  • When are you going to correct the information on the video? This is not a Thin Lizzy, as many have pointed out. It's a traditional Irish song. If you're going to post something, the least you can do is research the song to make sure the info. is correct.

  • good enought but not pElvis

  • shagytube -HiHi!! :D I'm glad you stand up for your favorite! I say to each their own, sweety! At least you like the second best version of this song,..rather than this one! HeeHee!! (remember,we each like different versions of the same song.) Metallica's version is great too,and they bring this song to new people all the time.I just like Phil Lynott's voice, and Thin Lizzy way of setting the song up.

  • Would be funny if Elvis did really sang it way back when.

  • ma stiamo scherzando elvis è inimitabile non diciamo stupidaggini

  • How do I get a copy of this? Love it!

  • Oh Lord,NOOOOO!! The singing is ok,but just NOT THIS SONG!! PLEEEEZE!!!! AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Only Thin Lizzy can do this song justice.I know they didnt do it first,no one knows who did,but their version is best1 EEEEEEEEEKKK!!! (Sorry, but my ears cant equate)

  • @ChimeraAZ Metallica wins!

  • sounds like the King........but it AIN'T

  • Loved it!!!!!!!!

  • not bad but the king he is not the king is dead long live the king

  • ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. iT'S REALLY GOOD..

  • @Joyce3440 Loved it

  • I'll be damned, it IS elvis!

  • I can´t believe, but ... IT´S GOOD!!!!! HAUHAUAHUAHUAHAUH I really liked!

  • Jim Brown is the best elvis out there. Even better than the 70's elvis.

  • i got to meet elvis once. and he can't give a blowjob to save his life, but at least he swallowed.

  • A cover of a cover of a cover.

  • I like this cover.

  • Elvis Presley?

    Nope, Chuck Testa

  • very good \m/

  • boring and no feelng like the songs he wrote himself

  • I've Seen Bad Elvis Impersonators, Some that are Good and I seen the Real Deal(Elvis Playing at the Forum in LA). Jim Brown is an Original Not Covering Elvis Songs. But Doing Coverings of Classic Rock Songs in the style of Elvis. It is Wrong To Post Jim "The King" Brown as Elvis. He is a Elvis Impersonator if Elvis Was Still Alive doing Coverings in the 1990s and 2000s

  • You can't deny it, though...he sounds pretty good..video or no video. I like this!!

  • false

  • Imposter Elvis sings an Irish song........

who ever posted this sucks testicles for a living. not only can this guy not live on his own merits. He misleads people to view the videos... I count for a view based clicking a link but viewing 5 seconds and getting pissed off is not actually watching a video

  • @redleg15 / I fully agree!!! what a disappoinment!!!!

  • @zoedaria your a fag

  • what da fuuuck!

  • WTF YOU WILL NEVER BE THE KING!!!!! BITCH

  • at first i was like, this is shit. But then i'm like, hell ya! I may be crazy. I know i am but I'm pretty sure that COUNTRY COVER chic has the worst version of this song.

  • Can someone explain what`s going on or what I have just heard, please????

  • toung my ass fuckers

  • this is the worst version of this song i've ever heard. Dont studio muscians have any dignity is just about the cash.......

  • elvis would not do such a thing pretty found and good singing but leave it in paece maybe try it as a gospel??greetz keep on goin

  • good

  • The King’s own story is as steeped in potential legend as the good lord Elvis himself. Born in the rough end of Belfast, married with five lovely children, the young King never even considered singing an option until he was reluctantly hauled on stage at a works karaoke.........etc

  • @sandinista112 potential legend? Don't make me laugh! Sure, people like an impressionist, (and he's not that bad) but if all the man is going to do is to try to walk in the shoes of a giant, he's going to get ridiculed, and slapped down like a 2 dollar whore all the time. If he truly is a new "legend" then he should try to stand alone, Oh, and truly, who cares how many kids he has? I think that relates to a talent OTHER than singing.. He's not the King.. never will be

  • @theponyisgreat he just proved that it is not hard to sing like Elvis! btw King Richard is real King!!

