  • Hey go read my comments on his channel.

Enable friend lock woowwwww. I'd fuck you like the piece of useless shit that you are anyway.

  • is this video some kind of joke? anyone can play through the first 3 stages without dying. The real game begins after the first 3 round loop. Someone has a world record for over 3 million points on this game. Thumbs down because this video is weak as hell.

  • @dotdotdash2

Is your mother some kind of a joke? Anyone, including fucks like you? I don't think many people including you actually has this capability. Your anus face and garbage abilities are weaker than shit, so suck my cock and go fuck yourself.

  • @dotdotdash2

You and anyone HAHAHAHA don't make me laugh.

  • @dotdotdash2

Can't play fighting and retro games, can't make it in life as low-ability garbage = cry and troll like a dog on my video and channel

Serious dotdotdash2 you fucking old geeky nerd, just go fuck yourself. You? Pffft rubbish.

  • Wow - reminds me of my holiday to Disney World in 1985!!! Sank a few quarters into this and the Dig Dug machines......... :)

  • Bravo! Well played! Thanks for uploading.

  • Bluto : Shoryuken... Shoryuken..!!

  • the graphics are very impressive, the cartoon quality is great. Not even the nes version can match this on the technical level, but the nes port is still the best :).

  • @123stephenno

Why do you say the Nintendo port is still the best? Probably because that's the only version you played.

  • @SeventhSun What I am trying to say is that the NES port is still the best HOME version. The arcade version is still the best version. They have one in the 7/11 down my street.

  • that title screen was impressive for 1982

  • @xiaochicash

Yeah it's retro nice for today too and it's all good. The game is a money grubber too.

  • 0:02 "HAM" is in 3rd place xD

  • I want to know does the game have a end, like a screw up like pac man? can only go so far?

  • @COINSLOTPORN

    Nah that's you.

Spare me the sour grapes anus face.

  • NES came closest to this original game but the sounds were off. They used the same sound when you grabbed the hearts, music notes and letters. The original game has seperate sounds for each item. Also Bluto is not as aggressive on NES, he doesn't reach down after you. I still love this game!!!

  • bluto plays a better foe than donkey kong

  • This game was tough, always wondered if you could actually beat it, back when I was a kid. Now I see though, it was all about a high score.

  • the last stage was fuckin insane. there were so many close calls but you did it. good job sir

  • @darkryu38

    Thank you!

  • @OhhFoolish1

    lol anus face.

  • Vintage 80's arcade material here. This video brings back some memories.

    btw, You're pretty damn good.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I used to love this game! Good job :D

  • Always liked the Popeye game! I thought the way they included so many of the characters - Sea Hag, Wimpy, etc. - was very creative.

  • @jksonny

Yup, quite. That should be the way popular cartoons and comics should be translated into video games - involving the supporting cast as much as possible.

  • @SeventhSun You could say it was the Batman: Arkham Asylum of its day:-)

  • @SeventhSun on Atari 2600 Olive trows X's in the second round

  • @luxurious297

Popeye's a cool vegan, and Mario is quite like him too.

  • @SeventhSun He's not a vegan, Popeye's no homo.

  • @MrGrevy

Are vegans homo? ?? Hmm, didn't realise that from ignorant carnivores.

  • @SeventhSun The worse kind of homos, too. Holier than thou ones.

  • @joiles01

Hmm, not all vegans are like that I guess. If they are exclusively then they're ruining the name.

  • Ok, now just put yourself in my shoes for JUST a second ... I remeber this game in the arcade...(yes the good ol days of getting allowence and totally BLOWING at an arcade) but when I saw the 0:08 and the music with it.. I fell out of my chair .. its the same as I remember...

  • @ShauKenshin

It's like a friendly jolt when something you once acquainted yourself with a long time ago makes a reappearance from out of the blue.

