check the junk yards, no luck. closest i got was one for the a 88 Prelude but it cant work completely different setup... the guy gave me some tip so I am now building it my self i post some pic soon cus. it almost finished
Just bought one from i guy that had it in his garage for 5 years, it sound really good when it starts, fully power but i may have to clean the radiator, change 3 bad leaky hose, get the door rubber and replace all the belts before i do any 'long' drive in it...
Dowes any one know where i can get a Upper Front Strut Bar?
My 89 accord was a WONDERFUL car until an old man pulled in front of me while I was going 65 miles per hour and I t-boned him and my car was ruined beyond repair.
I had an Accord the same as yours. Mine was blue though. Whenever I started it, I'd have to keep it at 2,000 rpm for like 30 seconds so it wouldn't die. It was a great car. I got it for $1,000 from some guy whose mom died. I guess she took really good care of the car. I no longer have the car becausae my sister wrecked it. Dumb bitch. Now, I have a Honda Element
@TheGizmo4382 I bought this one from my sister for $500. She hit a deer and wrecked it, so i bought it from her and fixed it. It was a perfect car, other than it not wanting to start. Sorry to hear she wrecked it. That would piss me off.
@a7x5631 That sucks. I'm sorry to hear, and I'm not sure why girls seem to wreck these cars. They are really nice, and I would own another one if I could.
@6453103 to turn off your beeping unplug the silver / gray box undernead the dash, directly under your ashtray / stereo.. it will trun off all beeping tho including your light beeper, door beeper, and seathbelt. :)
That's a clean lookin engine, replace your grounds with some thicker gauge wires and even add 1 or 2 more you'll see a big difference in throttle response and power. I got an 86' lxi best car I ever and probably will ever own....I'm driving mine till the wheels fall off!
@ahsure Yes, it was a very nice car. I had to sell it though. I called around and the guy who has it has put 25000 on it already. It's still running strong, he says. It was a big mistake to get rid of it. It needed a tune up, for sure.
what does it mean when i hear a loud screaching sound when i start my 89 accord?its hella annoying i was trying to figure it out it never used to do that but recently just started anyone know?
i got a honda accord same one with 83k miles on it for 200$ it was broken but it only needed a new carbuerator and a little muffler fix. Runs like its brand new
yeah but im not sure as to what it's function is. i guess to hold them in, but i dont see them flying out, unless you go backwards at 100 mph and stop. idk what it's for.
haha i would always have to drive with one hand. either that, or if it was a bottle, i would put it down in that Cassette holder thingy under the radio.
i mean everything is designed so well around the driver not like todays cars with all their fancy new gadgets hell mine doesn't even have cup holders lmao
well its kinda hard not to if it's not starting. I bought mine for $1,900, however it was in perfect working condition. But after I let my sister use it, things started to go wrong. She hit a deer, so I had to fix it. It wasn't that hard to fix, I just replaced the fender, hood, and headlight. And I found all of it at a junk yard for about 100 bucks total.
It did sit for well over a year i am sure, because I have found signs of things on it where it points out that it has sat. Like the windshield wiper sprayers all the tubes are dried out and melted together which is weird. there is paint fading only on the trunk and water has seeped into the trunk and created a hole. and when i bought it it took forever to get started.
I had to replace the wiper tubes. Mine were so dried out that they cracked. That's normal for an old car. And there must be a leak for water to get into the trunk. How much did you buy it for?
mine has its moments, and i actually looked most of the parts up for the car and they really aren't that expensive at all. I think its because its older. When it comes to starting it, After one or two times more i can always get it started.
It's usually the labor that they charge. If you can do it yourself, then that's a plus. But most people can't do it themselves. And yes, the age does have something to do with it, I'm sure.
well I agree and disagree. there could be something that is messed up in response to you not getting it fixed. however ,a fuel pump is not very cheap. so its really up to you. I waited. it only did it to me every once in a while though.
yeah its kind of crazy, i have been having this issue always starting it, if it doesn't start the first time i turn the key, i have to turn it on aux. power and then shut if off then start it to prime the fuel pump

@longlove4u You're probably going to have to look in a junk yard, or search the web. I'm sure you can find one online somewhere.

@mtfune That sucks to hear. At least you were okay. Even though there were no air bags in these cars, they still kept you safe.

mine only has 74k miles on it
Zarckas 2 years ago
Wow, it must have been barely driven. My sister used it a lot, so that's why it has so many miles on it.
6453103 2 years ago
is it ordinary to idle at 1500 r.p.m???
biglukerocks1012 2 years ago
it normally idles at 1000, but it had been sitting there without being driven, so it does that for about a minute, and then falls to 1000.