  • Wait! This guy's IRISH and attributing the song to Thin Lizzy?!?!?!? Not cool. Not cool in the slightest.

  • @dennismarkam he doesnt he just says witch of the versions of the song Elvis covered because the liric is the Thin lizzy one! not the Dubliners Lyric or the Grateful Dead's Lyric....

  • Yes, I'm very happy to hear this cover with an amazing voice and band !!! ☺ ☻ ☺

  • thin lizzy classic....... lol

  • This is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

  • This song as a song may be as old as 300 years old!! Based on a broadsheet from 1600's. Read Wikipedia's history of Whiskey in a Jar"

  • im a big elvis fan and this guy sounds good

  • to all the wanker that say this is shite lets here you fukin sing it better if you dont like it dont comment im sure the person who put it up dont need your crapy words

  • Thin Lizzy made this famous,.not even tMetallica did it perfectly.BUT,..ANYTHING is better than this!!!

  • wow how gay this is by the irish rovers

  • god the fuckin morons on here.the album is called 'gravelands' and he's covering songs by dead people.it's all tongue in cheek ya wankers.

  • Gotta listen to some real Elvis now.

  • Fuck this guy!!!! I'm from America, FUCK THIS GUY!!!!! Thin Lizzy covered it too.

  • Sounds GREAT!

  • disgraceful to both Elvis and all Irishmen EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

  • Lolz@trollz

  • @Lujed CHOP XCHOP

  • Its an Iearlandish tune. Im sorry!

  • Jonny Bravo " Hey Ladies "

  • @rickd786 give me a dollar!

  • Loads of Laughs - WTF is yer man JG

  • Step right up folks and Listen to Celtic Thunder version of Whiskey in the Jar, then just say you dont like it...go ahead then tell me you dont.

  • The singing work was great but the song was like a cheesed down Metallica version who suck harder than anything, except for the fiddle part which was ok.

  • what a joke go to hell jim brown and he dose not sound like that u taking the piss out of the king

  • First time I have heard of Jim Brown and he is a fine Elvis tribute singer. Really like his version of this classic tune and it's good for us Elvis fans to get an idea how Elvis might have tackled this. IMPRESSIVE.

  • are you brain dead it says this is my favourite song from an elvis tribute artist his name is jim brown

  • This is not Elvis!!!!!!!!!

  • for all the people who wrote about this singer ,do not understand about music..

why is this simply the best singer..and.. fuck all the opinions..you guys are losers..

who never go to your bealtiful voice.. fuck you allllllllllll...

  • @ReinarHenriksson I agree with you. Don't think this is Elvis.

  • elvis,,,fucking shite !!!

  • No Doug Church not in same breathe

  • this song is a tradion, no knows who wrote it was just passed down each generation

  • @Mrchugchug3 i love when ppl r right ;) the song was also sold to a band i think it was mettalica(i know they sing it but im not sure its them who got but any way)do u live in Ireland?

  • @Mrchugchug3 The Dubliners

  • @xXDaFtxZoMbIeXx It goes back way before The Dubliners

  • The song's exact origins are unknown. A number of its lines and the general plot resemble those of a contemporary broadside ballad "Patrick Fleming" (also called "Patrick Flemmen he was a Valiant Soldier") about an Irish highwayman executed in 1650.

  • This song is way older than Thin Lizzie.

  • This song is way older that Thin Lizzie.

  • definitely more johnny bravo than elvis, sorry mate

  • poor Elvis ...

  • Probably just as bad as Elvis would have had delivered it himself - there is only one king who can sing this and we all know who that is

  • @SPAREPARTSCENTRE jerry garcia

  • but it is a nice arrangement he made!

  • Jim Brown? WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?

  • Blimey he sounds like Elvis

  • @yardog59 How True but actually it's GRATE-ful Dead

  • Comment removed

  • You're not Elvis, you are a lying c*unt.

  • dude.... this is a super old irish drinking song.... the only covers that are close to the actual song are by the greatful dead, or the dubliners... metallicas version sounds cool but they fucked the lyrics beyond the point of repair.... elvis should have just stuck to what he was good at... heroin....

  • I Really Liked This One...He Did A Grate Job!

