Detroit, NY, Louisiana, unemployment is no joke. We can no longer sit back and wait for the system to do for us what we have been used to for centuries. We must become out of the box thinkers and create our own income streams. Times have changed dramatically in the last 10 years. Change with it or get left behind.

However, I drive a Toyota because they are quality vehicles. What we need to focus on is small industry! We need to support the few industries left.

Lest we forget, American auto makers have taken full advantage of slave labor in 3rd world countries. It's not the 50's anymore!

Wake up call!!....The state of Michigan leads the nation in unemployment status!!....Who among those people had it within their strategic reach to alleviate that burden??...NOBODY!!....maybe you didn't hear the young brotha who proclaimed "even people with degrees are out of work"...The idea of having everyone meet at Cobo was a disaster!!...especially when proper notice could have been given for return of the very forms which could have been given out at local churches, post offices, etc...

Having a degree does'nt guarantee you work. It's what you know how to do that will get you that job. A degree does not do that. A good mechanic can make over 120.000 a yr. these days a good attorney only makes 80,000... Do the math if you can!

@bradz123456 I agree. I have a BA degree and being "educated" is no guarantee that you will get a job. Don't listen to that bullshit that having a degree increases pay or results in a better job. You get a BA than they want an MA, you get an MA and you need a PHD, you get PHD and you're in debt. Having a degree is great but it doesn't equal a job.

So true. It used to be if you had a bachelors degree then you had a job. Today it just means you have $30,000 in student loans.

And the only result from the No Worker Left Behind job retraining program is that they will have an educated unemployed population. There are no jobs. And by job I mean a position that offers benefits and pays a wage you can support a family on.
