use this stuff in word problems too?

  • Dude I can't thank you enough! Just know I really appreciate what you're doing! Thanks!

  • Is this GCSE lvl???

  • @hanza93 i really have no idea what that is

  • Hi Patric! So if the coefficient of x is =3, is the graph going to stretch by a factor of 1/3? Is it due to the fact that the coeficient of x is Yunits/X units where y=1, and x=3?

  • can u do some reciprocal transformation?

    thanks

  • at the last seconds he said move the graph down 1 unit, but it is 3 units. watch out.

  • ... isnt (1/2) + 1 = (3/2) ? or 1.5?

  • Hi, can you please explain how and when you factor out the value in front of the x? That's the one thing I'm confused about.. Thanks a lot PatrickJMT! Your videos rock :)

  • your awesome.. ive got a rewrite tomorrow.. wish me luck

  • Still don't get why you distributed the X (for 2X) but you didn't distributed it to the -1...

  • 4:04

  • I think I might have passed with flying colors had you been my teacher back when...

  • so awsum. why cant u b my teachr

  • step by step!

    awesome, thank you!

  • Awesome. I am ready for my test now.

  • its 1.5 not 1!!!!!!

  • No it isn't. He moved over the origin rather than the point (1/2,1) .

  • i have a huge problem with this math equation, how do u graph with x mb and y mb. i have a equation like this

    y = 3/4 [ -2/5(x+5)]^3 + 1 Please help!!

  • FINALLLLYYYY i get it !!! thanks a bundle :)

  • yaaaay! this stuff is actually fairly confusing to a lot of people (myself included at one point!) so just give it a bit of time and it will all soak in! : )

  • ty u so much now i get it.

  • excellent!

  • still you draw better then my math teather

  • I just noticed that you're left handed, me too! thanks for the video

  • lefties rock! : )

  • paul mccartney is a left hand .. im a left ahnd too! leftie pride!