  • who the fuck is this looser to call himself '' the King'' ? ther's only one true King!! this loser sonds like Johnny Bravo

  • @MrBobdinlan

Man you should get yourself sorted out...Jim Brown is just paying homage to...The KIng...plain & simple...

Keep up the GREAT work Jim....

  • @MrBobdinlan who the fuck is this looser

    Its spelled loser.

  • @MrBobdinlan And you have some problems with your ears. hi sounds like Elvis. stop looking at cartoons and listen mor to music then you will hear when someone have a great voice.

  • @MrBobdinlan King = Michael Jackson. :D

  • @MrBobdinlan this was a papaws fav singer and my papaw died 2008 i love this man he is the best so please stop making fun of him everytime i hear elvis i cry

  • @MrBobdinlan he was the king of his own time and johnny bravo is the man

  • That was entertaining. It wasn't John Wayne but everyone knows true grit wasn't about John Wayne......Right?

  • This is way fuckin' better then Thin Lizzy version, more understandable then Metallica. But still not as good as the Dubliners early years version, ( they sound senile in the newer recordings).

  • @Albinoafroman316

This doesn't touch Thin Lizzy's or Metallica's version. This plain sucks.

  • @DeathMagneticRemastr It's stilll good lol :)

  • I thought this was a cool version of a great old Thin Lizzy tune. Knockers...get a life!

  • I really liked this, thanks.

  • i like it, i find it relaxing

  • Feck , a what a butchery !!!

  • Booooo

  • This Elvis/Jim Brown rendition of a good solid ditty followed by '200-yr old poem vs Dubliners vs Thin Lizzy et al. debate' and 'Metallic/Dubliners/Grateful Dead/Thin Lizzy/etc. did the best version' make this a most entertaining link :)

  • This song belongs on the same album that has Leonard Nimoy singing the Bilbo Baggins song ... lmao

  • @ProfessorZaroff ROTHFLMFAO !!! OMG with Scotty doing Backup vocals?

  • Fantastic job!

  • He ruined this song.

  • the dubliners first played this song on record....

    so you are both fools....

  • RIP Gary Moore, gone to meet Elvis in Rock N' Roll Heaven.

  • if ya say it is a brae bricht moonlicht nicht.

    well, then ya can

  • This is a Celtic Drinking song covered by several artists, such as Avenged Sevenfold, Thin Lizzy, most recently, Metallica, and many others

  • lame

  • he looks like charlie sheen on that picture

  • QUIT puting yourself as " Elvis Sings "

You are living in a dead mans shadow,, how sad for you. GET A LIFE OF YOUR OWN !

I almost wish you WOULD come to my town.

haha, A slingshot would be a must at your show !

  • i just don't get these loosers this guy is awsome.

  • I believe you to be the reincarnation of Elvis and all the other legends that have passed. You are the Chosen One.

  • I am a Jazz bassist, but this guy playing bass is just too busy; he needs to lay back a little!

  • @kc8ntp

Ok one opinion, I have been both jazz and rock and I think the bass is cool in this case. Sometimes it's good to have flare and feature a little bass. But I am more of a rocker so I can be biased. Jerry Scheff one Elvis bass players was busy check out the 69 elvis concerts. Les Claypool comes to mind from Primus who plays alot o bass.

Jazz bass does kick as and is smooth as well

  • This is great, nice one!

  • wow i dont like to insult people, but your a goof.

  • Whiskey in the jar wasn't Thin Lizzy's Classic anything broski. It's an old Irish folk song. and tbh The Dubliners do the best cover of it, with Metallica coming in 2nd ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Well since you wanted a comment here it is

    Penis

  • Great Job it would have been better if he had James Burton on guitar

  • Can't feel this as an honest Irish. Like Elvis when he sings teddybear but he should leave this song alone. Cheers

  • How is this cunt, to call himself the King.

  • Ummm.... You are a dumbshit. This isn't Elvis, it's An Elvis tribute so why label it as Elvis? Also it's not " the Thin Lizzy classic" it's a classic Irish poem that thin lizzy took, changed words for no reason and butchered.

  • that´s the best version

  • I much prefer Ronan Keating's and Celtic Thunder's versions.