  • Things of nostalgia, but not your old girls because usually when one or more of them comes back other than the obvious fact that they misjudged you before it is usually one or more of the following:

    1) She got used and dumped by another guy (eew a dirty prostitute)

    2) She wants to borrow money from you (a city parasite)

    3) She is jealous that you decided to leave her for an actually prettier and better girl and now wants to stir shit up like the slut that she is (a real bitch loser)

  • @ShauKenshin You've led a full life

  • @MrGrevy

    Ouuuuuch.. dude .. thats harsh!!

  • @ShauKenshin

That's what you deserve. Good for you.

  • Most people don't know this but this was the first packin' title for the japanese release of the nes/famicom back in 83 when it debuted in Japan.

  • Whys yous gossa cheatify at this here game, ole son? Plopeye is gonna beat you down. Beat yous down to Chinamantown!

  • @bocheek1

Haha cheat? Come again? Maybe you and your father, you ugly and unskilled anus face ghetto dump. But stop being jealous and learn to play honestly, thanks.

I will watch Popeye beat you down cold, before the second round by the people in Chinatown. No egg rolls for you, only beating and manfisting.

Cos you're fugly and untalented and you need cheats to survive.

  • Seventh 7, i used to love this game as a kid, the local pizza joint had it. I used to get all excited when i'd eat the spinach and knock out bluto lol. can you believe this game is 28 years old!

  • @Surfer041

Yeah. How time flies. Arcade games by Nintendo in the 80s had always been pretty interesting. It's just too bad that they ended their contribution to the scene thereafter.

  • @SeventhSun There is an old school arcade near my apt called flashbacks, it's covered in 80s posters plays awesome 80s music and has at least one hundred classic games, each one only costs a quarter and the change girl is decked out in 80s fashion trend. The place is packed everynight.

  • MAN THiS WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I had was flashbacks of a good child/teen hood days! I luved this game I still have my Atari/Nintendo But not this game as far as I know. THis just put a big grin on my face. I miss the 80's! THanx for the vid. :)

  • @AMOVIEROOM

No problem. Those were the good and special times though I was too young then to fully experience them. How are you getting along now? Take care.

  • Awesome stuff.

  • This was one of my favorite games. I wish I could find this game but I can't anywhere, miss it:(

  • popeye was made by miyamoto... when nintendo lost the rights to popeye they cancelled the sequel and made miyamoto made donkey kong instead.

  • @shaolindave00

And that was a success that carried forth in a huge leap to the mid-90s with Donkey Kong Country made by Rare in the States - the company that gave sadistic games like the Battletoads series. And they are coming out with another huge leap through time again with Donkey Kong Country Returns, but this time it is handled by Retro Studios.

  • I used to play this game when i was a kid!!!!!

    Thanks for the video.

    Ciao :)

  • used to play this on atari 2600 and c64 as a kid...

now play it on mame...and the game still looks, sounds and plays brilliant!!!

  • My uncle used to have this game in his arcade but I wasn't interested. The irony.

Now I am shopping for the arcade manual to commemorate this game.

  • top 10

  • was playing this game for NES for a long time

  • Really nice graphics for the time, I love this oldie..

  • 名作!!

  • @sakamokkun

  • fun game

  • Very good I love popeye. Muy bien, me encanta popeye, aun hoy en dia.

  • Thank you!!! One of my all time Faves!!

  • the nes version is horrible the arcade version is coool

  • Awesome! Did ya beat the game?

  • Excellent play!

  • Really does bring back GREAT memories...a REAL classic!

    Right on, SeventhSun!!

    Thanks so much, dude!

  • No problem man!

  • In the first stage with the right timing you can

cause a bucket to fall on Bluto's head.

  • omg, i remember doing that. and as for this game, the first stage is parodied in Yo Gabba Gabba (not that i watch it)

  • well done!

  • omfg.. i remember this but on colecovision :)

    this game literally rocked!!

  • Once again, you did a great job, SeventhSun. Toot-Toot!

  • Awesome. Classic game.
