NES came closest to this original game but the sounds were off. They used the same sound when you grabbed the hearts, music notes and letters. The original game has seperate sounds for each item. Also Bluto is not as aggressive on NES, he doesn't reach down after you. I still love this game!!!

@SeventhSun There is an old school arcade near my apt called flashbacks, it's covered in 80s posters plays awesome 80s music and has at least one hundred classic games, each one only costs a quarter and the change girl is decked out in 80s fashion trend. The place is packed everynight.

popeye was made by miyamoto... when nintendo lost the rights to popeye they cancelled the sequel and made miyamoto made donkey kong instead.