  • very good, damm good;-)

  • oh hell naw this som gay shit the fuckin man brought down upon us to fuckin kill us slowly from the inside. this comin from a pro-life abortionist.

  • It's gotten to be an international song. I learned it first by the Irish Rovers-- who were/are Canadian.

  • At least this guy has the balls to sing! Unlike the ones that tend to criticize people that perform.Closed minded people that stay with a single genre need to be open for more experiences, really!

  • I preffers Thin Lizzy version, but this is not that bad ;)

  • @damero1982 Metallica's the Best..

  • @jasonmildward34 duh metalica will always win did you know chuck norris writes there songs <_< lol rofl cakes

  • A truly awful rendition.

  • that was great plez do more irish songs i wood love to hear more ;)

  • that was great

  • this isnt elvis wtf!!!!

  • @bluzer1 you're kidding me? :o :')

  • Absolutely nobody else can destroy a really good song like Elvis can. It almost sounds like disco, the worst musical invention ever. Even if it's just an impersonator.

  • Absolutely nobody else can destroy a really good song like Elvis can. It almost sounds like disco, the worst musical invention ever,

  • The Dubliners > other versions

  • So Lucy. Explain please...just how does Elvis do a cover of a song done by a group that sang it 20 years after his death?

  • pafrickinthetic

  • thin lizzy metalliaca you all know shit its a 200 year old song

  • niiiiiiiice.. i love it!!!!!!

  • I heard this song performed by Seven Nations in Kentucky about 20 years ago. I even bought a CD of Seven Nations that included this song. So when I saw Elvis sings Whiskey in the Jar, I had to check it out. When I found out that "Elvis" was an Irish Elvis impersonator, I nearly gave up on it. But I decided to give it a listen and am I glad! Jim Brown is pretty good. Too bad he is not so well known. Maybe YouTube can change that.

  • Holy Hell thats brilliant, just freakin brilliant

  • This is an outstanding cover of WITJ. There have been many great bands that covered this old folk song over the last 40 years that I remember, but my personal favorite version was The Grateful Dead

  • *******NEWS FLASH, DIPSHIT~~~~~~~~This is NOT Thin Lizzy's song

  • @gtz1975

ofcourse not, this is traditional irish song ;o)

  • @gtz1975 Actually this is their version, similar to Metallica's cover they did for Garbage Inc, a tribute to Thin Lizzy. Lyrically its what Thin Lizzy sung.

  • @stevehenri Exactly steve. It first surfaced when the Irish started drinking and fighting.

  • @gtz1975 **********************NEWS FLASH, DEEPSHIT------------------ it IS Thin Lizzy that did sing that song first.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT??! if you look closely at the name of this video, you see the name is:

"Elvis sings Whiskey in The Jar"

    and then the note:

"Elvis sings a cover of..." surprise!

  • @edkjeldsen hey fuckwad, Whiskey in The Jar is an old Irish folk song looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong B-4 Thin Lizzy was BORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gtz1975 The arrangements for the electric guitar(s), drums and bass might just be.

  • @gtz1975 thin lizzie and metallca both done a cover of the dubliners they rote the song not thin lizzy >(

  • @truckermad2k9 technically it is an old folk song

  • @lockbreak12 yes

  • @truckermad2k9

Actually the Dubliners made the song popular, but it's a traditional Irish folk song. They didn't write it. Having said that, this "Elvis" guy's a joke.

  • @truckermad2k9 the dubliners didnt write it either nobody really knows who wrote it. The dubliners was just another cover of the song like thin lizzy's was so the dubliers version is no more of an original than thin lizzy's was ;)

  • not bad at all. great song, whether it's performed by lizzy, metallica or irish folk singers.

  • thin lizzy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is reeeeeaally different, but I actually like it. And the actual musical skills here are first class. Gonna listen to some more of this. Thanks for sharing.

  • This version fucking sucks!

  • this song sucks! metallica rocks \m/

  • would pp ere plz plz shut the hell up about mettalicca. No matter who sings this IRISH song. Ther name keeps on coming up.the just did a cover. And it wasent tat good.
