Though Andy Irvine is a fine musician, I would be hesitant to disregard the performance of another musician without having heard it. Certainly, there is the possibility that the young lady is not just a "daddy's little girl," but is instead making an objective statement of her opinion.
it's on the new mozaik album changin' trains ... might be on another too, I don't know. He's great anyhow - and i second the parallel lines comment below. A masterpiece.
dziemmak, if you haven't already got it, get the 1981 album by Andy and Dick Gaughan "Parallel Lines", an (almost) unknown work of genius. In particular, "Captain Colston" and "Floo'ers O' The Forest" are masterpieces.
Irvine fans also should not miss the Mozaik album, Live At The Powerhouse.
kevo32a: "Where did all his hair go?" Well, he is in his mid-60s now... He started performing trad music in O'Donoghoes, Merrion Row, in 1962.
Dead right, U/piper ! Andy is one of the VERY best, and a really nice guy with that....I'm sure 'my dad has a better version' must be happily performing in the Scunthorpe workingmans club !!!!
Bigger body= fuller sound, also easier to sit on lap. I was talking to him when he came through my town and he mentioned how much he was sick of people calling it a guitar.

No wonder I read "god" along with his name...
I'm not the one who say something like that, but... FOR GOD'S SAKE! [2]

Thanks. This video was taken on the 20th of May '06 at the Mandoline Festival in Varazze, Italy.
As to the wherebouts of his hair... who knows, some Delilah type woman might've got to him?

Just GREAT. I love his way of singing, his guitar playing. NO COMPROMISE.

I like his guitar-shaped-bouzouki playing even better.

Thank for having mentionned this.
I'am a Irish bouzouki player in Paris, and I don't undertstand the purpose of disguising an ol'good Irish bouzouki into a guitar..
